Chapter 15: Chapter 15
Lunchtime came, and Tyrelle waited outside the door of my last class. The guy was too good looking for his own good that students kept looking at him as they passed by.
The class had two doors, and since I didn’t want to be seen by him, I used the other exit.
I smirked. That stupid mutt didn't think this through. No way will I eat out with him! I just want both of them to stay away from me.
Someone suddenly tugged my ponytail, and I yelped in response. “Where do you think you're going?”
I turned and glared at Tyrelle. “What?” I snapped. “Why’d you do that for? That hurts.”
“You promised that we would go out for lunch.” His tone of voice was challenging and demanding. His eyes were narrowing at me as he finally released my now ruined ponytail.
I feinted innocence and nonchalantly fixed my hair. “Really? I do not recall making such a promise.” I wondered. “Must be some other girl.” I wanted to smile when I saw his lips pulled back in anger, but I knew that I couldn't smile. Not normally anyway. “Goodbye then!”
Before I could leave, Tyrelle grabbed my arm and whispered in my ear. “Either you deal with me, or you deal with the hybrid. Between the two of us, who do you think is better?” I frowned as I pondered about his words. Honestly, I would prefer it if the two of them would leave me alone. But what exactly can a powerless girl like me do against a couple of supernatural beings? “I also have something to discuss with you too.” He added. I locked my gaze with Tyrelle to see him slightly pleading with me with his eyes.
I mean, he couldn't be worse than Prick, right?
I nodded, though slightly worried about my decision. "Fine. You lead."
I ignored the curious glances that the kids were giving us. I was already under the watchful gaze of two supernatural beings, so how worse can it get?
I followed Tyrelle until we reached his car. We drove in silence, and I was thankful for that. I did not know what to say to him because I was pretty much unhappy with my current situation. I didn't notice it at first, but Tyrelle took us to a fancy restaurant, which his family owns, according to him - if I may add.
This proud mutt actually didn't make any reservations, but he used his family name nonetheless to get us a private room to have our meal. Waiters came in and handed us our food even though we hadn’t made our order yet.
Every waiter and waitress in the room was carefully giving us watchful glances just in case Tyrelle would call out to them. I guess that this is what is considered as VIP in this case.
"So..." I started to say when I was already halfway through my steak, and none of us seemed to talk. "Don't you have anything to say to me?"
Tyrelle, who already finished his steak and was already eating ice cream for a dessert, looked up at me. "Yes, sorry." He said and finally paused from eating. He looked around us to see if anyone would be listening to us. When he was convinced, he finally looked at me. "I called you here to have a deal with me." He said.
A deal? It seems shady coming from him. "What deal?" Nonetheless, I decided to humor him.
"My father wants me to take you as my mate. A potential female leader to our pack." He said and raised a hand to stop me from arguing when he saw me open my mouth and dropping my fork on my plate as I gave him a stunned look. “I do not plan to do such a thing. I just want your cooperation to play the part. Act as you accepted me as your mate.”
"Hold up!" I yelled at what I just heard. "What do you mean when you say accept you as my mate? You better not tell me that...you know." I grimaced.
Tyrelle's eyes widened at my words, and he quickly backed away and waved his hands in the air, blushing. “No!” He coughed. “You and I are both...young. And wolves mate forever. If I...and...you...it will be permanent.” His face was already red from embarrassment as he tried his best to finish his sentence.
“Then how should I act like I...a mare?” I have to say, this conversation is very awkward.
“A mate. A mare is a female horse.” He corrected me with a deadpanned look on his face. “You have to wear this.” He said and brought out a small pendant in the shape of a half-moon. On it, there was an engraving of T.G.
“What's T.G.?”
“My initials. Think of it as a contract between you and me.” He said.
“Wouldn't a ring make it more believable? You know, those promise rings?” I suggested and quickly regretted my words when it made it sounds like I already accepted his offer.
Tyrelle's brow furrowed, and before I could get the pendant from him, he balled his fist and let out a curse. “So it was a promise ring! I forgot what it's called. I’m sorry, but I think I got the wrong jewelry.” He said and snapped the chain of the pendant and tossed it away.
I blinked at his action and looked at the broken jewelry on the floor. “What's it made of?” I asked.
“The what?”
“The necklace.” I pointed at the floor.
“Gold and diamond. I forgot how many karats for the gold. Why?” Tyrelle raised his brow at me while I gave him a stunned look. “You want the ring to be made out of pure gold? I can arr-”
“Woah! Hang on, rich boy. I haven't accepted your offer yet.” I said. I was still baffled how this guy doesn’t seem to have any sort of money problem that he would go around and toss a piece of jewelry like trash. It amazes me how he has little regard when it comes to money.
Tyrelle suddenly returned his gaze at me. "I'll pay you. Six hundred dollars a week."
I choked on my water. I grabbed a nearby napkin and dapped my stinging nose with it. This guy was throwing cash at me. With tear-filled eyes, I turned to him. “Are you really that desperate?”
"Yes." He said seriously. "The deal won't be for long. Just until we can convince my father."
"Why?"
He fiddled with his hands before looking at me. "I have to return to New York. Back to my team. We have a football tournament, and I am the team captain." He said and sighed. "Look, this deal will only last until I am allowed to leave for New York. The sooner, the better."
I looked at the table. "Do you have the papers? For the contract, I mean."
"No. It will be risky if someone finds out. But I promise you. You won't have to see me again for a long time."
Tyrelle doesn't seem like he's lying, to be honest. He doesn't seem like the type of person to even lie. I rubbed the back of my neck nervously. "I don't kno-"
"For as long as the contract stands, I will escort you so that the hybrid won't even bother you."
"Deal." I can’t believe how fast I was able to respond to that. The deal was too good to pass on.
Tyrelle seemed surprised at my sudden decision, but he didn't argue. "Well then." He said and offered me his hand in a shake. "Pleasure doing business with you. I hope this partnership will go well."
I reached out and shook his hand. "Okay..." I said with a shaky voice.
"I will give you a ring when it is ready." He said.
And that was the end of our lunch. Tyrelle and I exited the room. "Where's the washroom?" I asked when I had the sudden urge to pee. Tyrelle called for a waitress to escort me to the washroom.
"Right this way, ma'am." Said the woman. She bowed to both Tyrelle and I as she gestured for me to follow.
"Go. I'll wait for you here." He said.
I followed the waitress as she led me to another corridor after corridor. The further we went, I questioned why the hallway seemed empty, and the waitress seemed nervous. A shiver went down my spine as I suddenly got an eerie feeling about this situation.
"Where-" I started to ask, but a cloth suddenly covered my mouth. I tried to scream, but the smell of ammonia wafted into my nostrils. In a few seconds, I passed out.
The moment I woke up, I was in a car. A bunch of men in suits was seated beside me in front and beside me. I looked at my hands to see that they were tied together in front of me, but they did not restrain my mouth - fortunately.
"Where am I?!" I demanded. "And where are you taking me?" These guys looked like they were living a good life to be kidnappers, so I was confused about my situation.
"Lady Killer Smile, we are taking you to see our Alpha." One of the men said.
"The what?" I questioned. "Excuse me, but can this wait till later? I think I will be late for-"
"The Alpha owns the school, so you don't have to worry about anything."
"Can we at least stop somewhere? I have to pee." It was true. I want to pee.
"You'll have to wait until-"
"But I can't hold it anymore. May I remind you that you guys took me before I could even take a leak!?" I demanded. "I do not know who your Alpha is, but I swear I will tell him how rude you guys are to me! Have you heard of me? I am the all-powerful Killer Smile. If you guys don’t let me take a leak, then I swear I will unleash my mighty power against you!"
The men in the car let out a loud gasped and the person who was driving suddenly hit the brakes. My head bumped into the seat in front of me, and I let out a series of curses.
"There's a gas station over there. Escort lady killer smile to use the restroom." The driver, who I assume is the leader of the men in black, said.
I was suddenly escorted out of the car and towards the gas station ahead of us. A plan was forming inside my head. I will use my smile to scare off these suckers after I use the restroom. Then I will head inside the mini shop and hide until I figure out where they took me.
Yeah. My plan is solid, and nothing can-
"My gabbie poooo! There you are, my beautiful future bride! I came to save youuu~!"
I stopped abruptly and looked ahead to see my hybrid stalker running towards us. Behind me were my kidnappers, who would take me to their Alpha.
Right now, I have two choices. And I know which is the right one.
I quickly turned around and ran for the car. I dived in the seat and closed the door behind me. Two of the men were still outside, but I looked at the driver and - in an earnest voice - I said. "DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE! QUICKLY BEFORE I UNLEASH THE WRATH OF THE KILLER SMILE!" I slapped the back of the car seat repeatedly to show urgency.
The driver seemed like he was about to question me when he looked back. But upon pointing at the incoming hybrid, he finally understood and began to drive, leaving my stalker and the two men in black who were utterly confused with the situation.
