Closing my eyes and taking a calming breath, I looked at them

Adrian comes down from stairs from his study, just as his mother looked at him, she quickly approached him and hugged him while kissing his cheeks

Jerk, you are so lucky, who have such a loving family ask an orphan  like me who don't have love of parents in their life since childhood and you don't even have any idea how people will treat you if you don't have parents

His mother came towards me, with a blank face and I felt a sudden feeling of  heaviness that expands in my core

What if she will insult me

"So, your name is Emberly,"

I nodded smiling a little while I felt sweat forming on my forehead because her gaze makes me feel like she is judging me

"Why you're with my son because he is a Billionaire and richest man on earth, be honest with me are you with for his money," she frowned at me looking at my appearance

I stepped back and felt my cheeks rising heat

How can she ever think like this about me she doesn't even know me

"Ma'am, I am not with your son for his money, I can take care of my own financial needs, I never need a man for that, trust me, and if you have this much problem with me then you can ask your son, I was not the one who first proposed for marriage, it's your son," I said in one breath without even stopping

She moved closer to me and smiled this time, her eyes have a spark in them

I tilted my head back at her behavior

She quickly hugged me, I gasped little with sudden impact

I was starting at the wall in front of me, while my mind can't see understand what is happening here

She pulled back grinning genuinely

"You are the perfect wife for my son, I am so happy that finally, he married the right girl," she said nodding at her husband who is lightly shaking his head and smiling at us

"W...what," I stuttered at her, with furrowed brows some time back she was judging me and now she suddenly behaves like I am so precious for her

She caressed my hair "I was testing you, and I saw the truth with virtue in your eyes when you are defending yourself from my harsh comments which is obvious that you are the perfect wife for my son," she chirped and hugged me again while kissing my cheeks

I looked at Adrain, who is staring at me with unknown emotion in his eyes, but his eyes had warmth  unlike usual cold and emotionless

He cleared his throat, "I have an important meeting to attend, excuse me," he said and head again towards stairs at his study

"This man, I wonder did he ever take a breath without work, how much work he did, didn't he also wish to have a break and live a little," his sister murmured while rolling her eyes but her eyes softened and she grinned at me while quickly coming towards me, and crushed me into a bone-crushing hug

"Don't worry, Emberly is here now, she will change him," his mother said while placing her hand on my shoulder

I held my breath at her words I don't think so, that I can change him, he already hates me and married for revenge, he will never going to change for me

"I like you, and I think we are of the same age, I am so excited to spend time with you,"  Adrian's sister blabbers while taking hold of my hands grinning

I don't know why but this is the first time I felt like someone understands me like I am their family, suddenly  my eyes prickled with tears

His mom, quickly hugged me while wiping away my tears

"Why are you crying," Skylar asked me while soothing my back

"N.....Nothing, it's just the first time I felt like I also have a family, I never saw my birth parents, since childhood," I smiled while leaning my head back, wiping away my tears

"Aww, sweetheart, don't ever say this again, we are your family now," his mom said to me.
