Chapter 140: Chapter 140

Elena.

I opened my eyes, my mind struggling to make sense of the warmth and color that surrounded me. I was alive, and that fact alone was both surprising and bewildering. How could I be alive? I vividly remembered the feeling of Bruno's hands around my throat, squeezing the life out of me. The coldness had consumed me, and I had embraced the certainty of death. But now, here I was, staring up at Luca's anxious face.

"Luca, what... what happened?" I managed to whisper, my voice weak and filled with disbelief.

His eyes searched mine, his worry etched deeply into his expression.

"Elena, I planned it," he confessed, his voice laced with a mixture of guilt and determination. "When Alessandro discovered your true identity, I knew DeAngelo wouldn't forgive you easily, especially with his memory loss. So, I secretly injected you with a toxin—a drug that simulates death."

I blinked, trying to absorb his words. He had risked everything to save me, resorting to an experimental drug that could have caused irreparable damage. The depth of his desperation and love for me overwhelmed my senses.

"But Luca, that was so dangerous," I murmured, tears welling up in my eyes. "You took such a risk for me."

He placed a hand gently on my shoulder, a bittersweet smile on his lips. "Elena, I don't care what I had to do to get you out of all of that nightmare, we all know that Alessandro would not relent until you’re dead too," he admitted, his voice filled with sincerity. "I wanted you to be safe, even if it meant sacrificing my loyalty. I love you, and that love will endure, regardless of what happens."

Emotion washed over me, and I pulled him into a tight hug, grateful beyond words. "Thank you, Luca. Thank you for everything."

He nodded, his eyes reflecting a mixture of joy and sorrow. "I understand that we can never truly be together," he acknowledged, his voice tinged with a touch of sadness. "But I wanted you to know that my love for you will endure, even if I can't express it in the ways I long to. I care."

As my tears fell unabated, Luca implored me not to weep. He handed me a passport and a packed bag, offering me an escape to the Philippines. Assuring me that DeAangelo believed he was dead, Luca believed I could slip away unnoticed. However, I understood that accepting his offer was not an option for me. I couldn't abandon the battle unfinished; I had to see it through to the end in order to find peace.

With a heavy heart, I mustered the strength to convey my decision to Luca. "I have to stay," I asserted firmly, my voice resolute. The fire within me burned with the determination to confront the demons of my past and bring justice to those who had caused such pain.

Luca listened, comprehension and sadness evident in his eyes. He respected my choice, understanding the depth of my resolve. We stood in that moment, aware that our paths diverged, yet forever connected by the bond we had forged.

In the midst of turmoil and uncertainty, I clutched the passport and bag, symbols of an alternate path that could have been. I would face the challenges ahead, fully aware that the road would be treacherous and the sacrifices great. But I knew deep in my heart that I had made the right choice—to stay and fight until the bitter end.

Salvatore.

I gathered the park elders and the members of the pack for an emergency meeting. The news of Bruno's capture had spread like wildfire, and I needed to address the situation promptly. As we gathered, anticipation filled the air, mingled with a sense of uncertainty.

"Thank you all for being here," I began, my voice carrying a hint of weariness. "As you know, Bruno has been captured, and it is believed that he is no longer alive."

Murmurs of agreement rippled through the room. The general consensus was that Bruno's fate had been sealed, and we needed to move forward.

"I propose that I assume leadership of the park," I declared, my gaze scanning the faces of the gathered wolves. "Given my experience and knowledge, it seems only logical that I take on the role of alpha."

Most of the pack nodded in agreement, acknowledging my capabilities and understanding the need for stability. However, a formidable wolf rose from his seat, his eyes filled with determination. "I object!" he exclaimed, his voice echoing with defiance. "There are others among us who possess strength and wisdom. This decision shouldn't be made so hastily."

Before he could continue, I felt a surge of anger and aggression surging through me. In a swift and brutal motion, I lunged at him, my instincts taking over. The room erupted into chaos as the scent of blood filled the air. His lifeless body lay before me, blood staining my face and hands. I licked the crimson liquid off my lips, a mix of satisfaction and remorse swirling within me. The consequences of challenging my authority had been made abundantly clear.

Licking the blood from my lips, I turned to face the rest of the park, my eyes filled with a mix of dominance and madness. "Does anyone else dare to challenge me?" I growled, daring them to defy my authority.

A collective silence fell upon the gathering, broken only by a chorus of hesitant and fearful voices. "No... Alpha Salvatore," they murmured in unison, acknowledging my power.

Satisfied with their response, I let out a deep, sinister chuckle. The park was now under my control, and no one would dare question my rule. I had seized the opportunity to become alpha, to bring an end to Bruno's reign of terror once and for all.

"Now, my fellow pack members, it is time for us to forge a new path," I declared, my voice resonating with a mixture of authority and ambition. "Under my leadership, we shall rebuild this park and restore order. Together, we will rise stronger than ever before."

That night, I received information from my trusted spies regarding Bruno's whereabouts. They reported that a limping man fitting his description was seen leaving the Ferrari residence. Intrigued, I decided to investigate this lead personally, assuming my formidable wolf form to track him down. Following his trail, I ventured through the darkness until I came upon a park where Bruno was found resting, his condition clearly deteriorating. With a swift transformation back to my human form, I approached him with a sense of vindication, relishing in the opportunity to confront my longtime adversary.

“Hello, Bruno, fancy seeing you again, and in this state for that matter, I won’t lie though, I am more than shocked when I heard that they released you. I do not know if they are just been merciful or out-rightly stupid because it would make no sense for anyone to even let someone who killed so many of their family go just like that. Makes no sense!”

“Is that what you should be curious about or saying when you have just seen your alpha in such a dire state. get over here to help me at once, boy!” Bruno said to me and it made me laugh so hysterically that he still did not just get what was happening.

“Alpha? Who? You? Aww, you need to be told Bruno that you are dead to the pack and I am the new alpha.” I responded in a gloating manner and I relished in the way his eyes went wide at this revelation.

“You! You can not do that? Help me, please, Salvatore. Think of all we’ve been through together side by side, you will always be my most loyal man after all.” He started to beg and it made me laugh even more. I was so loving this.

“Help you? Loyal man? I know even you do not believe that gibberish, Bruno. You are merely saying it to save yourself ...” I started to say but he interrupted, “Please, you have to help me! I'll give you anything you desire, unimaginable rewards, just help me, please, one last time!” He desperately begged.

I scoffed at this, “begging for mercy, are we? How the mighty have fallen. Loyalty meant nothing to you, and now you seek it from me? Pathetic.”

But Bruno kept going with his pleas as he kept getting even more desperate, “I can offer you riches beyond your wildest dreams, power that will make you invincible. Just don’t leave me like this, Bruno.”

I remained cold and resolute as I kept on hearing him, his pleas fell on deaf ears. I had no intention of standing by his side any longer.

“Hm, who says I plan on leaving you here like this?” I said as I moved even closer to him and with a swift, merciless snap of his neck, I put an end to his pitiful existence. Disgusted by his desperation, I spat upon his lifeless body. Loyalty was a commodity I no longer valued.

I had embraced my newfound status as the Alpha, and with that came a burning desire to reclaim what was rightfully mine. Elena, my woman, had been taken from me by that wretched Deangelo, and it was time for me to seize her back. Furthermore, I planned to eradicate the entire Ferrari park, leaving no trace of their existence. Calculating my moves strategically, I knew they would least expect an attack, considering their recent victory against us. It was precisely this moment of complacency that I intended to exploit. Rallying my loyal men, I set forth towards the Ferrari residence, my heart pulsating with anticipation.

The journey to their territory was filled with a palpable sense of determination and fury. Each step forward brought me closer to reclaiming what was rightfully mine. I had a plan, a vision of the vengeance I sought to unleash upon those who had wronged me. As we neared our destination, I felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. The time for retribution had arrived. We would strike swiftly and decisively, catching them off guard in the throes of their self-assured triumph.

Gathering my men, I addressed them with unwavering confidence. "Today, we reclaim our honor and our pride. The Ferrari park will crumble beneath our might. Let them bear witness to the wrath of a true Alpha!" Their resounding cheers echoed through the night, fueling our collective resolve. We advanced with a united purpose, our steps synchronized with the beating of our hearts.

The time for redemption had come, and I would leave no stone unturned until I had accomplished my goals. The Ferrari park would tremble before my relentless pursuit, and Elena would once again be by my side. With each passing moment, the weight of vengeance grew heavier upon my shoulders. But I embraced it willingly, knowing that only by confronting the past could I pave the way for a brighter future.

As we marched onward, I felt an intoxicating mix of determination, anger, and satisfaction. The clash between the Ferrari park and our united forces was inevitable. And when the dust settled, it would be I, Alpha Salvatore, who emerged victorious, ushering in a new era of dominance and power, I will do what the useless alpha had not been able to do for years and my name would go down in history as the one who ended the mighty Ferrari pack!
