Lord of The Mysterious Realms Chapter 1057
"The God's Child Umbilical Cord. You should know about the incident at the end of last year."
In the old elf's home, Jenkins casually explained the events of the past week. The elf looked up, and surprisingly, there was no shock on his face—only deep regret.
"The God's Child Umbilical Cord? Oh, by the Blossoms... Mortals these days are getting bolder and bolder."
He cursed, his face a mask of regret, and it was hard to tell which emotion held sway.
But their captive knew nothing about the umbilical cord itself, only guessing that the stolen item was related to a blood sacrifice ritual. Official source ıs noⅴelfire.net
In other words, the Exotic Tide, the God's Child Umbilical Cord, and the Blood Sacrifice Ritual were now all connected. Although he didn't know what the Dead Man's Whip was planning, it certainly couldn't be anything good.
After that, Jenkins asked if the Dead Man's Whip had undertaken any secret operations last Friday night. He learned that a High Priest Kolan and Captain Oroc had acted on their own, causing the organization to suffer heavy losses.
This was what had happened last week when Jenkins was watching the shop at night, the night he obtained the second piece of the umbilical cord.
"We still can't be sure where the remaining two pieces of the umbilical cord are, but the Dead Man's Whip most likely knows something... What on earth do they plan to do with it? Oh, it's truly baffling."
"I thought you might try to stop me, considering this is your bedroom."
Jenkins remarked to the old elf.
"I'm planning to move out in a bit anyway. This place isn't safe anymore. You could throw a wild party in here for all I care."
the old elf said, completely unfazed.
The location was now known to the Dead Man's Whip, so after incinerating the captive, Jenkins helped the old elf move. He had a lot of things, and he even wanted to take all the furniture. But they didn't need a moving company. After changing his clothes, the old elf casually took a bag of seeds from a drawer and scattered them around the room. The seeds sprouted instantly, growing into lush, green saplings in a remarkably short time.
The saplings filled nearly every inch of the room, forcing Jenkins and his cat into a corner. Fortunately, the small trees didn't encroach on their last bit of space.
The saplings took root on all the furniture and items that needed to be moved. Once their growth was complete, the old elf stood in the center of the bedroom and softly recited a short incantation in Elvish, making different hand gestures toward the four cardinal directions as he chanted.
His fingers were incredibly nimble, bending to form the shapes of Elvish runes. As he completed the gestures and incantation, the surfaces of the saplings began to emit faint specks of pale green light. The glow intensified until Jenkins had to shut his eyes against the blinding flash.
When the light faded, the room was empty, leaving only the two of them standing amidst a layer of dust. The cat, curious, climbed onto Jenkins's shoulder and saw that a maple-leaf-shaped tattoo had appeared on the back of the old elf's hand.
"So, what do you think? Not bad, eh?"
He showed off the tattoo on the back of his hand to Jenkins, his tone boastful.
"This is a Yellow Spell ability, Void Tree Space. As far as I know, the legacy for this ability doesn't exist in the material world. Want to learn it? I can teach you."
"Oh, thank you, but I don't think I'll learn it right now. I'm still planning out my own ability system."
The ability was certainly very useful, but Jenkins only had two bubbles left. He admired the skill, but he had no plans to acquire it for the time being.
With the room cleared out, the old elf, Bruce Siannod, claimed that the security deposit he'd left was enough to cover this month's rent. So, rather than disturb the ill-tempered landlady, he led Jenkins to the kitchen window and jumped straight down into the alley behind the house.
The elf moved with incredible agility. Even from the third floor, he landed with ease, showing no sign that just half an hour ago he had been an old man lying in bed, awaiting death's arrival.
The old elf had a backup residence. It was another rented apartment, but the conditions were much better than the last place. This one was right in the city center, only two streets away from the Sage's Church.
"This is the safest location. I doubt anyone would dare to attack me here, unless they're a complete lunatic."
he said, drying the rain from his hair with a towel. It was still raining outside; they had run through the downpour to get here.
As he unloaded the furniture from the leaf on the back of his hand, he explained the safety of the location to Jenkins, who nodded and listened distractedly. Jenkins was standing at the window, gazing out at the empty, rain-swept street, when he happened to see Miss Capet walking east along the road, clutching a paper bag full of bread.
The upscale hotel where she was staying was also in the city center; from this window, he could even see its fourth and fifth floors, as well as the top floor, in the distance. The woman below was sharp enough to sense she was being watched, but when she turned, all she saw was a strange young man holding a calico cat, looking out at the street from a kitchen window. Jenkins was still in his black-robed disguise, so Miss Capet simply dismissed him as an ordinary person.
"What are you looking at?"
Seeing Jenkins standing motionless, the old elf moved to the window as well, just in time to catch a glimpse of Miss Capet's retreating back as she left the street.
"Nothing. Just saw someone I know."
Jenkins didn't want to explain further. After saying this, he turned away from the window. The old elf, however, remained where he was, squinting at the woman's disappearing figure.
He uttered a questioning sound, then turned to look at Jenkins, who was drying his hair with a towel. The elf's eyes darted about for a moment, but he said nothing more.
Having confirmed the old elf's new address, Jenkins decided it was time to leave. The elf's stance was resolute; he refused to answer any questions related to bloodlines. Jenkins figured he wouldn't be able to change the elf's mind today, so he planned to try again another time.
Before he left, the elf swore by the World Tree that he wouldn't move again, and that even if he did, he would leave his new address for Jenkins. This was one of the reasons Jenkins could leave with peace of mind.
As he was about to say goodbye, Jenkins considered giving the elf his contact address at the black market bar so they could stay in touch. But after a moment's thought, he turned, drew the curtain, and dismissed his black robe, revealing the face of Jenkins Williams.
