Chapter 389: Chapter 389

Hearing Zhu Bajie’s words,

Both Sun Wukong and Sand Monk couldn’t help but frown.

With a furrowed brow, Sand Monk said, "Second Senior Brother, you’re talking nonsense again. Be careful or Big Senior Brother might really get angry, beat you up, and with Master not around, no one will plead on your behalf."

Zhu Bajie glared at Sand Monk and retorted, "You’re the one talking nonsense, your whole family talks nonsense! I heard it myself from those two demons, they were fetching water to prepare for the feast, so their damned lady could marry Xuanzang. Could there be any falsehood in that?"

Sun Wukong immediately grabbed Zhu Bajie’s ear, as large as a fan, and said, "You fool, Master has been captured, and you still care if they are going to marry?"

"Isn’t it quite normal for the demons to like Master since he has such delicate and tender skin?"

Zhu Bajie quickly said with cries of ’ouch, ouch’, "Brother Monkey, I was wrong, Brother Monkey, I was wrong!"

"Serves you right, you big oaf!"

chimed in Sand Monk leisurely.

"Just stay still and let Old Sun smack you a few times, don’t run. After a few dozen hits from me, you won’t talk such nonsense anymore!"

Sun Wukong said to Zhu Bajie with a sneer.

"Oh my dear mother! Your staff is so heavy, not to mention a few dozen hits, even two would kill me!" Zhu Bajie cried out.

"Enough! Big Senior Brother, saving Master is crucial. Let’s put aside his beating for now," Sand Monk, not wanting to waste any more time, intervened.

"For now, I’ll spare you," said Sun Wukong, relenting upon hearing Sand Monk’s words.

Then Sand Monk added, "Now that we’ve confirmed that Master has been taken into the cave by them, the rest should be easy. If we follow those two female demons into the cave, how can we worry about not saving Master?"

Sun Wukong nodded and said, "That’s exactly my intention. Let’s follow them right away."

So, the four of them quietly followed the two female monsters and gradually entered deeper into the mountains. After about ten miles or so, the two female demons suddenly disappeared.

Zhu Bajie couldn’t help exclaiming upon seeing this scene, "Was Master taken away by ghosts?"

"This fool is talking nonsense again. Where would there be a ghost with such audacity?" Sun Wukong said, annoyed.

"If not a ghost, then how did they just vanish like that!" Zhu Bajie contended staunchly.

"They must have slipped into a cave. Let’s go over and take a look!" Sun Wukong said, frowning, for Big Senior Brother had mentioned they were in the Bottomless Cave.

He took the lead and walked over.

The small group advanced and carefully searched the area, but found that the two female demons had completely disappeared.

It was then that Sand Monk suddenly saw an archway standing up ahead and quickly called Sun Wukong and the others over.

"Bottomless Pit of Trap-Empty Mountain?"

Looking at the six big characters on the archway, Sun Wukong said with a frown, "It must be this place, but they’ve only erected this archway here, without indicating where the entrance to the Bottomless Cave is."

Suddenly, Sand Monk shouted from a short distance away, "It’s not far, and it’s even quite easy to find! It’s right below here."

Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie hurriedly went over, only to see Sand Monk pointing at the base of the mountain, where there was a huge rock, about ten miles in circumference. Right in the center of this massive rock, there was a hole the size of a jar’s mouth, with edges that were extremely smooth.

With a look of excitement, Zhu Bajie said, "This must be that demon’s cave."

Zhu Bajie frowned and said, "Back when I was Marshal Tianpeng, I’ve seen so many demons and monsters, yet I’ve never seen such a strange cave entrance."

"Let’s go down and take a look first!"

Said Sun Wukong, who was the first to jump down to the base of the mountain, approaching the hole and taking a peek downward.

Then Sand Monk followed and said with a laugh, "Don’t know how deep this cave is. Second Senior Brother, why don’t you go down first to test the depth?"

Hearing Sand Monk’s suggestion, Sun Wukong also turned to look at Zhu Bajie.

Zhu Bajie quickly waved his hands and said, "Brother Monkey, don’t tease me, your Old Zhu! If I accidentally fall down there, with its depth, I might not hit the bottom even after a year or two!"

A glint flashed in Sun Wukong’s eyes, and he nodded, saying, "This cave is indeed deep, at a rough estimate at least three hundred miles. No wonder it’s called the Bottomless Cave!"

Zhu Bajie said dejectedly, "Let’s go back then! Looking at it this way, we can’t save Master."

"Don’t talk nonsense. No matter what, we must save Master. What’s with all the defeatist talk?"

Sun Wukong glared at Zhu Bajie and chided.

Sun Wukong turned to Zhu Bajie and Sand Monk and instructed, "In that case, you two stay outside as backup! Don’t make any mistakes this time, or I won’t let either of you off the hook."

"Rest assured, Big Senior Brother, we won’t take it lightly anymore," Sand Monk quickly replied.

Zhu Bajie also hurriedly assured, "Uncle, rest assured, if those demons really come out, I’ll let them taste the might of my nine-foot rake."

After hearing the assurances from Sand Monk and Zhu Bajie, Sun Wukong nodded, "Then Old Sun will go ahead first."

With that, he leaped down.

Sun Wukong’s feet burst into myriad rainbows, his body enshrouded in auspicious vapors, as he quickly plunged towards the depths of the cave.

After descending into the Bottomless Cave and searching for a while, suddenly the gloom gave way to a bright area, where it was as clear as day, no different from the outside, with sunlight shining through, gentle breezes blowing, and flowers and trees all around.

Delighted, Sun Wukong said, "What a wonderful place, who would have thought that within this deep cave lies a Cave Heaven and Blessed Land."

Knowing he had found the spot, Sun Wukong then transformed into a tiny fly and flew inside.
