Chapter 846: Chapter 846

[The Presumptuous Character Card Cooldown (Cooldown remaining: 1 Copy World)]

He Ao sighed deeply as he looked at the text in his field of view.

He had entered the Copy World with a total of eight Exchange Stars, seven of which he used to redeem [The Presumptuous]; the remaining half was used for a six-hour usage time of ’The Presumptuous,’ and the other half for an hour and a half usage time of ’The Presumptuous’ ability ’Usurper God.’

He lowered his gaze to the ’Character Card’ in his view.

From left to right, the first three cards were [Primordial Flame], [King of Dusk] and [The Presumptuous], corresponding to ’Joey,’ ’Vian,’ and ’Nell,’ all of which he had already redeemed.

The first two cards he had used in the last Copy World and were now out of their cooldown period, while [The Presumptuous] had entered a normal cooldown period.

However, the ability ’Usurper God’ of [The Presumptuous] had no cooldown, so he could still redeem this ability in his next Copy World.

Following these three redeemed cards was [Saint], corresponding to ’Pete’ of the Fountain of Youth Copy World. This card, involved with the Life Goddess, unlocked redemption after his promotion to B-level in Super Memory, and, like [The Presumptuous], needed seven Exchange Stars.

After [Saint] was [Deep Sea Glimmer], corresponding to ’Jess’ of Vitland City Copy World’s card, involved with a deceased being between an Angel and a Divine Being which could be redeemed from the start, needing five Exchange Stars.

Behind [Deep Sea Glimmer] was the Xito Replica card, [Phantom of Dreams], the most costly among all character cards, requiring nine Exchange Stars.

This card, associated with the ’Winding Hill’ and highly related to Super Memory, potentially hid clues to even higher Talent Sequences corresponding to the path of Super Memory.

Moreover, it was under high scrutiny by the Witch of Desire and was even born out of the influence of the Witch of Desire.

Beyond these six existing cards, He Ao saw a new card in his view, turned away from him.

As his gaze settled on it, the card gradually turned around, revealing its contents.

The most eye-catching part was the ’mist’ covering the entire card surface.

This thick mist contained purple lightning, grey radiance, shining light, and a crimson storm.

Deep within this thick mist, a vague, mist-formed figure of a young boy appeared.

The boy hovered in the mist, a red scarf tied around his neck, and a faint blood-colored butterfly pattern emerging on his forehead.

His eyes were tightly shut, as if in a deep, endless sleep; the endless mist extended behind him, filling the entire card with dense fog.

He Ao’s gaze moved to the name of this card.

Just from the name, He Ao realized how this card was formed.

Yiluo’s body had likely fused with some remnants of the Eternal Divine Nation.

He Ao glanced at the butterfly pattern on the boy’s forehead in the card,

And the medium of this fusion, was likely Alice.

Alice was itself the result of Endir’s ’research’ during the development of the Eternal Divine Nation, an experimental product from the ’Inner Church’ and the last power embodied, sharing some origin with the Eternal Divine Nation.

And because Alice’s power originated from the grateful dead of the Inner Church thanking He Ao, she also had a deep connection with He Ao in terms of mysticism.

Therefore, He Ao had actually prepared to let Alice try to absorb the remnants of the Eternal Divine Nation’s power after the final battle and its destruction.

The good news was that it seemed Alice had successfully absorbed the power of the Eternal Divine Nation and even pulled Yiluo to fuse with the Eternal Divine Nation through their connection.

The bad news was that He Ao looked at the vaguely emerging brilliance and lightning within that dense mist.

Some other ’things’ had also been ’fused.’

The grey radiance likely came from a good friend, purple lightning was a signature of the Witch of Desire, the shining light was probably from the residual power of Eternal Light, and the crimson storm likely came from the power of the War God.

It’s enough for a mahjong table.

Hmm, maybe the incomplete Angel-grade Item left by Endir was also fused in.

Each additional power implies more ’connection’ with subsequent beings, and these powers likely are not fully compatible.

He Ao watched the card intensely.

Even with the power of Alice, plus the remnants of the Eternal Divine Nation, it was impossible to control so much Divine Power.

So there’s a high probability that other "powers" are involved.

These powers had four sources, the War God was dead, and the Eternal Light was driven away, leaving only a good friend and the Witch of Desire.

The power of the Witch of Desire, focused on destruction and emotion, might not be capable of such an effortless "fusion."

Was it the good friend, then?

After leaving the Copy World, what had the good friend done to cause such a grand fusion?

Was it intentional or accidental?

Did the Witch of Desire really discover nothing?

Given the strength of these two divine beings, even if Alice hid in the inner world, could these divine beings truly not find her?

He Ao gazed at this card.

Despite this, all of it wasn’t too far beyond his plan.

If these two divine beings had no ulterior motives, it would indeed be difficult for Alice to survive under their watch.

Specifically, He Ao had originally planned to utilize these ’special intentions’ to ’preserve’ Alice at the vortex’s center and thereby absorb and control the power of the Eternal Divine Nation.

Even the appearance of this character card wasn’t too far beyond his expectations.

In a sense, this character card, which had fused the powers of various divine beings, was dangerous, but in special circumstances, it might exert unexpectedly powerful effects.

After all, the more friends he had, the easier his journey would be.

Moreover, He Ao could also avoid some risks by only using the powers of the characters after exchanging the character cards.

As He Ao gazed, a pop-up also appeared.

[Do you wish to pay 9 Exchange Stars to exchange for "Eternal Obsession"? (Current available Exchange Stars: 0)]

The same as the [Phantom of Dreams]?

From this copy’s point of view, the comprehensive strength of "The Presumptuous" with seven stars could be equated to an incomplete angel or someone able to exhibit angelic power for a short duration.

Then, did a card worth nine exchange stars signify a true Angelic Tier?

While pondering, He Ao withdrew his gaze, and the interface of the character card slowly vanished from his field of view.

Lines of text started appearing in his vision.

[Evaluating Main Quest...]

[Main Quest Evaluation: ★★★★☆]

[Congratulations on completing the Main Quest]

[Other Tasks Evaluations will be settled soon, please wait...]

A four-and-a-half star main quest evaluation was within He Ao’s expectations.

Wint City was the largest city in the Federal Northwest and ranked in the top ten among all cities in the Federation.

Aside from the city map being relatively large, Wint City actually served as a holy city for religions and was also the stage for major cross-city powers like the Rockville Energy Group, Eternal Secret Teachings, Eternal Ancient Teachings, and even the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Thus, the scope influenced by this copy was actually even larger than that of the second city of the Federation, Vitland City, during its last copy.

Many enemies encountered in this copy, like the Ancient Teachings leader Bright, could have been final bosses in previous copies.

But in this copy, they were at most considered strong elite enemies.

Thus, often, He Ao had to exhaust himself running around to save the day since there really weren’t many ’companions’ who could assist him.

The only two ally C-levels, Lena was nurtured by him, and Gast was severely injured when rescued, yet he faced enemies of B-level as if they were handed out for free.

Eight days’ time, starting with a small coffin and ending with a major city region.

And the mastermind behind this copy, an Incomplete Angel-tier Endir, amounted to a mere projection of Eternal Light. If it weren’t for his many friends who came to help at the crucial moment, the difficulty of this mission would have drastically increased.

So all things considered, this copy’s difficulty surpassed all previous ones, even though the main quest’s rating increment was the hardest, it ought to increase this time.

Moreover, He Ao felt that this evaluation might exceed four and a half stars—it’s just that the system classified all ratings below five stars as four and a half stars.

He Ao’s gaze continued downward.

[Calculating your side quest evaluation...]

[Side Quest Evaluation: ★★★★☆]

Four and a half stars.

The side quest was an evaluation of hostile forces, it seemed that the attacks on Rockville Energy Group and the Eternal Secret Teachings were successfully carried out.

These two, strictly speaking, constituted an ’alliance.’ Although Rockville Energy Group, as one of the top five oldest consortia in the Federation, might not easily fall, they would nonetheless shed a layer of skin, and the Eternal Secret Teachings were likely obliterated entirely.

Together, these were sufficient to cause substantial regional impact.

This four and a half stars rating likely pointed toward the toppling of a ’regionally influential power with Federation-wide impact.’

[Hidden Task Evaluation: ★★★★★]

[Generating comprehensive evaluation interface, please wait.]

A light purple evaluation box appeared in He Ao’s field of view.

[Main Quest Evaluation:

With unparalleled unity, heart-stopping courage, and superhuman wisdom, you effortlessly unveiled the veil that had shrouded Wint City and the Federal West Coast for decades, piercing through the lies of connivers and revealing the most twisted darkness of Eternal Radiance before the eyes of the world.

You entered the game alone, thus breaking the game, your troops invisible, thus visible, and you cleverly used multiple avatars to blur the entire chessboard, revealing the darkness hidden within the brightness.

With your frail body, you accomplished a giant’s feat, your courage and wisdom awe-inspiring.

You walked in the city beneath the curtain, allowing the lost to see the way forward, bringing the profligate back on track, lighting up Dawn in the darkness, and putting an end to the twisted greed.

Countless lives on the brink of night were illuminated by the fire you kindled, parting the threads of fate, heading toward the Dawn beyond the storm.

Life and hope played the music of miracles, that is the eternal poem you composed.]

[Main Quest Evaluation: ★★★★☆]

[Main Quest Settlement Exchange Star: ★★☆]

He Ao gazed at this passage, it seemed indeed to be a key phrase in the system’s evaluation.

The system still varied its ways in praising.

His gaze moved away from those florid words, He Ao’s eyes settled on the final ’reward.’

Exchange stars two and a half!

He Ao quickly glanced past those beautiful words, the last main quest evaluation was four stars, the system only awarded one Exchange Star, but this time with a four and a half star rating, the system was unexpectedly generous, giving one and a half Exchange Stars.

Was it a different weighting? Or did the system also believe this task completion surpassed the ordinary four and a half stars rating, thus rewarding half an extra Exchange Star as a bonus?

He Ao’s gaze moved down to look at the text further below,

[Side Quest Evaluation:

Arrogance, greed, insatiable.

People’s perception of Rockville Energy Group, an ancient consortium standing in the Federation for centuries, is quite consistent.

Rockville seemed like a wolf that could never be fed enough, they strive to make their feeding appear elegant while constantly pursuing the freshest flesh.

They always take the richest fat but are perpetually thirsty for more.]

The Eternal Secret Teachings provided them with this opportunity; this alliance of shamefully colluding allies maintained their dignified facade through the most bloody and brutal methods.

Wint City was the first city they struck, but it would not be the last.

You started with the Security Union, from small to large, gradually dismantling this enormous alliance.

You began alone, but your followers never ceased.

Even the fiercest beast fears the united strength of ants, and even the most solid fortress can be toppled by shovels.

You held the reins of history, tore open the arrogant curtain of perceived destiny, and allowed those obscured by the curtain to look up at the sky.

You made everyone aware that fierce beasts could also feel fear, and thick curtains were not indestructible.

History would record your tracks, guiding people’s paths in immortal songs.]

[Side Quest Evaluation: ★★★★☆]

[Side Quest Star Exchange: ★★]

Four and a half stars, two exchange stars, the same as last time.

The main growth should be added to the main quests, but it seems that the weight of the main quests indeed exceeds that of side and hidden quests, and the same rating provides more star rewards.

[Hidden Quest Evaluation:

When the child lying in the nutrient pod saw his parents and brother being killed, the only feeling he could sense was his own helplessness.

He could do nothing but watch everything powerlessly as a bystander.

For a twelve-year-old child, what he expected was change, the power to change everything, the power to avenge his parents.

This is the pure thought of countless children who see their parents harmed; they are weak, humble, and powerless.

In countless hero stories, the child is the one who should be saved.

But he also yearned for power, to protect the parents who loved him, to become someone who could change everything.

The boy did not lack courage, but he was too weak.

Your advent brought hope and personally secured the future the boy dreamed of.

The weak are not humble, the helpless are not necessarily cowardly.

The light of a candle can also illuminate the dawn.]

[Hidden Quest Evaluation: ★★★★★]

[Hidden Quest Star Exchange: ★★]

Feeling the restoration and solidification of his soul, He Ao sighed.

When his parents and elder brother were protecting Yiluo, what the boy most desired inside was to protect those who were protecting him.

He Ao’s gaze swept over the final evaluation page.

[Your Comprehensive Task Evaluation: ★★★★☆]

[Your Comprehensive Task Star Exchange: ★★★★★★☆]

Still four and a half stars? Does it need to be five stars for all tasks to reach a five-star overall evaluation?

While He Ao was pondering, a new caption popped up.

[Since your comprehensive evaluation score is infinitely close to five stars but ultimately did not reach five stars, congratulations on triggering the ’Almost’ achievement]

[Almost: By obtaining this achievement, you immediately receive an extra star exchange; when the player’s comprehensive evaluation reaches five stars, an additional three stars can be obtained, only once; the task reward’s comprehensive evaluation part will be calculated as five stars during the settlement of the awards of the task obtained with this achievement.]

This achievement looks good, but why does it feel like it’s mocking me?
