Chapter 42: Chapter 42
Triffany got to the movie theatre and met with Tommy who put on a smile immediately he saw her. "Hi Triffany." He walked close to her. “I’m glad you made it, I was thinking you cancelled on me.”
Triffany can see how happy Tommy was, he has always been this way since he saw her again. “I’m didn’t and whereas this movie will help calm my mind.” She looked at the him with a smile.
“What movie are we watching?”
Tommy touched his hair shyly. “Romance.” She saw how shy he was and couldn’t help but smile.
He was really cute. “I love that type of movie.”
“Really?” he brightens up, he had planned to make today perfect and he was thinking she won’t appreciate the idea of watching a romantic movie.
“Let’s go in.” She was already aware that he had both the tickets.
“Just a minute.” Tommy excused himself, he bought them two cup of popcorn and juice. He handed one to Triffany who smiled at him.
This was something she should be doing with her husband, but unfortunately, her relationship with him was not like that. He care more about his company and won’t want to go anywhere with her.
He only prefers spending time with his ex-girlfriend.
Tommy and Triffany went inside to see the movie, they sat down on the middle of the hall as the movie begin. Triffany concentrated on the movie but Tommy was just staring at her.
Tommy tries to reach for her hands but stops himself from doing it. He noticed Triffany smiling. “It’s funny right?”
“Hmm..” Triffany looked at him, she had smiled because she saw a scene that had reminded her of Carlos.
“You smiled, so I guess them kissing in the movie was funny.” Tommy said, the scene that had made her smile was a kissing scene.
“Ah…Yes.” She nods and turned her attention back at the movie, she had come her to clear her mind from thinking of Carlos but now she was still thinking of him,
She sipped her juice, by all means she have to stop herself, all she know was this, Carlos will never love her. He had not only seen her as a bathtub but also a pillow, she told herself not to expect anything from that man, cause to him, Kelsey is more important.
…
Carlos was spacing around the sitting room close to the entrance door. He checked the time from time to time, it was already nine o’clock and she was not back yet.
He picked up his phone to call her but puts it down on second thought, if he call her she will think he miss her. He checked the time again, watching as the clock tick. “Is she in trouble?” That thought runs through his mind but he shook it off.
Gabby came inside and saw her brother checking the time as he space around the room. “Worried about me?” She asked.
Carlos looked up immediately thinking it was Triffany, but was disappointed when it was not her. “You’re back.” He said softly and looked down at his phone.
Gabby sighed, she had noticed the look on her brothers face when he saw her. “I guess it’s not me this time.” She sat on the sofa and crossed her leg.
Her brother’s worried expression was so visible even if he tries to mask it and he was still spacing around. “Can you please stop spacing around and tell me what’s wrong?” She crossed her arms and ask.
“Nothing.” He sat down on the chair and forced a smile.
Gabby rolled her eyes, she knows a forced smile when she see it. “Don’t be a jerk…I know you’re worried.” She raised the corner of her brow. “Is Kelsey alright?” she asked, knowing that only Kelsey can make Carlos this worried.
Carlos frowned and she panicked even more. “Why? Is something wrong? Is she hurt?”
“Can you please stop saying Kelsey?” Carlos sharp voice made her shock, she looked at her brother and noticed how cold his face was.
She was terrified to speak for a while, but Gabby is always Gabby. “Now something is definitely wrong.” She said seriously. “Tell me Carlos.” She pressed him for answer.
Carlos narrowed his eyes. “There is nothing to talk about.” He look away.
Gabby relaxed on her chair, watching him intently. “You know, Grandpa told me something about Kelsey.” Carlos looked at her and Gabby smiled, she always know how to get someone talking, she knows how to grab his attention.
“What did he say?”
Gabby cleared her throat, she had learnt that you have to share an information you have to get more information. “He said you were blinded by the love you have for her and he had to make you understand.”
Carlos raised his brow, and Gabby knew instantly that her grandpa was right. “Carlos what is wrong?”
“So grandpa knew all along but wanted me to see for myself.” He muttered. Should he be grateful to Ethan or should he get angry that he didn’t come clean on all these and still made him get married to Triffany all in the name of the company.
“I’m tired of these parables Carlos.” Gabby said impatiently. “You know how I hate when you make me think or try to solve a puzzle. So tell me straight and direct. What did Kelsey do?”
Carlos turned to her, he knew she was not going to give up until he spill everything to her. “Kelsey never loved me.” His word made her shock. “She was playing with my feelings all these while.”
Gabby shook her head, the words was unbelievable. “That’s not true. Kelsey have been there with you since childhood and she loves you.”
“No Gabby, she has someone else. She wanted me to divorce Triffany before she tells me.” He closed his eyes. “I overheard everything from her own lips.” The memory was so bitter that it made his heart ache again.
He looked at his sister with his deep sad eyes. “All these years I fell in love sincerely to the wrong person.” He rubs his eyes. “Gabby, Kelsey was playing a game with my feelings.
Gabby stood up and hugged Carlos, she pat his back gentle, how he must have felt when he discovered, the pain he must have gone through was unimaginable and he kept it all to himself.
She looked at her brother as she remembered Blake’s word about them being losers in love. “What will you do now?” She asked softly.
Carlos looked at the large wall clock, it was already past nine. “I’m going to get mad at someone.” He said coldly.
Gabby raised her brow. “I hope that someone isn’t Triffany, because you can’t put the blame of all this on her again.” She frowned.
“You’ve hurt her enough, now should be the time you focus on your wife and love her.” She folds her arms with a furrowed brow.
“She doesn’t love me, why should I love her.” Carlos said with his deep cold voice.
“Does she know you don’t see Kelsey again?” Gabby asked him.
Carlos runs his hands through his forehead. “No.”
Gabby shook her head, truly her brother has no clue. “How then do you expect her to love you?” Gabby
“Who cares if she do?” Carlos tried his best to keep an indifferent look.
Gabby scoffed, her brother was acting so tough so she had to act even tougher. “I’m going to release a room for her and she can move into it then.”
“What!” Carlos lifts his eyes immediately. “Why?”
Gabby was happy to see his shock expression. “So that you can have all the space you need…”
“I’m used to her noise and I’m no longer complaining.” He said seriously and Gabby flashed him her white set of teeth with a satisfied grin. “Hey, don’t get the wrong idea.”
Gabby raised her brow slight and made a little dance with her shoulder. “I have already gotten the wrong idea.” She stick out her tongue. “Don’t worry she’s not going to move out.”
Gabby was happy, since this was the right time to get Carlos and Triffany fall in love with each other, Triffany only have to know that Carlos was no longer with Kelsey. “Is she upstairs?”
“No, she went out since seven-thirty and is not back yet.” He knitted his brow as the thought of her out there this late with another man annoys him.
Gabby just realized not that Triffany was not home she smiled and turned to him. “That explains why you’ve been spacing around and checking the time.” She blinks cutely. “Gosh! You miss her already.’
“That’s not true.” Carlos glared at her.
“Finally my brother is opening his shell. Hope you both make babies soon.” She said and ran towards her room before he get to her.
“Gabby!” He shouted, but Gabby had already enter her room and shut the door. He covered his face and smile to himself. “Babies? Boy or girl.”
He shakes the thought off, it was to early for him to think babies. He checked his time as he got up and head upstairs. He stood at the balcony looking outside, watching for any sign of her.
