Chapter 49: Chapter 49
Triffany woke up the next morning, she looked over to the sleeping Carlos who was on the bed, she signed. She thought she have become more than someone close to him but she is only a stranger to him.
Even her feelings which she opened up to him, still all she was, is a stranger and then what was the bathing together the sleeping on the same bed together for.
Well truthfully he had been honest to her, he told her that she's like a bathtub and a pillow, and now they are even strangers. She exhaled softly.
She looked at the time. "Oh my god!" She exclaimed. "I'm going to run late." She rushed into the bathroom, brush her teeth, took her bath and dressed up.
She applied a light makeup, then she took her system and the things she had worked on.
She looked over as Carlos one last time before stepping out of the room and was greeted by Gabby who just came out of her room.
"Morning Triffany." She got the same smiling face Triffany had seen the day she got back from the honeymoon trip with Carlos.
"Morning, how was your night?" Triffany asked, happy to see Gabby this happy after yesterday's tears.
"Very good." Gabby smiled. "No nightmares." She added.
"I'm glad."
"Going somewhere?" Gabby looked at Triffany who was dressed in a with white shirt and black straight skirt, looking all business like, and with her bag.
"Yes, to work." Triffany told her.
Gabby smiled broadly and gave her a big hug. "Good luck." She knew how much Triffany want to dress up each morning and go to an office for work and it seems that wish had finally come to pass.
"Thank you Gabby.."
Gabby looked around. "Where is Carlos?"
"He's still asleep." Tiffany told her.
Gabby closed her eyes and opened them back. "Tsk, he should wake up and tell his wife good luck." She was expecting Carlos to be good to Triffany from now on, but he keep on disappointing her.
Tiffany smile. "You word covers for him." She was not even expecting someone who think of her as a stranger to tell her good luck.
Gabby held her hand and smile. "You're too good for Carlos." She said seriously and wink her with a smile.
Triffany grins, at least Gabby doesn't see her as a stranger. "I'll take that as a compliment then."
"You wouldn't want to be late, give them your best shot okay?" "Okay." Triffany winks her. "Thanks." With that she left the house.
The maids prepared and served breakfast, few minutes later Carlos came downstairs . "Morning boss man." Gabby greeted him.
"Hello tiger." He peeked his sister's cheek. "How was your night?"
"Awesome, lets eat breakfast." They sat down to eat as Carlos looked at his sister.
"Any plans today?"
Gabby shook her head. "No, not really. I'll just stay at home today."
"Then let's go stay at home together, watching movies." Carlos told her with that cute knowing smile.
Gabby looked at her brother surprised. "Why? Aren't you going to work today?" She asked him raising the corner of her brow.
"I've miss staying with my kids sister." Carlos said this thing to make up for all those times he had been overworking himself and not spending more time with his sister.
Gabby smiled happily. "Then let's have a pool party." This always happens once in a lifetime. "And invite your friends over." She giggle. "What do you say about that?" She looked at her brother expectantly.
Carlos pretend to be contemplating for a while, before he flashed her a cute smile. "Okay, let's do that."
Gabby was so happy that she made a little dance with her shoulders. "All right. I'll invite Blake, you invite Eric and Garrett."
Carlos paused and look up at her. "Wait a minute, why are you going to invite Blake yourself?" He raised the corner of his brows. "You're acting suspicious Gabby.
"Well..." Gabby looked down at her meal. "I don't want you going through so much pain or stress inviting all three of them, let me help you with one."
Carlos studied her for a while. "Okay. I hope you're not doing what I'm thinking?"
Gabby rolled her eyes at him. "We are no more in the 90's so stop acting like a detective." She looked up at his face with a frown.
"Okay, fine." Carlos smiled.
Gabby put her hands on.her chin. "I wish Triffany was home too."
Carlos pause, he looked at Gabby. "Where is she?"
Gabby looked at her brother because he was unbelievable. "Oh my! Carlos come on..."
Carlos chuckled. "Okay." He narrowed his eyes. "I'm aware she went to work so.."
Gabby shook her head. "Just eat your breakfast, you didn't even wish her good luck." She frowned, after all Triffany did yesterday he was still acting like a jerk."You should change Carlos, and for good."
Carlos sip his tea. "The tea taste delicious." He smile.
Gabby shook her head, she know her brother was trying to change the topic, he was really unbelievable. "Changing the topic again." She just focused on her breakfast, knowing that when ever he act this was, it means he was no longer interested in the topic.
Carlos Zack mansion was lively that afternoon as his friends came over and they decorated the poolside for the pool party.
Gabby was already wearing her bikini suit and the others were wearing their swim shorts as they drink wine while chatting.
"Carlos." Garrett turned to him.
"Yes."
"Who came up with this idea?" He pointed at the pool party stuff.
Carlos looked at Gabby who was swimming in the pool with Blake and Eric. "Me." He smiles. "I wanted to spend sometime with my sister."
He looked at Garrett. "You know, after yesterday's memorial. I need to cheer her up and there she is smiling." He watch Gabby laughing as she threw ball with Blake and Eric.
"You're a good brother." Garrett smile. "So thoughtful, but you're not a good husband."
"Huh!" Carlos frowned as he turned his face to Garrett. "Why did you say that?"
Garrett seems calm, he had been friends with Carlos since childhood, so he doesn't feel scared talking to him this way. "Look around, Triffany is not here. Don't you feel that something is missing?"
"No." Carlos sip his wine slowly. "Everything is just so perfect." He said nonchalantly and smile as Garrett was confused. "I'm with my sister and friends." He smirk.
"But not your wife..."
"She's probably at work having fun." Carlos cut him off. His brow knitted as he looked at him.
"Fun?" Garrett was surprise, how can she be having fun at work, his friend was saying nonsense.
"Yes." He sip his wine.
"How?" Garrett asked curiously.
"Hey Carlos!" Gabby called out. "Come join us, come on." She waved him over.
"I'm coming." Carlos smile and drop down his wine glass. He looked at Garrett. "I better go now, can't keep my princess waiting." He smile. "Let's go have fun Garrett." He said seriously.
"Okay." Garrett knew that topic had ended there, so he dropped his wine glass and dive into the pool.
Splash!
Gabby laughs. "Gosh!" She splashed them water. "That was a great splash!"
"Catch!" Eric threw the ball to Carlos as he caught it.
"Gabby I guess you should chase." Blake smile.
"Hey! That's unfair." Gabby pout.
Carlos threw the ball to Garrett. "Don't tell me you want to back out without a try." Garrett wink her and moved back with the ball.
This was a challenge to Gabby and she smirked. "Try me then." She move to get the ball from him but her threw it to Blake. "No...no.." Blake threw the ball to Eric.
"Should we give you a head start?" Eric asked her with a cunning smile on his lips.
"Oh come on." She hits the water with her two hands and there was a splash. She move to take the ball from Eric but he threw it to Carlos.
"Carlos am your sister, hand it over." She stretched her hands showing him her white well arranged set of teeth.
"That's right." Carlos smile and stretched the ball out for her. "Come get it." He said softly as she swim over to take it but he threw it to Garrett. "Oh, sorry kid sister." He stick out his tongue.
"Hey you're so childish." She frown. "Remember, I do paybacks." They all chuckled as she went after the ball agitated.
After a long play in the pool, they all came out and lay on the pool chair, sipping their wine.
"I miss Triffany already." Gabby said softly, she knew if she was here, then her brother will become much of a talker and she gets to watch their dramas.
"Me too." Eric added, but Carlos pretend not to be listening to them.
"It would have been more fun to have her around." Blake sip his wine.
Gabby looked at the time. "Shouldn't she be getting back now?"
Carlos subconsciously looked at his wrist watch and frown. "Can we please talk about something else?" They all turned their head to him.
"Don't you miss her?" Garrett asked.
"Oh my!" Carlos glare at all of them. "Why should I? She would be back soon and i saw her last night, so why should I miss her? Huh!"
"He's got a point." Eric muttered.
"No he don't!" Gabby sighed, her brother always act like a convincing jerk.
Carlos scoffed as he turned to his sister. "Gabby you should get a friend soon. Female ones I mean." He demonstrated with his finger.
Gabby rolled her eyes. "Please don't start with that now."
"Then do the same." Carlos retorts. Gabby glare at him, while he smile, knowing that he had just own this round.
"Why don't we play a game?" Blake suggested to stop their bickering.
"Good idea." Carlos smile.
"I'm in." Garrett raised his hands.
"I'm in too." Eric added.
"What type of game is that?" Gabby asked and they all laugh at her. "What!" She furrowed her brow.
"Poor thing." Carlos shook his head, with a thin smile on his lips.
Gabby rolled her eyes, she knew they were making fun of her now, but who cares. "I'm in." They all chuckled.
"Gabby It's truth or dare." Blake tod her the game. "If you can't dare, then will have to drink." He smile.
Just then they heard footsteps and they all turned their head to see who it was. "Triffany!" Gabby smiled broadly like she had just won a trophy.
