Chapter 91: Chapter 91

The kitchen was filled with the sound of cereal being poured into bowls as Kyle, Chaylen, and Vincent took their seats at the breakfast table. Since they all woke up late, Kyle was in charge of cooking breakfast, but they didn't mind that the table was still clean when they sat down to eat.

Normally, Chaylen and Vincent would squabble away during breakfast, but with everything being quiet, Kyle could finally relax and enjoy the peace.

However, their peaceful meal was interrupted by an unexpected visitor. Segi entered the room with a cheerful "Good morning!" but the three men looked up at him before returning their focus to their food.

The three individuals silently wondered, "Doesn't he have a job?" However, in reality, Segi does have a job. As the sole boss, he can explore and roam without limitations. Segi enjoys venturing to different places and indulging in gossip. Despite feeling out of place, he visited his cousin's boarding house to spend time with the people there.

"What are you doing here again? Can you just go away? You're ruining our morning," Soju complained/

"Shut up!" Segi said as he took a seat beside Chaylen. Although Segi is known for being curious and gossipy, he has a soft spot for these younger men, especially after witnessing what occurred the prior evening. He hoped that his presence would alleviate the tension. If their frustration were directed towards him, it would divert their attention. However, gossiping remained a top priority.

"I came here for breakfast, yet all you have is cereal?" complained the visitor.

Kyle was about to speak, but Terban's arrival interrupted him. Segi was the first to turn around, followed by Chaylen and Vincent. They all looked at Terban, who had swollen and tired eyes.

Typically, when someone drinks at night, the smell of alcohol lingers. However, Terban was a clean freak, evident from his wet hair and the white towel draped on his shoulder. Despite his efforts to cleanse himself, his sore eyes were still visible.

Segi immediately observed the reactions of Kyle, Chaylen, and Vincent, wondering if they would tease or laugh at Terban. However, none of Segi's thoughts came to fruition.

"I made a hangover soup," announced Kyle. Despite still feeling tired, he could not cook breakfast and prepared hangover soup instead.

"Eat now," Chaylen offered.

Vincent didn't say anything. However, he pulled the empty chair next to Kyle. Bend down and ate his cereal silently.

Terban could have pretended not to remember anything. He was drunk, so it'll work. But as of now, he knew he did not need to act arrogant and rude. The ego he held for a long time has completely crumbled.

Terban opened the fridge quietly. He took a bottle of water. Then as he closed it, he said, "Thanks. I'll eat it later."

Segi was stunned at what he heard. He watched Terban turn and walk up the stairs until he was out of sight.

"D-Did you hear that?! He showed his gratitude!" Keep informed. However, no one answered Segi. Thus, he continued, "I didn't think you would be kind to him. He said so many hurtful words to you last night, didn't he? He even called Chaylen an 'ass'."

Chaylen put down the spoon. "He didn't call me an ass! He said, I just look like an ass!"

"So, you're willing to look like an ass?" Vincent chuckled.

Kyle also laughed. "Pfff...!"

"If I look like an ass, you look like shit," Chaylen rebuked Vincent.

"If I'm the shit and you're the ass, then I would rather surf on the toilet bowl," Vincent' responded.

"Guys, is it okay to talk about that in front of food?" complained Kyle, who couldn't take it anymore.

"So why didn't you get mad at Terban?" Segi's return to the topic.

The three fell silent. Then Chaylen took the chance to explain, "I really wanted to tease Terban. But when I saw him last night, I remembered myself. If I laugh at him, it will feel like I am laughing at myself too."

Kyle and Vincent agreed with Chaylen's explanation. What Terban said last night were the words they wanted to say to Ryan. They spoke the words they wanted to say and even knelt before her.

Segi sighed and shook his head while looking up. "I don't understand what you like about my cousin," he said, staring at the ceiling. "Why do you have to cry over that ugly creature?"

"She's your cousin, so you can't really understand anything," Kyle sighed.

"You are really an idayat," Chaylen said with a British accent.

"What do you mean? What 'idayat'?" Segi wondered.

"Idayat, Peppa Pig's version of an idiot," explained Chaylen. Then spoke in a British accent again, "Idayat."

Vincent swore to finish his breakfast as soon as possible, as he had a little patience left for Chaylen.

Meanwhile, Terban returned to his room after getting water from the kitchen. On his way, he met Slyvester. Of the two of them, Terban cried more. So, he was surprised to see Slyvester's eyes swelling more than his.

'Did he cry too?' Terban was dumbfounded at this thought.

Slyvester wanted to tell Terban he was so glad he was back. Yet, he felt that he had no right to say so, and therefore he pursed his lips into a straight line.

"What are you looking at?" Terban asked.

"Huh?"

"Step aside. You're blocking the way."

"Ahhh. A-Alright." Slyvester moved to the side so Terban could pass.

Terban walked past him. Then he uttered, "Sorry for what I did in the elevator. I did it to mess with you."

Slyvester was stunned by what he heard. Sorry? Terban apologised?!

Sylvester was too shy to turn around and face the loss he had just experienced. Suddenly, he felt a sharp blow to the head.

"Ouch!" Sylvester cried out, rubbing the sore spot. He glared at the man who had hit him and demanded, "What was that for?"

"I just felt like it," Terban explained with a grin, walking towards the other side of the room. Just as he was about to open the door, Ryan appeared from her room.

The three of them eyed each other warily, and there was a moment of tense silence. Finally, Terban broke the silence.

"Good morning," he greeted his friend.

"Huh?" Ryan responded, surprised.

"I said, 'Good morning'. Are you deaf?" Terban asked with a genuine smile.

It was a simple greeting, but for Ryan, it was a sign that things would be okay between them.
