Chapter 15: Chapter 15
Kastav
“Prince Kastav, I am just a servant. I am not sure that I can help you.” Faye said biting her plump lip, everything the girl does was pure seduction whether she was aware or not. Catia rolled her eyes like she would soon get tired of Faye attitude. That was one of the things which my younger sisters lack, patience but it was okay. As their elder brother, I was born with an abundance of it and I will use it to protect them.
“You know that you are more than that.” I answered her with a smile. “You are a queen, a beautiful damsel. The only one who caught the attention of my brother truly because his wife is just a connection. That is why you are the only one who can help me.”
“My Prince, I would really like to but I am not sure how…” Faye started but Catia rolled her eyes.
“Listen, I didn’t invite you to seat with us at the table because I liked your face, it is a fine one but you are underestimating yourself. You had all my brothers enthralled without even knowing it and that is why you are here. With a few conscious move, you can get the position you want. Hell you can even become the queen if you play your cards right but you need to work with us here. Now can you stop your self-deprecating act and let’s get to business?”
I sighed as I placed a hand on my head. My sister will not be the death of me. “Thank you Catia for frightening her.” I tell Catia who smiled at me like it was the right thing.
“But what Catia said is true, all you need is to pass tiny information across and change the positions of a few things and always report to us what the king is up to. Are you in?” I asked Faye.
“Still I am not sure if I am the right…” Faye started only for Catia to release a low growl. Faye jumped and then spoke fast. “I will think about it but in the meantime know that I will do nothing to hurt anybody and that I will tell no one of this conversation…”
“You better not, it will be your words against ours who is going to believe?” Catia asked.
“I will take my leave now.” Faye rushed out before she ran out of the room like the hounds of hell were after her.
After she left Catia grumbled. “You should have gotten a promise out of her that she will chose to work with us.”
“Free will goes a long way in dealings like this,” I tell my sister who shook her head stubbornly.
“Fear does more in inciting and getting good results in lesser time.”
“But she could run to the king, I want their relationship completely destroyed so that she will have no choice to come back to us. Now I am not against getting fast results Catia, but I want everything to be perfect and to get what lasts, you have to play the slow game.”
“What if she refused to join us?” Catia asked.
“Then a mishap happens to her, the king mourns and another maiden planted by us this time will seduce the king in his grief and secure a position of his concubine and we still get what we want.”
“Why not go with that firstly?” Catia asked with a pout.
“Because it would be better to use someone whom the king already trust.”

Gwenn
The next day, I was out of my room before daylight, grabbing the nearest Nisse, I asked to be taken to the kitchen and given a tour of the palace after I have had my breakfast, the kitchen had some dry meat and milk which was enough for me after all I had fed on less during my time spent at Dar. When I was done being shown different parts of the palace and the little tricks which I could use to identify where I was at that particular time, I thanked the Nisse who blushed and acted like I had done her the greatest service any one has ever done for her and then I went to the training courtyard, when I finally got there after losing my way only twice and retracing my steps without asking for help, I was in a good mood, already forgetting about the incident of the night before.
My mood plummeted when I noticed that the weapons which was available was for bigger men.
I didn’t notice her until she spoke.
“If you want something to fit your size, you better go into town and browse their stock there. They have weapons for all ages and one of the children own will surely fit.” Isolde said and just like how it was whenever someone shocks me, I react quickly by moving so fast I am a blur until I appear behind the person with my dagger in my hand and close to severing the person. I then take a moment to ascertain whether the person is a threat or not before I moved away.
I was not getting any threatening vibes from her but I didn’t remove my weapon from her neck, not when she nearly split my chest open when I came for the first time.
“Come on your majesty.” Isolde said and I could feel her eye roll. “Don’t tell me that your pride is still a little bruised, all I wanted to do was welcome you back and give your some pointers.”
“You insulted me about the children weapons…”
“No I didn’t.” She answered before she turned into mist and left my hold. “I am sorry, I would have continued to give you that false sense of winning but I don’t like being held against my will besides, I didn’t want to mistakenly kill you.”
“What do you mean by you didn’t?” I asked to remove the fear at which she just easily evaded me.
“Our children starts using real weapons at the age of five and they don’t stop, sometimes theirs are even sharper because it is not infused with our gift of protection which is only available if you are a member of the Wrath of Yama.
The whole army was being called that but this was the first time I heard it, it made me have a sense of belonging. I was a part of that.
“Thank you and I am sorry for jumping into conclusion.” I said and she smiled.
“Dar practice different?” She asked awkwardly.
“What?” I asked.
“They don’t give children real weapons?” She said and this time I smiled.
“No, very few of us are trained that way from when we are young. I was one of the lucky ones.” I replied and she nodded.
“Take care.” She clapped my shoulders and moved past me, as I turned to ask her where she was going. I saw three of her warriors standing and waiting for her and a little bit far from her was Sorens who was looking worried.
Seeing a face which I recognize and practically accepted as my friend made me happy. “Sorens.” I yelled just as I ran to him and jumped into his embrace. Same thing I did to Elison when I first saw him.
I know Sorens was shocked by my actions from the way his body was stiff.
“Loosen up, I consider you a very good friend of mine. Happy?” I asked and his body lost all tension before he wrapped his arms around my waist, squeezing me once before letting go.
“I am happy that you consider me to be a good friend for you to do this to but I have to mention that you are my queen. Things like this cannot be done in public.” Soren said uncomfortably.
“Relax, the only person who has right to complain is my husband and right now, I don’t want to see him. I would like to go into town today so that I can get some weapons which I can start learning to use and then I will like to get a whip and I want you to start teaching me all the things which I should know how to do both as a commander and a warrior of the army.”
“Wrath…” Sorens tried to correct me but I rolled my eyes at him.
“I know what it is called but right now I prefer using army.” Then my voice changed to display my insecurity. “I am not the wrath of anything yet that is why I have to learn.”
Sorens sighed then placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. “Give it time My Queen, you will soon be one of the most feared persons here, I promise.”
“Just as I promise to make your punishment more severe if you don’t remove your hand from my wife’s body this very instant.” Arius voice roared behind me.
