Chapter 18: Chapter 18
Three days later.
After Carlos Zack and Triffany's wedding ceremony, they went to California on a honeymoon, just to ensure the press and their parent's satisfaction against their will
Triffany Joey sat down on the balcony of the hotel they lounge in, it was close to a beach so she watched the water, she looked back and through the glass door, she saw Carlos going through some documents.
It has been like this since they arrived here, she has been in this room watching the beach and spacing around.
Triffany exhaled softly, it was a boring day for her as well today, if she was married to the man she loved and to a man who loved her, they will prepare breakfast together, then go out for sightseeing, maybe to a museum or a park.
What was the need of coming to such a beautiful place when she can't do those things, what a waste of money? She rests her chin on her hands looking at the water.
An idea pop into her head, she can do these things herself, it will be more fun going alone than with this man she married.
She went into the room they shared, well not like they share the bed, she lay on the couch and him on the comfortable bed.
They have agreed to do this after their marriage, they don't love each other anyway.
She put on a beach coloured dress that stopped at her knees and a white hat with her sunglasses, she smiled at her image in the mirror, she was always proud of her looks and she winks herself.
She doesn't need any compliment from anyone, it has always been this way. She puts some cash and her phone into her small white bag and puts it across her shoulder, then wore her flats.
She was good to go, she walked close to the room door to leave. "Hey!" Carlos called out and she stopped.
She turned to face him.
"My name is Triffany." She told him simply with a furrowed brow.
"I don't care. Where are you heading to?" He asked looking her all over.
Triffany rolled her eyes. "It's none of your business. Mind your business." She blurts out.
"You're in a foreign land." Carlos put down the document in his hands and leans back on his chair. "I'm sure you've not been here before, I can't let you wander about like you're crazy." He raised his brow.
Triffany scoffed. "When did you start caring?" She asked. This was the first day they have talked ever since they arrived here.
Carlos stands up and put his hands in his pocket as he sat on the desk to look at her. "Point of correction, I'm not worried. I just don't want to be spotted as a man who took a crazy lady to a foreign country and she gets lost."
Triffany bits her lower lips and looked at him arching her brow. "It's been two days since we arrived here, I have not looked around, it's such a waste of money." She blinks.
Carlos raised the corner of his lips. "It's my money. I'm not complaining." He folds his arm.
Triffany was already tired of all this talk, she frowned. "Can you please just continue what you were doing?" She pointed at the desk with documents. "I don't like sitting still, being bored is not in my veins."
She opened the room door to leave but stopped and look at him. "And one more thing. You don't own me." She said coldly and walked out of the room and out of the hotel.
Carlos runs his hands through his hair. "She's a pain!" He spits. He walked over to his wine cellar and poured himself a white wine and looked out of the lobby.
If only he came here with Kelsey as his wife, Kelsey, he misses her, he closed his eyes and sip his wine gently.
...
Kelsey sat down at her office with her friend Abbey. "Have he called you?" Abbey asked her after they finished discussing business.
"No."
"He's married now, I'm sure they are having fun right now, what would they do on their trip if not that." Abey leans back on her chair.
Kelsey turned to look at her friend, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Carlos doesn't love her, don't think nasty." She said nonchalantly.
"Point taken, but, you're so relaxed." Abbey doesn't understand her friend, she has just lost Carlos to Triffany and was not angry or acting up, she was cool with it.
"Yes." Kelsey raised her brow and smile. "When they return, I will have my way and start my plan."
Abbey shakes her head. "You have changed to bad Kelsey."
"I have to." Kelsey stopped smiling and her eyes darkened. "I hate when something that belongs to me gets taken away."
"I know. This is different Kelsey."
"Abbey please." Kelsey looked at her. "Support me in this card u want to play, I will be grateful if you do."
Abbey closes her eyes and opened them again. "I just don't want you to get hurt."
Kelsey exhaled sharply. "I'm already hurt, Abbey. I've decided to do this and it's final."
After few moments of silence. "Let's just go back to business. Tell me, have the distributors called yet?" Kelsey asked.
"Yes. They will officially move the goods on the fifth of the month."
"Okay. Let's know if any other matter arises." Kelsey flips the pages of the documents on her desk.
"Okay." Abbey looked at her for a while before leaving the office, she knew that Triffany was not at fault here, but she will still stand by her friend, that is what friends do.
Blake and Gabby were hanging out, they ate ice cream together at an ice cream shop. "You're out of your mind Gabby." Blake laughed at the words that Gabby told him.
"I'm only saying the truth, can't you see how her ass is? She needs a butt enlargement." Gabby smiled.
"Did you enlargement yours?" Blake stares at her.
"Am not crazy, I was born with a good butt." Gabby chuckle.
Blake shook his head and stare at her beautiful face. "You're so naughty."
Gabby lean close to the table, Blake and her have been going out for the past three days now, not as couples but friends, she was still teaching him how to treat his girlfriend right. "Admit it, Blake, I've got a nice behind."
"Everyone knows you're a princess," Blake said nonchalantly.
"I hope everyone does, but Blake, you do look at ladies behind whenever they walk past you, don't you?" She raised her eyebrow slightly with a grin. "Admit it, Blake."
Blake runs his hands through his hair, Gabby was one hell of a lady and he can't lie to her. "Yes I do, my eyes can't just see a moving car and not look."
Gabby laughs. "Gosh, men will always be men." She ate her ice cream. "How is your girlfriend doing?"
"She's good." Blake stops smiling.
"Is there any improvement?" Gabby asked.
"Yes, when I have a professional teacher like you." Blake smile.
"You're right." Gabby felt proud.
"Have your brother called?" Blake asks her, he hasn't heard from Carlos since he left on his honeymoon.
"He is enjoying himself, he is newlywed." Gabby stretched the last words which made Blake laugh.
"I'm not sure about that?" Blake shake his head, they both know that Carlos and his new wife will never enjoy themselves, they both hate each other and all of them are aware of it.
"I just can't wait to watch their drama Blake, like their first meeting, they were like cat and dog."
"You're not serious," Blake said with a smile, he hasn't seen them together to know if they fight or not.
"I am. They are a perfect match." Gabby chuckle, she was anticipating the scene she will watch when they both return from the honeymoon.
"You know Carlos love Kelsey," Blake said, not agreeing to the fact that Triffany and Carlos were a perfect match.
"I know Blake." Gabby stop smiling and looked him in the face. "I also feel bad for them, but Blake, have you consider that lady's feeling, getting mixed up with rich people and getting married to someone like my brother. Blake, it is a double hurt, so don't mention it."
"I forgot you are a professional in this." Blake exhaled softly.
They silently ate their ice cream, Gabby have already made up her mind to be at Triffany's side, she knows that Triffany will be lonely in their world if she doesn't make it fun for her.
...
California.
Carlos sat down typing a document with his computer when Triffany comes back, she kept her bag, today have been fun for her, now she was famished.
She opened the fridge to take something to eat. "Don't touch those, they are mine," Carlos said coldly looking up at her.
Triffany turned to face him, she blinks. "You are married to me, so I can eat whatever you buy." She said and picked up a parked meal.
Carlos walked up to her and took the park meal from her and raised the corner of his brow. "You told me you don't want anything from me cause I'm rich, so you're not having this meal, if you want to eat, go out and buy a meal for yourself."
Triffany looked at him, she remembered saying this but now it is telling back at her. "Okay." She left the room to take a shower while Carlos returns to his computer and work.
A few minutes later Triffany was dressed with her nightgown and lay on the couch where she does sleep, she was chatting and laughing loudly.
"Hey you're loud can you keep it low!" Carlos snapped, she was distracting him.
"If you find me loud you should leave the room." Triffany looked up at him, not taking his shit.
"You're so unbearable." Carlos runs his hands through his hair.
"I'm sure you have had a lot of alone time since I left you this afternoon, now leave me be too." Triffany looked down at her phone again.
Carlos sighed. "It is me that paid for the hotel so I can't leave. Stop laughing!" He raised his deep voice.
Triffany scoffed and sit up on the couch. "Are you trying to brag to me that you have a lot of money and I don't?"
"We both know that," Carlos smirked.
Triffany stands up and frowned. "I know you don't love me and I don't love you either, but asking me to live like a mouse in this place cause you paid for it with your money is unbearable." She walked close to the door.
"Where are you going?" He asked her, this was not what he meant.
"Somewhere I won't act like a mouse." She puts on her flat and coat, picked up her bag and left the hotel room.
Carlos shook his head and continue what he was doing, after that Carlos took his bath and dressed up for bed. He looked at the time and Triffany hasn't returned yet.
He drank a glass of wine and space around the room, she was not still back so he went to bed and slept off without worry.
