Lord of The Mysterious Realms Chapter 842

Jenkins lunged forward with astonishing speed, fully transforming into a blazing figure before the two men could even react.

He threw a single punch, unleashing a merciless torrent of fire and physical force. Yet, as the two men were sent flying, their bodies were coated in a layer of frost upon landing. Wielded by a level-four Enchanter like Jenkins, the power of his Frost Punch was truly formidable.

Jenkins didn't kill the men. Instead, he subdued them before letting Alexia hypnotize them. Finally, they were handed over to Miss Stuart's attendants. The whole affair went smoothly. Far from the complexities of Nolan, these were ordinary Enchanters, and dealing with them required no extra precautions.

Having concluded her social obligations, Miss Stuart finally found a moment to speak with Jenkins and Alexia. The young princess’s first act was to apologize for the trouble she had caused.

"No, no, you’ve helped us a great deal. There’s no need to apologize."

Jenkins said, inwardly debating whether he should compliment her attire. The princess's gown was just like something out of a fairy tale. And while she was, in fact, a real princess, this was the first time Jenkins had ever seen anyone actually dress the part.

Only later did it dawn on him that the pale blue, voluminous dress was a direct imitation of an illustration from his own *Stranger's Story Collection*. A metal crinoline gave the skirt an exaggerated silhouette, creating a stark contrast with her tightly cinched waist.

But it did nothing to diminish the way it accentuated Dolores Stuart's beauty...

"Are all sixteen-year-olds so well-developed these days...?"

His face flushed red. Before his companions could notice, he stammered an excuse about needing the restroom, spun around, and vanished into the crowded ballroom.

Chocolate scrambled after Jenkins, quickly disappearing into the throng of dancers as well. Miss Stuart was left baffled by what had just happened, and even Alexia couldn't quite make sense of it.

After all, the events of the previous weekend had been utterly insane.

It was half an hour later when Jenkins, having finally composed himself, returned. The ladies were chatting on a sofa near the French windows. Though the couch could have seated many more, only his two friends were there when he approached.

Jenkins had just taken a seat when Alexia motioned for him to look up. As he raised his head, he saw Sarrot Stuart on the third-floor landing, his face contorted with rage. The prince gripped the white stone balustrade, glaring down at the trio.

"He's noticed his men are missing."

Julia, standing nearby, remarked.

"Should I go and take care of him? There are only four Enchanters in this entire building. I doubt any of them could stop me."

Jenkins suggested, offering a permanent solution.

"No, killing him now would likely cause even greater trouble."

Miss Stuart shook her head. Judging by her tone, she didn't seem to place much importance on whether her eldest brother lived or died.

She wasn't surprised that Jenkins would make such a ruthless suggestion. In her mind, Mr. Williams, a man who had been embroiled in so many horrifying incidents in Nolan, was exactly that kind of person.

None of the three felt like dancing, so they remained on the sofa, content to talk. Somehow, Jenkins brought up the subject of Audrey, who was also a friend of Alexia's.

But when Jenkins mentioned the name "Miss Brolignans," a rare look of astonishment crossed Alexia's face.

"Yes, and she seemed... odd."

Jenkins chose his words carefully, as their first encounter had been anything but friendly.

He reached out to stroke his cat, perplexed that it still had such a voracious appetite even as a projection. He had no idea, of course, that this noble feline was no projection at all; the cat before him was as real as could be.

"She's already become a demigod?"

"Yes. But when I saw her at the beginning of the month, she wasn't... You know I have a keen sense for an Enchanter's power level." Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by novel⚑fire.net

Alexia nodded, turning her gaze to the night sky beyond the window, a flicker of confusion in her eyes.

"How interesting. For Audrey's teacher, she actually..."

"What? Her teacher? I thought they were friends."

"No, that old woman is Audrey's teacher. And their relationship has been terrible for the last few years."

Alexia didn't bother to hide the truth for her friend's sake. As precious as their friendship was, her connection to the man before her was clearly more valuable. A master of mathematics, she was quite adept at such calculations.

"Brolignans is an absolute lunatic. I've always suspected her mental instability predates her becoming an Enchanter... Has she sensed it, too?"

"The matter of the Savior."

As she spoke, Alexia turned to look Jenkins directly in the eye. Though he had never spoken of it openly, she knew with certainty that he held more than one of the qualifications.

The mathematics tutor shot a sideways glance at her student. The princess immediately understood, rising from her seat and moving to another a short distance away. She knew some conversations weren't yet for her ears.

"Jenkins, I've never discussed this with you directly, but... I suspect you don't fully understand what being a Savior entails. Don't argue, just listen."

The petite woman spoke with utter seriousness. Jenkins nodded quickly; he hadn't been about to object anyway.

"You probably know where this path leads, but I doubt you can imagine the sheer chaos this qualification has caused throughout human history, in epochs past. Did you know there's a theory that the great cataclysm at the end of each era isn't a natural disaster at all? It's the fallout from the struggle over the single available position for godhood."

Jenkins's eyes widened.

"That theory is wrong, obviously wrong, so you don't need to worry about that. A Savior exists to save the world. But those who know of this are more interested in the value the title represents. Do you remember the Tree House? For millennia, it hasn't just been lunatics scheming to claim the Savior's position. Your opponents are immensely powerful!"

"Then after the 'Real Illusion,' whose turn is it now? Which qualification is next?"
