“Hello,” she voiced anxiously.

“Hello, good day, am I on to Miss Marvel?”

The voice echoed over the phone, Arielle glanced her husband’s way before answering, she had not used his name in registering and wondered if he would have a problem with it, to be fair, she already got the form before their marriage registration got finalized.

“Yes, this is Arielle Marvel,”

She answered, turning away from Luciano.

“Good, this call is on behalf of the management of MSMS, we will like to inform you that you passed our entrance exams, you are welcome to our school, and you are to resume the new academic school year in two months, please visit the school websites for any other information, congratulations and have a great day,”

The voice at the end of the phone said and Arielle’s heart leaped for joy, she got in, she did it on her own.

“Thank you very much and have a pleasant day too,”

She said and the call ended.

“So?’

Luciano asked when she remained silent after the call ended, she slowly turned to him.

“Oh, baby, you can try again next year,”

He said getting up to hug her, she went into his arms, he must have mistook her tears for sadness.

“I did it, I got in,”

She let out when she was able to get her voice.

“Oh, why are you crying then?”

He asked in confusion.

“These are tears of happiness<”

“Wow, just when I thought I finally understand women, anyway, congratulations, you don’t have to wait a year-long,”

He said and she hugged him again, she was happy, happy that she got in on her own.

“Why didn’t you change your name? you are now a Siegel woman,”

He said and she mentally rolled her eyes, she knew he would not let it pass.

“I will, I got the form before our marriage was registered.”

Arielle pointed out.

“True, but make sure to correct it as soon as the school year begins, congratulations baby,”

He said and hugged her again, Arielle let out a happy and contented sigh, the fact that she had read and passed the exams even on short notice made it even more fulfilling.

“You know you are going to have to take more online classes, right? And you can’t stay in school past five pm because I want to meet my woman at all when I return from work,”

He said when they broke the hug.

“I know, I am aware, I won't stay past my curfew and I will make sure to be available when you need me,”

Arielle said, raising her hand in pledge, and they both laughed, his phone started ringing.

“I think you have a result to check too,”

She joked and they both laughed again as he picked up his call, Arielle watched as his demo changed and tensed up too, he didn’t look happy.

“Wait? What do you mean by that? What are you saying?”

Luciano yelled into the phone which got Ariel scared, whatever was going on should be very serious and she could feel the tension from him, she sat up waiting patiently for him to be done, he barked out orders to the person on the other end of the phone while pacing up and down, she didn’t understand what was going on because he was talking so fast and was basically telling the person on the other end of the phone what to do and what not to do.

“What’s going on?”

She asked when he finally dropped the call, she walked up to him.

“It is nothing that you should concern yourself about,”

He said, turned away from her and started typing on his phone, she couldn’t take that answer, not when he looked so pissed, she turned him to face her, he glared at her but she was much too concerned to let that stop her.

“What is going on, Luciano?”

She asked again.

“I told you, it is nothing, stay out of it,”

He answered as he continued typing on his phone, she knew she should take his answer and just keep quiet but whatever happened seemed to be bad, he looked tense.

“It doesn’t look like nothing when you are like this,”

She voiced, walking around him to stand in front of him.

“Why? What would telling you change? What will it help do? Can you fix it if I tell you? I told you it is none of your business so shut it, if I need help I know the right place to get the help from and it is certainly not you, step aside and know your fucking place,”

He yelled at her and Ariel felt like a fool for asking, she just really have forgotten her place for a moment, she nodded and walked out of the room without looking back, if only the semester have started, she would have just focused on her school, but she still needed to wait two full month before the new school year begins, until then, she knew better than to ask Luciano about his business, he didn’t want her asking him those things, he didn’t want her concern either, she was the one pushing the line.

It still hurt because up until that call came they had been fine, it hurt because all it took was one phone call for him to remind her where she stood in his life, maybe this was what she needed to not cross the line, maybe being comfortable around him wasn’t the right way to go, time to remember why she was here and her goal, but it still hurt, she blinked to keep the tears off but there was no stopping it, this time it wasn’t happy tears, she entered the room she had used when she had first come here, this was the first time she was entering the room in weeks as all her stuff have been moved to the room she now shared with Luciano, she walked to the bed and laid down as sad and angry tears fell from her eyes, one minute she had been happy and the next, her mood was ruined, so much for a happy marriage.
