Chapter 78: Chapter 78
Chapter 78
"How's the feeling, Pershey?" Iries asked.
"I feel I'm really embarrassed but like you said, I boost my confidence," she replied before going straight to the fitting room. Pershey remained standing on the side of the fitting room door.
"What are you doing there?" Iries asked. Pershey just nodded, so she handed the gown to Pershey.
Iries left for a while to look for Leighden. She went out to look for Leighden.
She saw Leighden approaching and just entering. She noticed Leighden's annoyed face.
Leighden entered without even glancing at her. She was surprised by Leighden's strange behavior.
She also sat down next to her and asked her. "Why don't you seem in the mood?"
Leighden just shrugged as if she heard nothing.
“Hey! Why can't you paint your face? ” she asked again.
"Nothing," she replied sparingly.
"Why are you like that now?" she asked again.
She closed her eyes tightly because she was annoyed with her.
"Nothing," she replied irritatedly. Her forehead was furrowed.
"Why are you angry? I'm just asking you. ”
“You keep asking questions! I said no! Nothing! ” she rushed away. She met Pershey who had just come out of the fitting room.
Even she was ignored by Leighden even though the two of them had already met.
She noticed Leighden couldn’t paint the face, so she wondered what had happened. It crossed her mind that she and Iries might argue again.
She approached Iries as she adjusted the zipper of the gown behind her.
"What's wrong with her?" She asked while still adjusting the zipper.
Iries stood up and helped her, then she answered, “She’s out of her mood and got easily irritated when I asked her. I just asked her.” She also fixed Pershey's hair because Leighden was not there. They both don’t know where Leighden went.
"But, why?"
“I don’t know. Maybe, you should ask her and let her cool her head. She might be just hungry or just out of her mood. She looks so frustrated. ”
She went in front of Pershey to check her appearance to see if it was okay or not.
"You can do it, right?"
She nodded with a smile. They remained so silent.
Pershey just smiled at how nervous she was.
"I'm nervous for the talent portion," said the candidate to her assistant. They heard what she said so they looked at them. They came a little closer to hear more of what they were talking about.
"Relax, Sansa," said her make-up artist.
They returned to their former position, wondering.
"Talent portion?" Iries asked herself in confusion. That was also the question Pershey asked herself.
When they looked at each other, they both realized their suspicion was wrong, so they both laughed. They thought the fashion show was later so Pershey wore a different gown.
Sansa noticed them because of their laughter. She thought she might be the one they were laughing at so they both laughed.
Her heartbeat quickened with anger, and she stood up suddenly without even taking her eyes off them.
"Stay here, Sansa," her make-up artist whispered to her and held her arm to stop her from leaving. Explosively and violently, she removed the make-up artist's hand and left.
They were both unaware that Sansa was approaching them. The eyebrows meet and she look bad.
"I'm wearing the wrong gown," she said laughing. They even laughed and suddenly they stopped laughing when Sansa stopped in front of them.
Sansa grabbed Pershey's arm tightly and forcibly stood up. She still held on tightly. They face each other.
They have no knowledge of what Sansa is doing.
They were very surprised at what Sansa suddenly did especially when they saw Sansa's angry face while looking at them.
“What the hell is wrong with you ?!”
She tightened her grip on Pershey's arm causing Pershey to wince. She seemed to be very close to Pershey.
“Are you fucking crazy?! Get your hand off her! ”
Sansa's evil look turned to her. She was furious.
Her breathing quickened because of the hatred in her chest because she thought she was the one they were laughing at.
She turned her gaze back to Pershey. Pershey moaned at Sansa's tight grip on her arm.
They are confused by what Sansa is doing.
"What's wrong with you again, huh ?!"
Sansa still didn't say a word and tightened the grip on her arm.
Iries couldn't stand what Sansa was doing to Pershey, so she forcibly pulled Sansa's arm causing Sansa to suddenly face her.
Sansa looked at her deeply but she still didn't let go of Sansa's arm.
“Get your hands off her! I warn you, Sansa! You won't like me if I get mad,” she threatened.
She tries to hold back, so that she won't hit Sansa again. She didn't want to get into trouble.
"S-sansa, y-you're hurting me," Pershey moaned at her and held out her hand to remove it.
Sansa's blood was boiling so hard that she tightened her grip on Pershey's arm even more.
“What's your problem, huh?! L-l-let me go!”
She had already removed her hand from Pershey's arm even though it was against her will.
"Are you laughing at me?" Sansa asked so irritated by them.
Iries laughed in annoyance because she already realized the reason why Sansa was just like that. "Is that why you suddenly rushed here because you thought you were the one we were laughing at?"
Sansa was speechless because of what she said. Shut her mouth.
"Have some common sense, Sansa," she added. Annoyance could be heard in the tone of her speech.
Pershey took a deep breath then spoke calmly. “For your knowledge, Sansa, we're not laughing at you, okay? Not you." She even caressed her arm which was red from Sansa's tight grip earlier.
Sansa didn't believe it and laughed at their annoyance. “Liar!” she insisted.
“If you don't want to believe, don't! Easy! ”
“Sansa, we don't have time to argue with you, okay? To make it clear, we're laughing because we thought it was a Q&A portion now in case we heard from you that it was just a talent portion. And this gown I'm wearing is for Q&A and not for talent portion,” Pershey explained then let out a sigh.
Sansa's chest slowly calmed. She took a deep breath before she spoke. "Okay, fine." She has left.
Iries and Pershey looked at each other when Sansa left.
"She's too crazy," Iries said.
"Just leave her alone," Pershey replied.
"Okay, you have to change now."
The gown was immediately handed to her and she changed as well.
They are both facing the mirror. Iries combs Pershey's hair. Pershey smiled as she examined herself in front of the mirror.
"You're beautiful, too." She smiled even more because of what Iries said.
Before Pershey could turn around, Leighden ran up to her.
They were shocked by her sudden arrival.
Leighden smiled at her even though she was still catching her breath. She just smiled even though she was a little confused by Leighden's actions now.
"Goodluck," said Leighden.
She held Pershey's hands tightly before she even climbed on stage.
There is a seat in the middle of the stage. In front of the seat, there is a microphone stand and there are two microphones.
Meanwhile, while Iries and Leighden were backstage, they remembered that Pershey had not brought the guitar she was going to use.
Pershey was about to sit down when she remembered the guitar, so she was slightly alarmed and worried. She lost the guitar in her mind. It never occurred to her that she needed the guitar.
She hid the feeling of apprehension and smiled at the audiences even though she didn’t know what she was going to do. She cannot be confused because she will surely be defeated.
She turned her way into the backstage. From there, Leighden came out and went up on stage carrying the guitar. She smiled as Leighden approached.
She was given the guitar and she took it.
Leighden said softly, “Goodluck,” and then she went backstage.
Pershey sat up while the guitar was on her thighs. She adjusted the microphone to fit in her mouth. He also adjusted the microphone at the bottom so that the microphone was even more in line with the guitar.
The audience was silent as she slowly played the guitar.
"I've been livin 'with a shadow overhead ...," Pershey sang softly that surprised all the spectators. Even her family could not believe what they were hearing now.
"She's my child," Yuna said to herself.
"She's perfectly a good singer," Sheraine commented, which they agreed.
"Our daughter knows how to sing," said Pethe, Pershey's father.
That was the first time they heard Pershey's voice singing. Because Pershey doesn't like to sing and they haven't heard Pershey sing yet, so they are very shocked by what they hear and see now.
Very tender as if sleepy to listen to.
Even Caleb couldn't believe it. He was almost amazed at the beauty of Pershey's voice.
It was still the first time Neil had heard Pershey sing, so every lyric Pershey uttered penetrated Neil's chest.
His mind was once again wrapped up in many things. Even their memories came back to Neil's mind. He felt the tightness of his chest and the sudden heaviness of his chest.
“... is find a way back into love. ”
Neil stood up to leave when Pershey's gaze suddenly shifted from their seat.
The emotion that matches the song 'Way back into love' is there and can be seen.
Even before the end of the song, he announced that he was leaving first.
When he came out, he was shocked to see that the sky was dark. It's late at night.
The surroundings are full of lights that illuminate the place.
He went for a walk to amuse himself and to avoid provocative sadness.
When he got tired of walking, he went to a restaurant. He opened the ones and closed the door again.
He went to his office. Just at the door, what happened before came to his mind again. He couldn't help but smile sweetly which was soon replaced by a bitter smile.
He sat down and picked up the photo album with the black cover in the drawer under the table. He opened it and the stolen photos of a woman popped up.
Every page he flips are pictures of Pershey he sees. Those photos were taken by himself without Pershey's knowledge.
He picked up his cell phone and played a melodious song.
He listens to the song while looking at Pershey's stolen photos.
