Chapter 349: Chapter 349

While Zhu Bajie was dealing with those demons, he had already followed close behind.

So, after the demons had left, he approached Zhu Bajie.

Zhu Bajie, upon discovering Sun Wukong, made a muffled wuu-wuu-wuu sound, his mouth gagged.

He seemed extremely agitated.

"You fool, you’ve only been here a short while and you’ve already been captured by these demons!"

Sun Wukong’s palm flipped, revealing Jingu Bang, which then transformed into a sharp knife.

He slashed with all his might, yet the slash couldn’t even sever a single strand of spider silk.

One must know the knife formed from his Jingu Bang was unspeakably sharp, plus it was Sun Wukong wielding it.

Hence, the sharpness is undeniable, yet now it had barely managed to cut half a strand of spider silk.

Surprise inevitably showed on Sun Wukong’s face.

Then, a hint of interest appeared on Sun Wukong’s face as he said, "This is somewhat interesting!"

Sun Wukong had not at all anticipated the toughness of the spider silk to be so formidable.

Without delay, he opened his mouth and sprayed, and in an instant, a blaze of demon fire emerged from his mouth, igniting the sword in his hand.

Of course, his flames couldn’t possibly compare to the Samadhi True Fire or other flames.

As the demon fire settled on the short sword, it burned continuously, raising flames about one centimeter high on the blade.

Sun Wukong then slashed at the spider silk with the blazing knife once more, but this time, it only managed to sever a single strand.

Sun Wukong’s eyes widened in astonishment and he exclaimed, "What kind of ghostly thing is this, resisting even demon fire?"

According to Sun Wukong’s speculation, the spider silk should be afraid of fire, yet even with the demon fire-adorned knife, one slash could only cut through a single strand.

This indicated that the spider silk could resist the flames’ assault; though not entirely, there was a significant resistance effect, otherwise the slash wouldn’t have resulted in severing merely one strand.

Sun Wukong couldn’t help but frown and stood up, saying with furrowed brows, "Impossible!"

As Sun Wukong spoke, he abruptly opened his mouth and a burst of flame shot out.

The flame instantly engulfed the spider silk wrapped around Zhu Bajie, blazing fiercely and crackling loudly.

Sun Wukong stared intently at the spider silk within the flames.

Zhu Bajie, scorched, wailed aloud; yet with his mouth gagged by the silk, he could only emit a strange hum-hum noise, struggling with all his might. But he was bound too tightly and couldn’t break free, his strength rendered useless.

Sun Wukong kept his gaze fixed on the spider silk being charred by the flame, noting that the strands weren’t igniting but gradually thinning out. Only after a long time did they finally begin to snap.

But it was only the outermost layer that had snapped; how many more layers were inside was still unknown.

"This spider silk is terrifyingly strong!"

Sun Wukong couldn’t help but feel amazed.

His eyes widened, his heart filled with shock.

This spider silk was indeed a treasure, but now it was troublesome. How was he going to rescue Zhu Bajie?

It seemed the only way was to capture those Spider Spirits; otherwise, Zhu Bajie would end up roasted.

Zhu Bajie was howling, wishing Sun Wukong would stop firing at once, fearing he would be burnt alive.

Soon enough, Sun Wukong heard Zhu Bajie’s screams and quickly waved his hand, and the fire on his body vanished.

Sun Wukong crouched down and asked Zhu Bajie, "Fool, are you alright?"

"Do I look alright to you? You damn monkey, I was about to turn into roast pork!" Zhu Bajie shouted, his voice muffled into odd mumbles.

Sun Wukong couldn’t understand what Zhu Bajie was saying, as his mouth was stuffed with spider silk.

But he guessed it wasn’t anything pleasant. He chuckled and said, "Fool, this spider silk is incredibly tough. Just bear with it a little longer; it won’t be long before I burn it all and get you out."

"My dear Brother Monkey! No, my great ancestor, my living ancestor! I beg you, stop burning! Before the spider silk burns away, I’ll have turned into roast pork! I’d rather stay in here for life, at least I can save my skin!"

"I beg you, please stop burning. Isn’t it enough that I call you my ancestor?"

Zhu Bajie pleaded piteously, yet his voice remained but strange hums and mumbles.

Sun Wukong, seeing Zhu Bajie so anxious and tense, was just teasing the fool and clearly wouldn’t actually roast him into a suckling pig.

Then again, it wouldn’t be a suckling pig given the circumstances; if the burning continued, he’d turn into a crispy-skinned roast.

"Alright, Old Sun won’t burn anymore, okay? Don’t be scared, you fool. I’ll go find those female demons and make them release you!"

Sun Wukong stood up, then with a flicker of his form, vanished from sight.

Zhu Bajie, watching Sun Wukong leave, couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

The seven female monsters were hurrying towards their cave dwelling after the affair.

As they neared their destination, they heard a nearby noise, followed by a figure descending from the sky.

He blocked the path of the seven Spider Spirits.

Then Sun Wukong looked at the Spider Spirits and said, "Ladies, pardon the disturbance."

"Where did you come from, monkey spirit, to appear before us!"

They looked at the monkey spirit who had suddenly appeared before them with confusion.

Sun Wukong grinned and said, "Ladies, there’s something I need your help with!"

The seven Spider Spirits furrowed their brows as they spoke, unsure of what this mysterious monkey wanted them to do.

Sun Wukong continued, "Just now I saw a pig bound by ropes over there, and I hope you can go and untie him!"

Upon hearing this, the Various Demons became furious, cursing loudly, "Sisters, this guy must be in cahoots with that pig-head, no need to waste words with him, let’s cast spells and capture this insolent rogue."

The Various Demons shouted loudly, and one after another they exposed their navels, ready to spin their webs and capture Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong was not about to give them the chance, with a wave of his hand and a flick of his robe sleeve, the seven female demons immediately felt a powerful force sweeping over them.

It was as if an invisible giant hand had enveloped them one by one.

The Spider Spirits’ faces turned pale with fear, letting out sharp screams as they quickly summoned their mana to resist, but to no avail.

"Immortal, please spare our lives, we did not recognize your noble presence due to our ignorance, hope the Immortal can forgive us this first offense and spare us this time!"

After encountering Sun Wukong’s formidable Divine Skills, knowing they couldn’t withstand him, the seven Spider Spirits each began to beg for mercy.

Sun Wukong scoffed and said, "Now follow me to release my brother, or I’ll beat you to death with my staff!"

Upon hearing Sun Wukong’s words, the leading Spider Spirit seemed to remember something, and exclaimed, "You are Sun Wukong!"

"I never expected someone here to recognize Old Sun!"

Sun Wukong chuckled lightly, and with a flash in his hand, the Jingu Bang appeared.

The Jingu Bang hit the ground, causing violent tremors.

The Spider Spirits, feeling such intense shakes, couldn’t help but fall to the ground.

Their pretty faces showed panic; they had never expected Sun Wukong to arrive so quickly.

"We will release Zhu Bajie, and we hope the Immortal will not kill us!"

One of the Spider Spirits, the calmer one, hastily said.

"Be quick about it, and stop your pointless chatter!"

Sun Wukong snorted coldly.

The seven Spider Spirits nodded frantically, worried that a slow response would result in Sun Wukong instantly killing them with his staff.

Then, the seven Spider Spirits headed towards Zhu Bajie’s location.

Zhu Bajie, seeing the seven Spider Spirits return, couldn’t help but make a whimpering sound.

"Quickly collect all of these spider webs!" Sun Wukong bellowed.

"Yes!" The relatively calm Spider Spirit quickly complied, obediently gathering all the spider webs.

Zhu Bajie finally got free from his restraints; having been bound for so long and almost roasted into a pig, the poison in Zhu Bajie’s system seemed to get worse after being baked by the fire, his skin now swollen and showing signs of slight ulceration.

Zhu Bajie had really suffered a lot and was now holding back a belly full of anger. Seeing two demons kneeling there, he didn’t say a word and swung his rake to hit them.

Frightened by Zhu Bajie’s action, the two demons screamed and quickly hid behind Sun Wukong, shouting loudly, "Immortal, save us! Immortal, save us!"

Sun Wukong raised his hand, and with the Golden Hoop in hand, he blocked Zhu Bajie’s Nine-toothed Rake.

Zhu Bajie, filled with rage and seeing Sun Wukong seemingly protecting the two demons, yelled, "Brother Monkey, what are you doing? Release those female demons now to let Old Zhu deal with them one by one and send them to the afterlife, so they don’t cause more harm."

Sun Wukong said with a smile, "You blockhead, have you forgotten what we’re here to do?"

Struck by a sudden realization, Zhu Bajie said, "Oh, Brother Monkey is thinking of..."

Although Zhu Bajie said so, he didn’t finish his sentence.

"Aren’t you going to help this blockhead detoxify? Otherwise, don’t blame Old Sun for being ruthless!" Sun Wukong said as he looked at the seven Spider Spirits, snorting coldly.

The seven Spider Spirits were somewhat helpless and nodded before agreeing to his demand.

They took out an elixir and handed it to Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong glanced at it and wasn’t worried that the elixir was fake because if it were, those few Spider Spirits wouldn’t survive.

Under absolute power, the tricks of these Spider Spirits were useless.

Zhu Bajie took the Spider Spirit’s elixir and swallowed it down.

Indeed, the poison on his body quickly disappeared, except for some burn marks.

It’s all the fault of that damned monkey; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been hurt so badly!

"Brother Monkey, now that we’ve captured these demons, let’s hurry and save Master!"
