Chapter 63: Chapter 63
“I feel so full. That was the best breakfast ever! Right?” Slyvester said to Ryan as they walked out together from the restaurant.
“I agree that they have delicious food. But the best breakfast? You always said that every single day, Slyv.”
A food lover like Slyv only chuckled. When he looked back at Ryan, he only noticed the bandaid on her left cheek.
“Why do you have bandaid on your cheek? Something happened?”
He raised his hand, but Ryan moved backward before Slyvester could touch the bandaid.
“T-This is nothing,” Ryan, who wanted to hide her pimple from Slyvester, lied. When she turned her head away, she saw a couple walking toward the parking lot.
They were clinging to each other, whispering sweet words.
“Baby, are you a sugar?” the man asked his girlfriend.
“Sugar? Why?”
“Because you’re the only thing that could make my life so sweet.”
The girl hit his shoulder while giggling.
Slyvester and Ryan blinked their eyes. They both caressed their arms, and crept out.
“That was so creepy,” Slyvester commented.
“You don’t like pick-up lines too?” Ryan asked.
“NEVER,” he answered right away. “I mean, there’s a lot of ways to make your partner happy. I don’t need to spell it out. But as for me, I can make my partner giddy and excited even without those f*cking pick-up lines.”
“How arrogant. You sound like an expert. Wonder if that’s true.”
“Why don’t you try it?”
“What?”
“I will be your boyfriend for a day. If I make you happy, you have to admit that I am an expert.”
The competitiveness hit hard on Ryan. Instead of remembering that Slyvester was one of the guys who likes her, Ryan accepted the game with the thought of winning.
“Game! If you fail, you need to treat me to food for a month.”
“Deal!”
Where will this bet take them?
Ryan and Slyvester went to the amusement park. The date was so simple, and Slyvester thought that the most important fact in this date wasn’t the setting but the mood. As long as there are no guys who will interfere with their date.
The rides will be open at 2 p.m. After buying tickets, Ryan and Slyvester spent their time playing in different booths. They played laser guns, visited a ghost house, and watched 3D videos.
They really enjoyed playing like kids, given that they are both childish in some way. Instead of looking like a couple, they seemed like two children going on a field trip. What happened to their deal?
“Ryan! It’s 2.p.m! We can hop on the rides!”
“Yey! Where to start?”
“Hmmm.”
Slyvester looked around.
“Want to go to the Merry-go-round?”
“Huh? We’re too old for that.”
“So, you don’t want to?”
“Hell, forget that. Let’s go!”
Age is really just a number. After Merry-Go-Round, they rode a Space shuttle, Frizbee, Mini Train sliding worm coaster, Spin zone bumper car, etc…
At last, they stood next to the big Ferris wheel. The last ride they wanted to try.
“Sir, you need to pay for the rides,” the staff said, blocking their way.
“My ticket is ride-all-you-can,” Slyvester explained as he showed the ticket around his wrist.
“Yes, Sir. But this ride isn’t included in the promo.”
“Then, you should change it into “Ride all you can except the Ferris wheel,” Ryan murmured in the corner.
“How much per person?” Slyvester asked, getting his wallet.
“$2.”
In Slyvester’s wallet, there’s $2. He forgot to withdraw cash from the bank and only brought a card with him.
Embarrassed, Slyvester leaned closer to the staff and whispered, “Sir, do you accept credit cards?”
The staff scratched his nape while laughing awkwardly.
“What’s the problem? I’ll pay for it,” Ryan offered.
“N-No! I can pay for this!”
Slyvester gave his last $2 cash with a heavy heart.
The staff opened the door for them. They were about to go in, but stopped because of the ruckus happening beside them.
“Nathalie is in the comfort room. Can I ride alone?” asked a boy.
“I am sorry, little fella. But you can’t ride this alone. Wait for an adult to accompany you,” the staff replied.
“But I’ve been waiting in line for a long time. The amusement park will close at any minute. Can you just do me a favor? Pretty please?”
“Kiddo~” Ryan called. “Do you want to come with us?”
“Wait, what?” Slyvester complained behind her back.
Pretending she did not hear Slyvester, Ryan approached the kid.
“You can come with us,” she changed it into a statement.
“Ma’am. Only two people are allowed to ride in the cubicle,” the staff said.
As if to agree, Slyvester excessively nodded his head.
“Ahhh, really? Then I will ride it alone. Slyvester and this kid can go together.”
“Is that for real?!” The kid gasped. He ran next to Slyvester and held his hand. “Yey! I love this.” The kid looked at the staff and said, “Sir, tell Nathalie that I am riding with other people.”
If the kid was happy with Ryan’s decision, the man with a childish mind felt the opposite.
