Chapter 119: Chapter 119
It’s Ellen. The voice belonged to one of my friends, piercing right through my eardrums. Relief sank in my bones as soon as I realised it was my friend and not anyone else from the pack. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Caden sitting up in his seat, his lips twitching at my friend.
What was that about? I thought for a second before squashing it and staring at the person rushing towards us.
Colour drained her face as Ellen made her way to the bench, rudely shoving at the Alpha next to me. He made a disgruntled sound but scooted far away to let her sit in between us.
“Is it true?!” My friend rapidly blinked, placing a hand on mine, her tone still high pitched. For a second, her eyes flickered towards my tummy, mouth twisting. “I don’t see it.”
“Ellen! That’s rude!” Caden pinched her.
I almost let out a giggle at her reaction, shaking my head. The omega trainer can be so clueless at times that it’s funny. A sigh escaped my lips after I schooled my face and started to answer. “I am only a few weeks along, at least I think…that’s why.”
“Wait, so…you haven’t been to the clinic yet?” Caden piped from the other side, leaning down to meet my eyes. The Alpha had a frown on his face, teeth sinking on his bottom lip.
“N-No, I didn’t get the chance to visit.”
“You should book an appointment as soon as possible, Rose.” He straightened, gaze sharp and piercing.
Fear gnawed at my insides at the statement. How would I see the pack doctor without Aiden finding out about it? Besides, once the clinic gets hold of my pregnancy news, they will most likely announce it to everyone. That’s a chance I am not willing to take no matter what. Apart from that, the war was looming over us, and I was invested in finding out about the missing pack member.
“Aiden still doesn’t know…I am scared that the doctor will reveal everything to my Alpha.”
Caden made a sound. “In that case, you can visit the doctor from another pack. A friend of mine works in a nearby clinic. I can arrange it for you.”
Ellen nudged him quietly, their sides almost touching. “Who? Ravi?”
“Yes. He is back from trip.” The Alpha replied with a curl of his lips.
“Oh really? That’s amazing!”
“Mhm, we shall visit him soon.”
I flickered my eyes between the two of them, trying to get hold of their situation. Ellen knowing about his friend and their closeness to each other did please me. The omega has been after him for years now.
Clearing my throat, I managed to gain their attention, immediately noticing their flushed faces. I turned to them, my back almost cracking at the sudden shift.
“Are you sure that he does not know Aiden?”
“Yes. Everything will be discreet. I can talk to my friend today, and Ellen will take you there tomorrow morning.”
Silence lingered between us as they both shifted their heads towards me. I pondered over his words, lips in between my teeth. Getting a check-up did sound like a blessing considering I had no idea what to do or how far along is my pup.
“Okay…” I breathed. “Ellen, I will meet you by the garden in the morning, and we can both go together.”
The omega bobbed her head. “Sounds good to me!”
“Give me a minute. I will call him.” With that, the Alpha stood up and excused himself, leaving me all alone with Ellen.
“Pregnant, huh?”
I groaned, letting my head fall to my knees, tears burning in my eyes again. Now that my friends know about it, there was no way I could keep it a secret for a long time. Aiden has to know about it as soon as possible.
Ellen patted at my back in a slow, gentle manner before she leaned forward, “Don’t worry too much now, yeah?” The omega murmured quietly, voice cotton and filled with genuine care. “Things have a way of working themselves out.”
I swallowed and frowned, squeezing my eyes shut harshly and letting the tears roll down my cheeks. Hearing those words, I genuinely hoped that everything would be alright.

Ellen and Caden didn’t leave my side for the rest of the day. For that, I was grateful because if not for them, I would have been forced to think about Aiden. The Alpha did not bother to show up for lunch or check up on me. He must be still angry.
We had lunch in the packhouse, surrounded by terrified and nervous pack members. They were all expecting war to break out anytime soon but also not ready at the same time. Indeed a testing time for all of us.
By the time evening dawned on us, Beth had come running towards packhouse. The housekeeper had news about the missing omega, something she heard directly from the guards outside the meeting room. So it turned out that the omega sneaked away with beta from another pack for a romantic outing. Her parents would have never allowed her, so she broke the fence and quietly slipped away.
A huge weight lifted off my shoulders hearing the news, and I wanted to confront Aiden, but he was still in the council room. Beth said that they were still attending the case of the missing omega and deciding on her punishment for making all of us worry.
This incident might help make my case and allow Aiden to see that his mother is still redeemable.

The following day I found myself standing in front of the mirror, admiring the swell of my tummy. It wasn’t so obvious; it’s subtle and soft-spoken. Carefully, I carried my fingertips over the firm, curiously tough round.
“Good morning, pup. Today is going to be a good day, isn’t it?” I cooed, then rubbed a soft circle, wishing I could kiss my tummy.
In record time, I finished dressing, daring to wear a shirt that hugged my tummy just a bit, squeezing into black tights and slipping into slippers before snatching my phone from the pillows. Taking one last look at the mirror, I turned on my feet and rushed out of the room.
“Going somewhere?”
With a startled gasp, I lurched backwards at the familiar sound, effectively dropping the phone from my hand, letting it clatter on the ground. Adrenaline was hot in his veins as I rested my body against the wall for support, my knees weak and trembling. Around the wild beat of my heart, I placed a hand on my chest, my vision crystal clear as I dared to look at the person in front of me.
Aiden. To see him in all his glory features striking with all his frizzy curls framing his face made my lips part. The Alpha must have been out all night, the dark circles under his eyes making him look weary. His stare narrowed into my phone before slowly picking it up and placing it in my palm.
“You seem to be in a hurry.”
A breath left my parted lips as I dumbly nodded my head, the phone feeling cold and alien against my warm hand. “Yeah…I, ah, I have somewhere to be.” Agitated, my arms circle my bump to shield me from that frenzied stare. Fortunately for me, that action went unnoticed by the Alpha as he was more focused on closing the distance between us, a predatory glint in his gaze.
I stumbled backwards.
“Really? Sneaking to meet my mother behind my back again?”
Anger coiled in my belly at those words, chin raising in defiance as I met those cold eyes, reflecting the internal conflicts.
“No. Frankly, I am surprised that you still care about what I do after yesterday.”
With an enraged growl, the Alpha captured me around the waist, and I was too stunned by the sudden movement even to react. He pinned me against the wall, the sensation of his body against mine making me go lax. My eyes rolled back at his scent wrecking through my insides, intoxicating me like never before.
“Is that what you think, baby? I always care.”
I almost shrunk from the softness in his voice but squared my shoulders and shoved at him. The Alphas slowly took hold of my wrist, my numb hand flaring with sensation when he bought it to his mouth, running his lips over my knuckles.
“Come with me.” He motioned towards his room.
“W-We’re not going to your room.” I protested, but in a confident stride, the Alpha already wound his fingers around my wrist and started rushing to his room.
I looked down at our hands, mostly his large one encompassing mine. I never felt powerless with him, so out of control, but first time for everything. I thought, breath hitching as the door closed behind us with a dull thud.
