Lord of The Mysterious Realms Chapter 1202
An ordinary person would have struggled to comprehend their recent conversation about "observation" and "points in time," but Alexia understood perfectly. She had long held a bold theory about Jenkins, and this merely served to confirm it.
After a brief hesitation, she asked:
"I understand. So you only wanted to see me. That makes you Jenkins's..."
Upon hearing the question, Kris Willamette broke into a smile. It wasn't a mocking or complicated expression, but one of pure, simple delight at the question itself:
"I'm his niece," she replied. "It's a pleasure to meet you at this point in time, Aunt Alexia. I hope that when you tutor me in mathematics in the future, you won't be quite so severe."
At this answer, the petite woman blushed—a rare sight indeed. She pressed her lips together and chose not to press the matter further.
Kris Willamette carried on:
"Uncle Jenkins could notice us here at any moment, and I've never won a game of hide-and-seek with him. Let's make this quick. First, about your situation here—it's not a major problem. The Church's forces have already responded. Once they break through those three barriers, they can reseal that scroll of contract. It won't be difficult. As for the one being summoned..."
Kris Willamette extended a slender finger, pointing upward:
Of course, that's not important. No matter what great power that being possesses, the ritual they're using can't bring it here, because the purpose of the ritual was never to summon it. This ritual can only draw Its gaze to Ruen in the material world for a short time, and that's not a major issue."
Alexia pressed for confirmation.
Kris nodded. "But this gaze will cause some unexpected incidents. Just leave that sort of thing for Uncle Jenkins to handle; he'll be fine. All sorts of trouble always seem to find Uncle Jenkins, but most of it happens in Nolan. This is Ruen, far from Nolan. As long as you're a bit careful, you won't face so many disasters."
As she spoke, she studied Alexia's expression, a strange look appearing on her own face:
"So, what comes next for you is to simply manage the problems caused by the spiritual disturbance after the great being's gaze falls upon this place. By the way, Aunt Alexia, before I came back to this point in time, you asked me to pass along a message... Do you know where Uncle Jenkins happened to spend last Saturday night?"
A grin spread across her face, the triumphant look of a little girl whose prank had landed perfectly. In that moment, she looked far more like a young child than a mature noblewoman.
Seeing the thoughtful look on Alexia's face, Kris Willamette continued:
"Of course, I didn't ride the Dawn Express all the way here just for this. More importantly, there is something that only you can do, Aunt Alexia. In the near future, the true calamity will descend, and the material world will face the end of the 18th cycle. While Uncle Jenkins has more than enough resolve, he isn't perfect. To prevent *that* from happening, we must prepare a failsafe before the time comes. It is absolutely necessary..."
Kris Willamette held out her right palm flat. The next moment, a different color finally appeared in the eerie green carriage. Specks of red, yellow, and blue light spun in her palm, eventually merging into one. A wooden box glowing with a faint green light appeared in her hand.
The other five sides of the box were plain, with no patterns, but the lid was adorned with the image of a towering tree. Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by N0v3l.Fiɾe.net
Alexia took it. It didn't feel very heavy, and when she shook it slightly, she couldn't feel anything rattling inside.
"This is a second chance for Uncle Jenkins. Not everything we observe is necessarily real—only what Uncle Jenkins observes is. That's why I can't know the truth of what happened back then. I can only follow my aunts' instructions and deliver this."
Alexia seized on the key word. A smile graced Kris Willamette's lips. She raised a hand to cover her mouth, her voice becoming muffled as she spoke:
"Oh, I can't possibly say. If I did, Uncle Jenkins wouldn't be very happy with me."
"But why do this? I've never believed that letting a future point in time observe the past leads to any good outcome. Things have happened more than once in history; there are precedents."
"This is to make amends."
Kris replied, nodding:
"I'm not sure if you know, but... hmm..."
She furrowed her brow, thinking for a long moment before continuing:
"For you, it was something that happened last month. During that incident, Uncle Jenkins met a younger version of me. And before that, he received an important message concerning the 'future'."
She was referring to the "kill the pirate king before month's end" incident. Alexia remembered Jenkins telling her about it.
"Jenkins said his future self left it for him."
"Yes, it was indeed Uncle Jenkins from a future point in time who did that. That message was to prevent the final calamity of the 18th Epoch from becoming even more powerful. But the problem is... that note... Uncle Jenkins only wrote it because of me."
"Hmm? What does that have to do with you?"
"It's complicated. Last month, in your timeline, Uncle Jenkins encountered B-07-1-6233, Uncertain Future, not because of his bad luck, but because of me."
Kris tilted her head slightly, avoiding Alexia's gaze.
"I wanted to see the Uncle Jenkins of the past. I wanted to know what kind of person he was, to understand everything about him, to know all his secrets... So I went behind the adults' backs and used a ritual to observe the past. But I never expected that Uncle Jenkins's [Uniqueness] at the point in time I observed—about half a month ago for you—had already reached a near-perfect state. My actions directly caused him to encounter B-07-1-6233, Uncertain Future, and temporarily 'leap' into the future. But this also attracted B-12-1-9999, The Time Paradoxer. As you know, that's an exotic creature that maintains the stability of the timeline, the only mortal being that can jump between different points in time. Because I disrupted the stability of time, it... wanted to kill me..."
Alexia said nothing. She herself had only caught glimpses of records mentioning B-12-1-9999, The Time Paradoxer. Until then, she had half-believed it was nothing more than a myth.
