Chapter 375: Chapter 375

Upon hearing Xuanzang’s words, the King hesitated for a moment; even he had never heard that one’s heart and liver could cure diseases, and moreover, he had eaten so many children’s hearts and livers by now

and had not found his illness improving.

"Your Majesty must not be deceived by this demon path, lest you commit a grave mistake,"

Xuanzang looked meaningfully at the King and said.

"How dare you! I am the National Abbot personally appointed by His Majesty, and you dare to call me a demon path,"

the Daoist raised in anger, bellowing loudly.

Then, turning to the Foolish Ruler, he said, "Your Majesty, this Demon Monk is recklessly audacious. He calls me a demon path, which is clearly a veiled insult to Your Majesty, branding you as a Foolish Ruler, a crime of immense disloyalty."

"I humbly implore Your Majesty to arrest this Demon Monk, drag him out through the Wumen gate and carve out his heart and liver, boil them into a concoction for Your Majesty to use as a medicinal primer. Once Your Majesty consumes my Immortal Elixir, I guarantee you longevity and eternal life,"

Listening to the Daoist’s words, the King’s eyes lit up, and he asked, "National Abbot, does the Immortal Elixir you procured really have such effects?"

"Utterly true! Provided this Monk’s heart and liver are used as a medicinal primer, I assure you, Your Majesty, will enjoy boundless longevity!"

"Your Majesty, I am but a simple villager from the wilderness. All the glory and riches I have received are gifts from Your Majesty, for which I am forever grateful. How could I possibly harm Your Majesty?"

"Would Your Majesty really rather trust an unknown Demon Monk than believe me?" the Daoist said with seemingly sincere concern.

Hearing such words from the National Abbot, the King hastily said, "Of course, I trust the National Abbot."

"Your Majesty, you must not be fooled by this demon path! This Daoist is not human; he is a Monster in disguise, here to wreak havoc on your kingdom!"

"Right now, it is only because your destiny is not yet fulfilled that he has not harmed you. But once your destiny fades, this Monster will surely take your life. I hope, Your Majesty, that you will not continue in delusion..."

Xuanzang urgently pleaded.

"Impudent Demon Monk, shut your mouth!"

The Foolish Ruler interrupted Xuanzang with an angry face, and unceremoniously said, "You say the National Abbot is a Monster, could it be that the Beautiful Queen is also a Monster?"

After so many years of affection with the Beautiful Queen, he was naturally extremely fond of her; now, to suddenly hear someone label her as a Monster infuriated him beyond measure.

However, after hearing the King’s words, Xuanzang nodded and said, "Exactly, neither of this father and daughter are good people!"

"Your Majesty, please consider carefully. If they were good people, how could they use human hearts and livers as medicine primers? This medicine is certainly not an Immortal Pill, but a poison!"

"Outrageous, Insolent!" The Foolish Ruler burst forth in rage, saying bluntly, "You mad Monk, if you continue to spout nonsense, I will show no mercy. I have lived with the Beautiful Queen for three years; how could I not know whether the Beautiful Queen is a human or a Monster?"

"Your Majesty, this Demon Monk confuses the public with his lies. To insult me is one thing, but now he even dares to insult the Beautiful Queen, calling her a Monster. Such a treacherous person should be punished severely to uphold the laws of our kingdom,"

said the Daoist, bowing and speaking in turn.

The King nodded and said, "The National Abbot speaks sense. At first, when ordering your heart and liver for a medicinal primer, I felt guilty. Yet, this mad Monk shows utter disrespect, insulting me, insulting the Beautiful Queen, and insulting the National Abbot; you have committed a capital offense, how could I spare you."

"Where are the Palace Guards? Arrest this Demon Monk!"

"Your Majesty! Every word I have spoken is true, you must not be misled by this demon path! I beseech Your Majesty to reconsider!" Xuanzang watched as the Palace Guards approached and cried out loudly.

However, at this point, the King, who was only focused on eternal life, was unwilling to listen to Xuanzang.

Upon receiving the King’s command, the Palace Guards immediately charged forth to arrest Xuanzang.

Xuanzang clasped his hands together, and his body emitted waves of Buddha’s light.

Feeling such Buddha’s light, the approaching Palace Guards involuntarily stopped in their tracks.

Seemingly affected by the Buddha’s light, these ordinary people found it hard to endure.

They all turned their heads to look back at the King.

"Kill him now!" the Daoist sensed the aura and could not help but shout aloud.

Snapping out of their daze after hearing this command, the guards charged fiercely towards Xuanzang.

Just at that moment, a ray of Golden Light emanated from Xuanzang, and in an instant, a figure grew from small to large, landing beside Xuanzang. It was Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong held the Jingu Bang in his hand and, seeing the Palace Guards rushing forward, he swept it across with one strike.

In an instant, a terrifying force swept forth.

The two guards who were close to Xuanzang were instantly obliterated.

The King, witnessing Sun Wukong’s hideous appearance and ruthless attack, let out a scream of terror and slipped off the Dragon Throne, landing on the ground on his buttocks.

Upon seeing Sun Wukong, the National Abbot’s face changed drastically as he exclaimed, "Sun Wukong, weren’t you at the Posthouse?"

"Heh heh, you demon path, you’ve been eyeing Old Sun indeed!"

With that, Sun Wukong’s Jingu Bang went smashing towards the Daoist.

The Daoist’s face changed dramatically, and he quickly raised his Coiled Dragon Cane to block Sun Wukong’s Jingu Bang.

This Monster clearly recognized Sun Wukong and knew he was no match for him. He did not dare to fight head-on and turned into a streak of yellow light, breaking through the roof of the Golden Throne Hall and soaring into the sky. Then he rapidly fled towards the south.

"Hmph! Monster, where do you think you’re going!"

Sun Wukong gripped his Jingu Bang and immediately gave chase.

Although the Monster was fast, he was still slower than Sun Wukong. Before he could escape the city, Sun Wukong caught up with him.

Wielding the Jingu Bang, Sun Wukong showed no mercy as he smashed it down onto the Monster.

Earlier in the Golden Throne Hall, Sun Wukong had been careful not to harm the innocent, so he did not use his full strength, and the Monster easily blocked his strike.

But now, in mid-air, with no need for concern, Sun Wukong slammed down with all his might.

The demon felt the impending threat behind its approach and knew that if this staff hit, it would mean certain death or grievous injury, with no chance of survival left.

Unable to think of escape anymore, the Monster suddenly turned around and raised its Coiled Dragon Cane to meet the attack.

Sun Wukong’s Jingu Bang struck the Coiled Dragon Cane directly, casting sparks in every direction.

This Coiled Dragon Cane could withstand the Jingu Bang, evidently no ordinary object.

However, the Monster’s strength was not formidable; though it managed to block the strike with the cane, it couldn’t fully absorb the force of the blow.

The Monster only felt a tremendous force coming at it, then it was sent reeling back several meters.

At this time, Zhu Bajie was lying on the side, naturally not caring about what was happening in the Royal Palace.

Even if Xuanzang died, it wouldn’t matter to him.

They could just split up the luggage and go their separate ways.

But while Bajie was indifferent, Sand Monk remained attentive to the events unfolding within the Royal Palace.

"Second Senior Brother, Second Senior Brother!"

Just then, Sand Monk saw something and hurriedly shouted.

Zhu Bajie said somewhat irritably.

"Second Senior Brother, Big Brother is fighting with that demon; we must hurry to the palace to protect Master!"

Sand Monk said anxiously.

"Protect what? With Master’s abilities, who can hurt him!"

Zhu Bajie said, unconcerned.

Sand Monk shook his head and said, "Although Master’s powers of Universal Salvation are effective against demons, they don’t work as well on ordinary people. If somebody really wants Master dead, he will have no doubt about it!"

"If Second Senior Brother doesn’t want to go, then I’ll go ahead!"

With that, Sand Monk transformed into a streak of light and rushed towards the Golden Throne Hall.

Zhu Bajie, watching Sand Monk’s departure, might not care about Xuanzang’s life or death, but he couldn’t just do nothing.

He sighed, got up, took up his Nine-toothed Rake, and followed Sand Monk.

Inside the Golden Throne Hall at this time,

The King, seeing the ugly monkey leave, finally felt at ease.

Thinking that the monkey might return, he suddenly shouted, "Someone, capture that demon Monk! That demon monkey will surely have qualms about harming his companions!"

The King’s logic was simple; by capturing Xuanzang, since the monkey was the monk’s protector, he naturally wouldn’t want Xuanzang harmed, thus giving him a bargaining chip.

The guards hurriedly complied and charged towards Xuanzang.

Xuanzang, seeing that the King was still so obstinate, couldn’t help but shake his head.

As the guards approached, a Nine-toothed Rake and Treasure Staff came crashing down on them.

In an instant, the earth shook and the mountains trembled.

The guards collapsed to the ground, having never seen such formidable might before.

Even the King, who had just settled back into his seat, was knocked to the ground by this force.

When he looked again, he saw two strange creatures, one to the left and one to the right of Xuanzang.

"How does this demon Monk have so many helpers!"

The King was horrified, trembling all over.

"Who dares to make a move, must first get past me, Old Pig!"

Zhu Bajie’s Nine-toothed Rake glowed with light.

At this point, how could these ordinary guards dare to act? They retreated, standing by the King’s side.

The two sides were at a standoff, neither making a move.

At this time, the demon path and Sun Wukong were locked in combat, hard to separate.

Yet, the demon path only just managed to resist Sun Wukong’s onslaught with the cane, naturally at a disadvantage.

Sun Wukong launched another staff strike.

The demon path frantically defended, but as the staff descended, his face turned pale with shock.

He felt a terrifying force overwhelming his cane, and the Jingu Bang slammed into the demon path’s shoulder.

Unable to hold back a scream, the demon path plummeted to the ground.

Sun Wukong turned into a beam of light, immediately catching up with the falling demon path, and smashed down from above.

The demon, like a ball, was sent soaring through the air.

With its limited cultivation, after Sun Wukong’s two blows, it was immediately drained of strength.

With a scream, it transformed back into a white deer, and by the time it fell again, its vital spark had been extinguished.
