Capítulo 1463: Chapter 1448: Big Ears’ Innate Divine Ability
Over the vast North Sea, a lone figure was swiftly skimming close to the surface, occasionally tilting his ear to listen.
This person was none other than the runaway Big Ears.
Having mixed in Chaotic Sky Island for so many years, Big Ears understood too well the power and influence of the Sky-reaching Corporation, one of the Ten Great Directors of Chaotic Sky Island.
Originally, slipping away aboard a merchant ship was his best option.
However, once the Sky-reaching Corporation alerted the docks, not only would all yet-to-depart ships need to self-inspect, but all ships leaving within a certain period would be investigated.
By then, if someone from the Sky-reaching Corporation truly pursued him, he would have no choice but to wait for death.
Therefore, in the end, he chose to escape by flying alone, although fraught with danger, his odds of survival increased significantly.
In the vast sea, once he left Chaotic Sky Island, finding a single person was extremely challenging, even for the Sky-reaching Corporation.
He believed his early escape would lead the Sky-reaching Corporation, upon realizing and searching fruitlessly, to eventually give up.
However, he didn’t know that due to his premature escape, Manager Yany Chi of the Sky-reaching Corporation’s focus on him had multiplied several times.
More importantly, this Big Ears only had a Sixth Stage of Dao Entrance Realm cultivation, any martial artist at the Middle Late Stage of Divine Communication could complete the capture task.
Originally, the Sky-reaching Corporation dispatched over a hundred people split into four teams to capture him, each team with about twenty-five people. But because Big Ears’ cultivation was low, a steward who earlier made mistakes took a bold step to accomplish the task and avoid punishment.
He divided them into teams of two, splitting the four teams into fifty capture teams scattered in all directions.
Yet, even with fifty teams, finding someone over the sea was daunting, with each team’s surrounding range at most five to ten miles.
Unfortunately, there is something in this world called luck.
Big Ears was particularly unlucky. The martial artists pursuing him were all at the Middle Late Stage of Divine Communication; not only were they nearly twice as fast, but a few teams happened to be in the direction of his flight.
Despite possessing divine skills, alerting him early to the pursuit, and diving deep into the sea to evade them, intending to escape when they left.
As he plunged into the sea, a water demon at the Dao Entrance Realm charged at him with its jaws open, nearly scaring him out of his wits.
This water demon, having similar cultivation, could be easily handled on land or in the air, but this was the deep sea, the water demon’s domain, while his combat power diminished by more than thirty percent.
Instinctively, as he unleashed a talisman scroll for protection, he desperately turned and leapt out of the water, watching as the water demon, after weighing the situation, dove back into the deep sea.
Then, Big Ears was stunned.
Two Divine Communication martial artists were staring coldly at him.
“So, it’s you, Big Ears, causing your grandpa to brave the wind and rain?” One of the Divine Communication martial artists slapped him hard. Big Ears hadn’t even seen the movement clearly before stars erupted in his vision, and he was captured instantly.
In an instant, he was utterly desperate!
Soon, the Sky-reaching Corporation’s guards were returning with the captured Big Ears, who, with his vital points sealed and spiritual power controlled, knew all too well the outcome once taken back: brutal interrogation and then soul searching, the consequences of which he knew all too well.
However, for someone like Big Ears, who had survived the perilous environment of Chaotic Sky Island, his resolve was as hard as a ship’s hull.
Despite being captured, he was still frantically searching for a way out.
His big ears vibrated at an extremely subtle frequency, searching for anything within a ten thousand-mile radius that could be used.
As long as he wasn’t delivered to the Sky-reaching Corporation, he still had a chance.
Suddenly, Big Ears, held in their grasp, had a flicker of expression; he heard a whistling sound from a thousand miles away, and from the minute changes and breathing variations within that sound observed through his innate divine ability, he suddenly realized that it was his old acquaintance, Young Master Di.
At this moment, he no longer cared about anything else.
He didn’t even consider that with his knowledge of Ye Zhen’s cultivation, coming here would be futile.
But Ye Zhen, happening to be nearby, had become the only straw he could grasp.
Normally, in his current state of capture, he wouldn’t have been able to send out any signal for help.
Yet, his innate divine ability offered a sliver of opportunity.
Big Ears’ massive ears quivered rapidly twice, and simultaneously, Ye Zhen, riding swiftly on the small cat a thousand miles away, had a sudden jolt, glancing around abruptly.
Just now, the wind in his ears seemed to transform faintly into a human-like plea for ‘help’.
Bewildered, Ye Zhen looked around, shaking his head; was he overly cautious?
But just as Ye Zhen shook his head, the wind again carried a sound akin to ‘help’ into his ears.
Now, Ye Zhen could no longer remain calm; his divine sense immediately spread in all directions, though he found nothing.
Yet, within these few dozen seconds, the cry for ‘help’ echoed in Ye Zhen’s ears six times, and perhaps more eerily, as Ye Zhen extended his divine sense perception, the wind from a particular direction seemed distinctly different.
Out of curiosity, Ye Zhen proceeded in that direction.
The closer Ye Zhen approached, the clearer the message conveyed by the wind in his ears became.
In truth, Ye Zhen wasn’t someone who enjoyed meddling in others’ affairs, but the person capable of transmitting messages using the wind had piqued Ye Zhen’s interest.
An hour later, Ye Zhen saw the Sky-reaching Corporation’s martial artists who had captured Big Ears, now increased from two to eight in number.
After capturing Big Ears, they contacted one another, swiftly regrouping.
“Young Master Di, save me, I am Big Ears!” With less than thirty miles separating them, Big Ears’ voice became even clearer.
This surprised Ye Zhen, as he had always suspected Big Ears was peculiar, never expecting Big Ears to have such a skill, capable of manipulating wind over thousands of miles.
Ye Zhen hesitated, making Big Ears anxious; seeing they were drawing closer to Chaotic Sky Island, if he wasn’t saved soon, he indeed faced doom.
Invisibly panicked, Big Ears blurted out, “Young Master Di, save me, I beg you; I not only know Manager Yany plans to harm you, but also know about his scheme for the entirely new little world behind you!”
With those words, Big Ears also realized he had misspoken, while Ye Zhen was completely taken aback.
He had just returned from the True Profound Continent, how could anyone already know about the little world?
