Chapter 107: Chapter 107
A bitter taste grows in my mouth and I flip the document on my desk to see the issuing files and each seems to have my signature on them. I must have signed it unknowingly, probably thinking they were business and plans as usual. Hell, I've been signing document these last three weeks without taking my time and revising them.
How the hell did this happen?!!!
My heartbeat triples up and panic and an unpleasant fear grip me hard to the core and my body begins to tremble and I rub my already sweaty palm over my face.
I pick up my phone to make a call to the bank when the door opens and Keenan walks in and closes the door behind and I look up at him from the desk phone before me with a raised brow.
"Something tells me it's not your favourite day in the world." he begins to say probably already reading and understanding my facial expression.
I take a calm as well as restraining breath and flatten my hands on the desk, the last thing I need right now is jokes from an unwanted company. "Can I help you with something because like you said, now is my least favourite time to be bothered?"
He strolls further into the office silently, shoving his hands into his pocket and staring at the desk where my hands now are on the document, "Let me guess," he places his finger to his chin, pretending to be thinking. "you just discovered that all the company's money is gone."
I frown at his words and I get up from my seat. Keenan is in no way involved in the affair or the running of my company so how does he know something is wrong? And most importantly how does he know something is wrong this very moment?
"How do you know?" my voice tremble a little in horror.
He shrugs casually and approaches the desk further, "I know probably because I know Taylor."
My frown deepens, not understanding what Taylor has to do with the company missing money, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I mean I lived the last four years with her so I kinda know parts of her plans and I know this is all part of her schemes just as she has perfectly orchestrated from the very beginning," he answers, not looking bothered with what he's saying in any way.
I get up from my seat in an instant, "So you are telling me Taylor did this," I point to the documents on my desk, but mostly referring to the state the company has fallen to, "just to get back at me?"
He nods without a second doubt. "Yes and I've got to give it to her, she's smart at her game." he chuckles lowly and I glare at him making him stop and seriously look at me. "you think she came back and forgave you from the goodness of her heart? This was her plan, man."
"I don't believe you, Keenan," I shake my head, none of his words is true, Taylor isn't that kind of person, not the Taylor I know. She wouldn't be that vindictive she wouldn't be so vengeful.
Admit it, you don't know this Taylor, you just hope that somehow the one who you fell in love with five years ago still exist in there somewhere.
"I need you to leave now," I tell him pointing to the door.
He is getting into my head with his nonsense and I am not going to have it anymore.
"Really? She does not care about you and you need my help if you ever want a way out of this mess." he walks towards me.
"I don't!" I exclaim loudly, slamming my hand down on the desk and making him pause in his movement. "You are just jealous she's with me and not you, you are mad that after all these years she still chose me over you and you can't stand it."
His brow raises in a mocking gesture, "Really? Because her plans are finally prevailing. This was what she wanted all the while, man, she wants to make you pay for everything she's been through the last four years. She still angry, bitter and full of resentment, she put me through the same thing, man. And if there is anything she feels for you, it's anger and resentment. She might love you, but it's overshadowed by her bitterness."
"Shut the fuck up, Keenan, I'm done talking to you and you have no right to talk about Taylor like that, get out!" I bellow angrily, my hands balling into a fist.
"Fine! I'm leaving!" he raises his hand in surrender, "But if you still think Taylor is that innocent maybe you should ask her why she hasn't told you that Reign is your daughter yet, even when you two are about to get married?" he spits out before walking out and slamming the door to my face.
Three minutes later and mouth is still ajar from the shock of the last words Keenan said to me before leaving. Reign is my daughter, why has Taylor never mentioned anything about it to me?
Oh, my lord, Reign is my daughter!
I'm a father.
Without touching any other thing in the office I walk out into my car and drive straight home and when I get down from the car, I run to into the house.
I see no trace of Taylor in the house and I pace up and down in the living room with a racing heart and a pounding head, I couldn't have seen this was coming even if I was extremely watchful, I trusted her... I loved her.
After aimlessly pacing around for about thirty-minute, the door opens and Taylor walks in accompanied by four men in black suits who are about two inches taller than I am and heavily built up and they all approach me.
"Taylor, I need to talk to you," I begin to say as I walk to her, but two of the men hold me back. My brow narrow at the happening. "what the meaning of this?" I demand, trying to fight my way out of their hold, but I feel powerless against them, never in my life did I feel this powerless. I stare at Taylor whose arms are crossed over her chest questioningly.
"I just finished the meeting with the board members and they have seen the mismanagement of fund and the plot you pulled, trying to run the company down and so they decided to remove you as chairman of the board."
My heart almost runs out of my mouth, "What are you talking about?!!" I exclaim more in panic and fear than of questioning. "I never did any of that, that was all your plan to set me up!" I still struggle to get out of the grip of the men holding me hostage with their hands but to no avail. "Tell them to let me go!"
"They will, once you're out of this house!" she answer bluntly.
"This is my house!"
She moves her head from side to side, "No not anymore. I own it now along with your car 'cause I bought them."
"Why are you doing this, Taylor?" I ask, looking into her eyes, and as if my gaze just burnt her she looks away from me.
"Take him away," she tells the men and they begin pulling me out.
"You can't do this, our daughter doesn't deserve this," I tell out.
Her eyes flare, but there is still surprise and awareness that I know the truth about Reign in them. "Reign will never be your daughter." she spits out in disgust before going upstairs and the men drag me out.
