TWENTY THREE- PRESENTATION

One week gone with dozie and I neither saying a thing to each other. At least the only time we spoke was when we needed to meet with Mrs Emma for our presentation.

Speaking of presentations, it was today. I and the rest of the people who were going to come along were sitted in the school bus. We were only five students with Mrs Emma and Principal Jordan. We hated the idea of our principal coming with us but then we couldn't do much about it.

I sat together with Sola in the long bus, while Osaro sat with dozie behind me and then Kendrick and Mrs Emma sat in front of the rest of us while our principal sat behind the driver.

It's a good thing that Sola came along and now I even think about it.it was just Sola and I that were the only girls in the bus.

I brought out my phone together with my earpiece from my school bag which I carried along with me. Plugging it in to listen to some random music. Sola was busy with a book and she wasn't even that concerned about anyone around her, while Osaro kept dangling his eyes around. Looking for who to playfully annoy.

I smiled at myself. A quiet environment will kill Osaro more than any disease. Finally he found Kendrick to disturb. Cause he kept using his fingers to run across kendrick's neck.making the guy who tried to focus on reading, twicth.

I stifled the small chuckle that kept trying to escape from my lips.A class students were so much bookaholics. Oneday we even had to post on their class door " BOOKS SWALLOWS BOOKAHOLICS "

I chuckled at the memory.and diverted my attention to dozie who seemed to have been engrossed with his headset. He was drumming his fingers on the chair and nodding his head to something. I figured that maybe he was listening to music.

Though I wonder why Osaro didn't see him to disturb.Mrs Emma was spacing out and about principal Jordan, well...I didn't have an idea of what he was doing

" Yeeiiiii !!!" Someone screamed. Jerking all of us out of our minor distraction. We all turned to see the screamer and behold, it was kendrick who looked flustered and Osaro who laughed mischeviously behind him

Osaro had used his fingers to snap at Kendrick's ear.I laughed at their expression

" jeez..kendrick is that your voice ?" I asked in amusement cause the guy was known to be quiet.

Osaro and the rest laughed. I don't know about dozie though

" abeg Osaro, leave me alone na! I'm I your wife abi wetin ?" Kendrick asked, using pidgin which sounded so funny hearing it from him.

" so Kendrick you can speak pidgin?" Osaro asked in amusement

" you brought that out yunno!" I said and he laughed

" don't tell anyone about that " Kendrick added and we all laughed again

" I noticed that a silence is what will cripple you faster than any other thing " Mrs Emma spoke up, referring to Osaro who was even oblivious to her comment.

" is it me?" He asked and sola retorted

" Nooo.it's your ghost "

" even his ghost is noisy sef " kendrick added and we all laughed harder

" don't blame me joor..it's not someone's burial that we are attending " he replied

" dozie are you okay?" He asked and I subconsciously glance at dozie who just nodded in reply.

I was already getting pissed off at his behavior.he was neither talking or laughing or making silly jokes that seemed to pretty annoy me and I swear his silence was the most annoying thing about him.

I decided to let it slide since, I too I'm at fault for snapping at him and being mean.besides, I never really told him sorry about that day so I guess I don't have rights to get angry at his silence.

" guys we are here!! "Mrs Emma announced as we approached the large signboard that read

WELCOME TO MELVIKS HIGH - our school bus pulled into the parking lot and we all filed out from the bus.

" Wow!!" Sola exclaimed beside me and I turn to her with a small smile

" this is the first words you've said since we started our journey here " I said

" i really said something..you didn't just pay attention " she says and I scowl before we both laughed

The school compound was as large as ours and the structures totally seemed so modern like ours infact there wasn't any difference between our school and Melviks high except that while Berley international high wore maroon checkered uniforms, Melviks high wore white shirt that had ash strips on it and an ash flare skirt which they paired with a white socks and black flats.

Their principal, a tall and lanky man who had tiny voice was busy showing us around while talking to the principal. It was Melviks high workshop day so they students too were kinda free to move around.

Soon it was time to start the presentation. Some girl who I guessed to be Melviks High head girl came over to us.she was beautiful and light skinned and she had this unmistakable black American accent that rolled off easily from her tongue when she spoke. It was so easy to like her.

But. I didn't really like her.why? Because she acted so flirty especially when she came around dozie

" hey goodday guys.my name is Fay Martin and I'm Melvik's high head girl..." she said with a small smile and her  eyes seemed to wander off to dozie who still acted like he wanted to be any other place than here

Another guy came to stand beside Fay.he was damn cute and he had the deep dimples which showed off easily without him even smiling. He had cute pink lips and gorgeous brown orbs. So good to crush on though. He flashed me a smile as he stood beside Fay.

" And I'm Zack. Melvik's high head boy" he said smirking at me.which made me blink back in suprise

" hello..I'm Meera Johnson " I said while the rest of my classmates also introduced themselves.

" okay then.let's do the honors of showing you, your way to the hall " Fay said still with her small flirty smile as she catwalked away while we trailed behind her

" damn she's hot " Osaro whispered beside me and I shot him a glare which made him keep shut .

" hey Meera! " an unfamiliar voice called me and I snapped my head to the caller. It was Zach.

" do you want to say something ?" I asked in a bored tone.he scratched the back of his neck nervously

" umm..I was wondering if..after the presentation if we can talk abit " he said

I furrowed my brows.what could we possibly talk about

" talk about what? " I asked and he shrugged

" just get to know each other more " he said and I shrugged. Not giving him a reply as we walked into the wide hall with over 500 bright eyed students looking at us.

" you're going to talk to him right?" Sola asked and I shrugged

" I don't know...let's just finish with this presentation.  " I replied her dismissively

We were done with the presentation which lasted for over an hour.anf right now we stood outside the hall with Melviks high principal who kept commending us about how eloquent and smart we were.

I'm totally sure that principal Jordan and Mrs Emma would be feeling so proud and happy about us.

I walked around with sola while we waited for the two school principals to finish whatever they were discussing.

" gosh..forget, this school is so filled with hot girls " Osaro exclaimed beside me. I didn't even realize he had been standing close to me

I laughed "and flirts too " I stared at a girl who tried acting all cute around kendrick who felt so uncomfortable

" poor guy..he should really loosen up" sola whispered beside me and I laughed more

" if not that our set girls are taken sha..we wouldn't have been admiring Melviks high " Osaro said

" Meera isn't taken yet " sola replied

" do you want dozie to kill me..? " Osaro asked and the both of them laughed. I was going to ask him what he meant by that until I saw Zach walk up to me with a huge grin on his lips

His smile was abit infectious cause I couldn't help but smile back at him while sola left my side and Osaro saying something about going to hook up with some girls

I wonder how both of us even work together as colleagues

" hi Meera" Zach called out smiling as he approached nearer.

" hi Zach..." I replied and from their we really kicked up in a conversation.

Zach was totally cool to talk with and he absolutely didn't have any intentions of flirting with me.infact he was more like an open person and occasionally I found myself laughing at his jokes which would find a way to crack me up in laughter

My eyes trailed off to dozie.he had Fay backing me and him facing me.  gosh! I was so suprised at how he and Fay seemed to click well. Dozie was laughing so hard at whatever Fay was saying. He kept acting like he was totally cool with the way she trailed her fingers around him, pretending to wipe out something from his blazer.

His gaze flickered over to me and his lips twitched into a smirk which made me purse my lips in annoyance. Fay handed him a phone and he typed in something before giving it back to her.

Fuck him.was he trying to make me jealous when  nothing was going on between us.

" are you okay..?" Zach asked and I snap myself out of my reverie as I gave him a small smile

" I'm totally fine..don't mind me " I replied

" can i have your number? "

" for what? " I asked and mentally rolled my eyes at my question. Zach smirked

" to delete it later on. ." He replied anf just when my face was about to twitch into a frown he added

" of course to save it so we can talk more often " he said and I laughed as I handed my phone to him.Zach was also damn sacarstic and that was more reason why I liked him too.

Like as per, as a human being

" okay students. It's time for us to get going " Mrs Emma called out and while Zach and I had a quick hug.I noticed fay also hugged dozie but theirs kinda lingered alittle.

I suddenly felt angry.wow just wow.here was dozie acting all snubby and keeping to himself when we were coming to Melviks High and now he's suddenly smiling brightly at fay and winking at her which was making her blush. Fay came over to give each of us a hug.

" nice meeting all of you " she said with a smile

" and you too " Sola, Osaro and Kendrick chorused while I gave her a tight lipped smile

" Meera can I get your phone no.?" She asked and I rasied my brows in confusion.

Sola who was standing beside me had to mutter to my hearing " just give her"

I sighed. Mentally rolling my eyes at her as I gave my number to Fay. Hoping she never calls me.

Fay smiled again as she waved us goodbye not without reminding dozie to call her.

I scoffed at both of them as they hugged one last time before he got into the bus

Sola this time was sitting beside kendrick and Osaro hadn't yet gotten into the bus.dozie made to sit beside me when I quickly dumped my school bag on the chair

" sit somewhere else " I retorted and he shrugged not replying me.I didn't careless.he could flirt all he wants with that Fay girl and keep ignoring me. I really don't blame him

As soon as we got settled inside the vehicle, principal Jordan had kept talking about how proud he was because of us and sincerely it made me abit happy.

After some minutes of silence.Osaro spoke up again

" hey guys on sunday I'm hosting a party...are you guys in ?" Osaro asked and that immediately made all of us to begin chatting again
