Chapter 31: Chapter 31

: Havoc in Heaven

Ted was Britney's boyfriend? The words bounced off Chris ears in a bury haze, causing him to freeze, wondering what was happening.

Aunt Molly saw his face growing pale as he slowly turned away.

"young man, are you okay?" she asked, a little concerned,  as Chris turned away and started walking away slowly thinking it over not even seeing where he was going.

"Hey!" she called out but he kept on going.

She watched him walkway rattling her brain from where she had seen him,

"He looks so familiar," she muttered to herself eyeing his retreating figure. She shrugged closing the door.

He had told Todd to park the car a little bit ahead so he had to walk for a few minutes before he reached the car.

Meanwhile Britney discovered she had left something so Ted and Mckayla had to turn around and go back home.

They were in the car, almost home when Mckayla called out to Britney,

"Hey, isn't that Chris?" she asked pointing to the car screen at a figure coming closer to them.

Britney looked harder, her eyebrows furrowing.

"It's definitely is him, there's his car," Mckayla said pointing to the black tinted car a few feet where they were headed.

"Stop the car!" Britney called out, her heart racing.

"What?" Ted asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I said stop the damn car," Britney replied as they passed Chris a little ways, "Ted!"

"Yeah, yeah!" He called back stopping the car.

Britney jumped out, slamming the door behind her, "careful! This car is old!" Ted scolded, causing Mckayla to roll her eyes.

"Chris!" she shouted out walking toward the middle of the road, her hands dropping down in defeat.

Chris paused for a minute.

10 critical seconds passed causing Britney to hold her breathe, starting at his broad back, he turned around slowly bringing some sort of relief to her.

However, it left just as quickly as it came when she saw his face.

"Things are going to get ugly," Mckayla muttered underneath her breath, knowing fully well what that face meant.

Ted looked at her, "what do you mea-"

"Shhh, just watch “she hushed.

Ted gave her a confused look, causing her to sigh, opening the car door and beckoning him to follow so they could watch the action as Britney walked over to Chris.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming over?" Britney asked, breathing out nervously, as she brought her hands together.

"I wanted to surprise you,” he lied, "turns out you surprised me," he said as he eyed Ted who had come out of the car and was leaning against it, beside Mckayla who pinched him.

"Ow!"

"Don't make it so obvious you're staring" she hissed.

"That's kind of hard to do when we literally got out of the car to do just that!" Ted replied rubbing his arm.

"Oh don't be a baby!"

"I'm not a ba-"

"Shhh!" Makayla hushed pinching him again.

"What are you talking about?" Britney asked, in confusion.

Chris looked away, clenching his fists, he swallowed hard before looking back at her, "what am I to you?” he finally asked.

"What?" Britney asked blinking twice at the question.

Chris towered over her, "you heard me, what am I to you?" He gritted out, his jaw ticking.

"What sort of question is that? Chris you know exactly what you are to me, how dare you ask me that!" She fired back, matching his venom.

"Just answer the damn question because truthfully right now, I really don't know,” his voice was cold and harsh something Britney had never really witnessed.

"Are you kidding me right now? Chris you're my boyfriend! How can you not know that?"

"I'm not your boyfriend.”

"That's not funny. Don't say that, you know exactly what you mean to me, don't stand there and deny it!"

.Chris shook his head as he took a step back.

She took a step forward glancing around, she felt the tears threatening to spill, over emotional for a second. She didn't know how it had come to this.

This wasn't the first time they had argued but this tense feeling surrounding them was different, like this argument wasn't just something they would recover from.

She lowered her tone, "you're very special to me...” She trailed off, her breathing fragile, "I'm in love with you." She replied in a soft whisper

So very scared she was to say it out loud. She had known for a while now, how deep her feelings went for the guy before her. She had always been told it was better for the guy to confess first but she felt caged, like time was running out for them.

There was a silent pause at her open confession. Chris breathing was shallow and harsh as he looked at her. She loved him? Like he did with her? She really cared?

His heart was thumping so loud he was sure she could hear it. He had won her heart.

Or had he? She said she loved him so what? I love you was said everyday by all kinds of people. But her actions. Her actions we're far from her confessions of love.

"No, no you aren't,” he whispered back, his eyebrows arching.

"What?" Britney replied staring into his eyes. She had just told him her heart and he was denying it and throwing it away.

She couldn't believe it.

"Maybe I am special to you, “he began, speaking from the soul, "but maybe as a gold mine or some rich boy you can show off to your friends."

His words went from silent to venomous in a statement, receiving one huge slap across the face. He had spun around as it echoed.

Makayla covered her mouth in shock.

"Dang" Ted muttered.

"How dare you say that to me? Who do you think I am?!" Britney yelled at him in disbelief? An able to comprehend he had said all that to her. Her, of all people, the girl that had been there for him. He would dare accuse her?

"All this time you really believed that I was that sort of person?" Britney's eyes shifted down. Trying to stop the feeling of betrayal that seemed to have eaten her whole.

Everything seemed like a lie now.

Mckayla closed her eyes as she heard them saying those words, she knew exactly what was going to happen.

"What do you expect me to think?!" Chris roared back.

"I expect you to trust me! I'm your girlfriend and I'm a damn good one!"

Chris laughed a little and Britney watched in horror

"Trust you?" he asked with an evil chicks.

"I saw the god damn video! How do you expect me to trust you when the whole world knows you're a cheater?”

"I have never cheated in you, it was just a stupid dare," she said as tears filled her eyes, her voice a little softer.

"A dare? Even if it was just a stupid dare,” Chris mocked, "how does that justify the fact that that guy over there is now your boyfriend?" Chris asked.

Ted looked up in horror. Glancing at Mckayla for a moment.

"He isn't my boyfriend!" Britney replied, surprised at the accusation.

"Well, that's not what your mother thinks," Chris replied.

Britney froze at this, glancing shortly at Mckayla who had bit her lip.

"Which leads me to ask, how can you not tell your mother about us? I looked so stupid over there with her, “Chris bellowed back, "we've been dating for months Britney! Months!"

Britney's eyes shifted to the ground. How could she explain it to him?

"Do you know what hurts the most?" he asked his tears clouding his eyes

"I love you, and you don't even a give a damn"

Those words caught her by surprise. He had confessed as well. To her face. But with so much hurt in his eyes.

"I should have listened to Anna, you're not what's good for me,"

"Anna?" Britney repeated breathlessly.

"Chris, this has gotten way out of hand. Let's just talk about it okay?" She pleaded it.

"We are talking? Aren't we? I'm telling you how I feel!"

"And I'm listening! Believe me I am! Chris I love you,” she said pulling on to his arm as Mckayla approached him.

He wasn't ready for that kind of action,

“Hands off of me!" he said pushing her away. She tripped landing on the floor, grazing her arm with a short whimper.

He stepped back in shock of what he had done as Mckayla rushed to her cousin kneeling before her

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Mckayla snapped at him, soft tears flooding Britney's eyes.

He looked at her, as she tended to her cousin.

"I don't know,” he said softly, "Maybe my hearts broken,”

Britney was crying already begging him.

"Stop it Britney" Mckayla cooed. She couldn't stand her cousin being weak before anyone one.

“I don't want you near me anymore, you don't even realize how much this hurts me, “Chris replied backing away

"I have to leave, before I do something stupid," he said glancing at Ted who had joined them.

"Please don't go," Britney whimpered through her tears.

Chris turned around throwing his arm up into the air, in a defeated motion, as he walked away.

"Chris!" Britney called out trying to get up after him. Mckayla held her down

"Let him go. He is angry, he can't be civil. Nothing's going to happen, you're just going to hurt yourself," she said trying in vain to stop her. Ted helped her, patting Britney's shoulder, “just give him a moment, he will come around."

"No, let go!" Britney said her eyesight blurry as she watched the figure walk further away, "Chris don't leave me!" she screamed.

"Please!"

Chris entered his car and put his glasses on, "where to sir?" Todd asked, clearing his throat.

"Just drive," Chris replied.

Britney slumped on the road as she saw the car drive away out of sight.

She was crying uncontrollably.

"It's just a misunderstanding, Britney, very soon you guys will work it out," Mckayla eased.

"What will I do without him?" she asked gazing at her cousin.

"Oh please, don't talk like that! You will live, like you always have," she snapped back.

"I'm not ready for another heartbreak," she replied

"It’s not a heartbreak, okay?  It's just a break,”

"It feels like one,”

"Well, you got over the first one you can get over this one," Mckayla huffed pulling her up.

"I didn't love the first one as much as I love Chris, I feel like my heart has been torn into two, and I can't find the other half," Britney cried burying her face into her cousins shoulder, "I can't find it " she cried.

Makayla sighed, another reason why she didn't do love, too much dramatics.

"You can't find it because he's taken it," Mckayla she whispered back.

She patted her cousin arm, "but he'll return, if he loves you like he says he does."

Ted watched her surprised for a moment. He had never really seen this side of Mckayla, "thanks Ted, but I think I will take it from here," she said turning back to Ted.

Ted nodded not really knowing what to say. He gave a short solute before going hid away as the girls walked home.

They entered the house. Britney's eyes were all red and puffed up.

"Back already?" Aunt Molly asked as they walked in, her smile faded as she saw Britney.

"Uhmm.. It got cancelled," Mckayla replied.

"What happened to her? Why is she so pale?"  She asked as she helped Britney sit down?

Britney was weak and couldn't even say a word but tears were falling down her cheek, one after another.

Mckayla sat beside her as her mother asked again,” what is going on?"

Mckayla patted Britney's arm, "maybe it's time we tell her?" she said, "no more secrets?"

"Tell me what?" her mother asked, folding her arms, now both curious and concerned.

"Whatever, doesn't matter anymore," Britney replied tears filling her eyes.

Mckayla sighed, looking up at Aunt Molly,

"You know Chris right?"

"Chris? The young man that was just here?” she asked, her eyebrows arching in surprise.

"Yes Aunt, that...well that was Britney's boyfriend, "

"Britney's boyfriend? I thought Britney's boyfriend was Ted," Aunt Molly replied.

Mckayla shook her head, "we let you believe that because we didn't want you to know..."

"Know what?"

"Chris is Justin's Star Ryder's brother, the other celebrity"

"a celebrity?" Aunt Molly echoed, she thought back to the strange boy that showed up at her doorstep less than 15 minutes ago,” no wonder he looked so familiar," she begun to put things together as the smart woman she was.

"How long has this been going for?" She asked.

"About eight months to nine," Britney whimpered as she sniffed.

"Is this the reason why every time I sent you and Ted to take pictures of the Ryder's it always comes back blurred?" she asked treading across the room.

Mckayla nodded, feeling a nervous sweat coming up. She had cost the company a lot of headlines with this secret of theirs.

"Well, No wonder he acted so strangely when I told him you were out with Ted," she said as everything came into realization,

"Poor guy, is that why you like this?" she asked Britney.

Mckayla nodded, "they broke up."

Britney whimpered at this point fact.

"You know what? You deserve this for lying to both him and me, I can't even imagine how he felt, "Aunt Molly scolded, a fiery disappointment roaring through her eyes.

Britney looked up at her, her eyes redder than red, "well I'm sorry, alright?!  I'm sorry I lied, I'm sorry I wasn't a good daughter to you, hell I'm even sorry for not being the best girlfriend to him but maybe if you hadn't made that stupid rule, or even had been around more often I wouldn't have had to!" she yelled back.

Mckayla and Aunt Molly looked at her in horror,

Britney paused realizing what she had just done, "sorry mom, I just don't need this right now," she said as she left and walked upstairs.

Mckayla and her mother watched as she went upstairs, "she's never raised her voice at me before," Aunt Molly said, her hand on her heart.

"I know, but you have to understand her, she really loves this guy and it's really been hard for her to keep this from you,”

"I know I'm hard you, and I'm usually very busy, but I've always tried to be a mother to you two," she said softly.

Mckayla hugged her aunt, "C'mon Aunt! You are the best," she replied.

Aunt Molly smiled, "okay let's go," she said heading toward the door.

"Go? Where?" Mckayla asked baffled.

"Let’s go and explain to this Chris fellow, I won't allow my daughter to get hurt because of this,”

Mckayla smiled, "I know you really want to help aunt but now is not the best time,”

"Why is that?"

"Because Chris doesn't know you and I are paparazzi, Britney thought it would freak him out as well as his family seeing you’re the boss there,”

"Oh...oh…yeah. .I forgot about that," she replied sitting down in disappointment.

"It was really hard for he wasn't it?" she asked, gazing up at Mckayla.

Mckayla sat beside her Aunt, "yes, it was,”

"I just wish I could help,” Aunt Molly replied

"Well you can,”

"How?"

Mckayla whispered in her ears

"You just can't tell them about our identity." she finished.

"Okay, it’s good plan. Let’s do it then," Aunt Molly replied.

Mckayla smiled, "I'm going to check up on Britney,”

"Yeah okay you do that,"

Meanwhile

Chris was driving about aimlessly in LA, just watching people, he spotted a few couples having fun.

He drove around, visiting the beach for a while, only deciding to go home once it was evening.

He had just finished explaining to Justin what had happened between him and Britney.

"So you too are...over?" Justin asked

"It feels like that," he said

“But you've been together for like six-"

"Nine,”

"Nine months!" Justin blurted out, it just seemed wrong that Chris was doing this, breaking up with Britney whom he had deemed cool.

"Look at you," Justin continued, studying his brother, "you still love her,”

"Well of course, you just can't stop loving someone," Chris replied, "it's not like it's an on and off button"

Justin sighed, "If I loved someone like you do, I would never let her go, I would try really hard to overlook her flaws," he said.

"I have tried, but do but sometimes it hurts too much, just can't keep being with someone who constantly hurts you,”

Justin huffed at this, "I wouldn't say she constant hurt you, I'd say she made you smile more times than she's made you frown,” he said patting his brother shoulder.

Chris scoffed at this.

"Well I guess we are both going to be single then,”

"What do you mean?" Chris asked

"I thought about it. I really thought about it, and it's not working,”

"What are you trying to say?"

"I'm going to end it man, I know Lucy has felt it to, it's just not working for us,”

Chris nodded, "maybe it's our fate, to never be happy," Chris said

Justin lay beside him, with a soft sigh, "maybe it is."

*******

Meanwhile,

Lucy was in the park, just sitting and enjoying the fresh air.

"Here’s your cappuccino,” Anna said as she sat besides her sipping her own cappuccino.

"Not too foamy?"

"Just the way you like it beastie,” Anna replied with a soft giggle.

"It’s so peaceful hear isn't it?" Lucy asked

"Peace? Why would you be looking for peace?” Anna asked, as she sucked her straw.

Lucy sighed, "Justin and I are going through rough times," she replied.

"What do you mean?"

"Our relationship is as hard as a rock, I guess he's just stopped trying."

"Mmm," Anna said, looking away.

"What’s that supposed to mean,”

Anna hummed again, shrugging.

"Tell me!" Lucy said, giving her full attention.

"Lucy, maybe...well maybe you should just let go,”

"What?"

"Look I know what we've been trying to do. and I know you love him, but look around you, no matter how hard you  try it's clear that Justin's just a prisoner to you, " she said softly.

"A prisoner?"

"I know it sounds harsh, but it really looks like you're the one doing everything,” she replied.

Lucy turned away, stating at the cup in her lap, “I can't let him go" she said slowly.

"I've been talking to the boys and they all think you’re killing him, choking him, that's not good for reputation, you don't want his family thinking that about you. Even if you lose him, you have a great job with the Ryder's, a great salary and they are good people, good friendly relationships. Do you really want to lose that?"

"I love him,”

"C'mon Lucy, There are probably a million other women out there who could say that, it’s Justin Star you're talking about"

"I know that our relationship is going off track and it hurts me but if I lose him it will break me, I love him so much, I just can't, alright?"

"Well, I'm sorry but I don’t think that's in your hands anymore,”

"What?"

Anna sighed, "I heard the boys talking and they were encouraging Justin to end things and he seemed to agree,”

"No! I won't let that happen!” Lucy yelled,

"Think about it first live Luce, maybe it's time to move on," Anna responded

"No!" Lucy said standing up, “I don't want to move on okay! Not again. I want this one Anna! I love him and I'm done just walking away! I will do whatever it takes to make him stay, anything," she said, coupling the plastic cup, “I’m not letting him go, “she gritted out before stomping away.

"Don’t do anything stupid!" Anna called out to her. She kept sipping her cappuccino, After all, everything was going well for her witch Chris.

However between Bree and Robin they had their own battles.

*****

After dinner Bree was in her bedroom. She sat on the bed, raising one leg up to apply her lotion.

Robin entered quite exhausted from his usual rounds around the office, in and out of PR meetings and visiting his various businesses.

Bree rolled her eyes, as he sighed, taking a deep breath out. The past six months were bad for them with Robin flying in and out for Justin's performances and gigs as well as interviews for his Album.

"Have you talked to Chris?" she asked halfheartedly.

"Didn't we all talk at dinner?" Robin asked

"What sort of reply is that? You didn't notice anything about your son?" she asked once more.

"What do you mean?" he said taking off his shirt.

"You’ve been so busy, you don't even know,”

"Know what?" Robin asked

"Know that Britney broke your son’s heart,” she reported.

"Really? What happened?" he asked

Bree rolled her eyes again in disbelief, "you should ask him," she replied.

Robin grinned knowing fully well she was mad at him, but he knew exactly what to do, "you know you're very beautiful," he said.

He made her blush a little, causing her to look away.

"I'm going to take a shower," he concluded as he took a towel.

Bree watched as he entered the shower.

She begun to realize that Robin wasn't as romantic as she had thought and romance in a relationship is essential.

After thirty minutes he came out of the shower and dressed up in his PJs. he looked for Bree who he was no longer on the bed. His eyebrows borrowing just as the lights went off and the candle came on.

"You're looking for me?" Bree asked wearing a sexy red nightie dress.

Robin’s mouth dropped as she came closer. "I believe I was," he said.

He watched as she came closer, both knowing what came next only he wasn't up for it. Not tonight. All he wanted to do was relax at home.

He clapped twice and the lights came back on, causing Bree to stop right in the middle of her dance.

"What are you doing?" she asked watching him,

Robin sighed as he came closer, "I just want us to cuddle, I'm really tired Bree, we can't do it today,"

Bree looked at him, sliding away from his grasp, "not today?" she asks coldly.

He shook his head pleading as he touched her waist.

"Don’t touch me," she said as she moved out of his grasp.

"If not today than when? Tomorrow, a week maybe, how about in a month?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"C’mon Bree you know I've been traveling the whole day, I'm just tired."

"When was the last time you touched me?" she asked.

"What are you talking about? I always touch you,”

"You know exactly what I mean Robin,”

"Mm I don't know, a month?"

"Two months and two weeks ago, I've been counting,” she fired back, "it's not even been a full year since we tied the knot and you're already slipping."

"You know the boys and I were performing in Las Vegas then, and don't talk like that, I talked to you about this. I told how busy it would get especially with the boys carrier."

"Justin was performing then, you don't always have to be there, and Bob can keep an eye on him,”

"He is my son it's my duty,” Robin replied.

"Isn’t Chris your son too? Isn't it also your duty to know what's going in in his life? Aren’t I your wife? Isn’t it your duty to make me happy?" she asked.

"I love you all equally, it's just Justin needs more attention. Chris is strong, Justin's fragile,” Robin explained.

"That’s a fake excuse, Robin I am your wife, I need to feel loved. You promised me you would be home three days ago,”

"Something came up, I already explained it to you, why are we going backwards on this issue?"

"Well it isn't the first time is it?" she asked

"Bree..."

"Don’t Bree me! Every time you cancel our dates or delay you keep sending me presents, what do you think you can buy me?" she asked

Robin looked at her speechless, "I married you not your money, don't make me regret it,”

"Don’t say that," Robin warned

"What did you expect me to say, you better have no other chick in your life!" she yelled

"Of course not! You're the only one I love. Don't accuse me of things like that I don't have time for those type of things"

"Then start acting like it," Bree replied taking a pillow

"Bree, baby where are you going?" Robin asked

"Until you get your shit together and realize what's really important, I'll be sleeping in the other room, and you should try and learn more about your boy’s lives and get involved in them," she said slamming the door.

Robin sighed.

That was the end of there once perfect lives.
