Chapter 42: Chapter 42
Taylor's POV
"Oh fuck!ng Judas!" He turns away. "I should have known, I should have known!!! Nerdy glasses, tomboys dressing, blonde hair, blue eyes, outwardly challenging, incredibly daring, dangerously pretty, most of all too good for me."
I'm gonna say it, I do not get what he's saying.
I walk to him and turn him to look at me. "What's wrong with you?"
His eyes stare into mine with a half sad, half apologetic look. "You're Rory's girl!" He exclaims like that's something everyone knows.
I frown, "I'm not Rory's girl, how do you even know my full name and that you were mumbling just now how did you know."
He covers his face as though struggling to keep himself on the sane part. "That's because Rory told me."
"Why would he do that?!" Rory has no right to give my info to anyone, much less a stranger! I fold my hands and look up at him. "Who the hell are you then?"
"I'm Keenan Rory's best friend."
We hear footsteps from the stairs and it's Mom ready for work.
"I'm leaving now, kids."She announces before her eyes meet Keenan. "You've got a visitor?"
"Yes! I do!" I reply with fake glee. "Mom this is Keenan Hilton, Keenan, meet my mom."
Keenan stretches his hand to her, "Nice to meet you, ma'am"
She shakes his hand, "The pleasure is mine, young man." She smiles, before asking. "You're Hilton son?"
"Yes." He nods.
"Nice to meet you, our Church owes him a lot for the orphanage he helped us build, he's always in our prayer. Nice to meet you."
They stop shaking and mom looks at us. "I'm leaving, please make the gentleman feel at home okay?"
We all smile, oh sure we will.
As soon as she's out the door and it closed, the smile disappears.
"What?!" The four other voices in the room exclaim in disbelief.
"Tell me you're joking." Pleads Jake.
"How can you be Rory's best friend?" Jack asks, ridiculously.
"Must all the rich people in this damn city be connected to themselves?!" Josh demand.
Together they move towards him, and he's trapped in the middle of them, and he panics with great fear.
"Calm down, remember your Mom said to make me feel at home." He warns sternly, but sweat of fear runs down his forehead.
I move back, hoping the outpour in the room would give me a little chance to run out, but Keenan catches me by my wrist before I can turn to my heels and when I look back, the three Js are gone.
Typically three Js.
"Let me go, let me go. I told you to leave earlier and you didn't. Now you've found a better reason to, leave." I begin to pull at my wrist in his hand, hoping for whatever reason there is, that he'll let go.
"I don't want to leave." He replies, not letting go of my wrist. "You have got to believe me when I say I do have honest and sincere intention." He drags in a rough breath. "Whatever it is we have I don't want it to end because of what we have discovered now."
"What we've discovered have changed everything Keenan. You're the best friend of the man I love and as much as you're nice, I can't deal with that just yet."
"You love him?" He asks, letting go of my hand to wrap them around his head.
I watch him gingerly, he turns away from me then he looks at me again this time in disbelief. "Do you love him?"
"Yes," I answer I loved him, and Keenan is the first I've told outside home and Mycole.
"He doesn't know." He tells me in all honesty.
"There's no need for him to know, all he wants is to make me his other woman."
"He can be a dick most of the time."
"Yes, a big one," I answer absentmindedly.
"You've seen it?" He raises an eyebrow at me.
My cheek immediately heats up. "He's shameless." I awkwardly reply. "And incredibly hot and all that I could ever dream of, but I don't want to be his other woman."
"What is it you want then?"
His question makes me unexpectedly speechless and my throat runs dry as I think of what it is I want.
No one has ever asked me that.
"Umm I don't -t know," I cluelessly stutter, "to be someone first choice, to be able to love and be loved back, to be able to hold hands in public and be able to show how much we love each other public and openly?"
A mischievous smirk appears on his lips. "Likes the public se--?"
"No!" I exclaim, throwing my hands up in frustration. "Damn it! You know what I mean."
"Yes, I do, hun."
"I want to be loved, without having to hold back on what people may say, I want to be able to forget about the future and everything there is to think about."
"I know what's that like and I understand how you feel, and for what it's worth, do what your heart tells you." He advises and I smile "and it's okay if you don't want to go to the dinner anymore."
My nose scrunches up, "I already gave you my word, I don't plan on breaking it."
"Well good 'cause my mom's gonna hang my poor ass if I bring a whore over for today's dinner like I did last time."
The doorbell goes off and I walk to the door and opens it and there's someone I've been wanting to see since yesterday. Mycole.
He's wearing a red short hand sweater on a blue long sleeve and a pair of black jean which makes him look really cute this morning if I might add and his blond hair is darker than usual probably because he's dying them, but he still looks adorable as ever.
He gives me a shy smile and I pull him inside and close the door. "Someone's happy to see me today."
"I missed you, Mycole, do you want me to spell it?"
"Yes?"
"Well, I won't." I stick my tongue at him and he grabs me by my arm and pulls me to himself.
"I missed you too, Taylor."
Keenan clears his throat and we turn to him and I almost forgot about him and I pull Mycole towards him.
"This is Mycole, my best friend and Mycole meet--"
"Keenan." Mycole completes and I look up at him strangely.
"Sorry have we met?" Keenan asks, taken back a little.
"Not really, I've seen your future though." He says almost certainly. "With her." He looks down at me and I silently gasp.
Not here.
"What future?" Keenan asks confused, not like I am not though.
"Your future with hers are entwined together." He says like that's something everyone will understand. Of course, not everyone will understand that, especially Keenan.
"What?"
"Oh aha!" I laugh into the highly heated conversion which I don't think Keenan should be hearing for any reason. "Don't listen to him, he says things aloud sometimes."
I turn to Mycole and give a silencing sign. "Come on the three Js are in their rooms and I'll take you to them."
"Sure." He replies, after a moment of thought and I drag him away from Keenan's presence.
Instead of going into the three Js room, I pull him into my room and shut the door.
"What the hell?!" We both exclaim.
"What was that you were saying?"
"Why did you say I say things aloud like a crazy person?"
"Because whatever you think Keenan should know, you're not going the right way, we just met and I can't have an entwined future with him." I elaborate plainly.
"Why did you even say that our future are entwined?"
"Because I saw it okay? Most times I can't control what I see." He says sightly annoyed and he lowers his head.
I cup his face and my expression saddens instantly too. "I'm sorry okay? What did you see?" I ask, more of demand, because I know there's more to his vision than merely just our future entwined. "How is our future going to be loved entwined, Mycole?"
He looks into my eyes before he replies. "Because I see you having a baby with Keenan a few months from now, that's how I know."
