Chapter 6: Chapter 6

AYO'S POV....

It's been two weeks now, and I've heard nothing from Victoria. She's not always online. Not on Facebook or WhatsApp or Skype, not even Wattpad.

I'm worried about her. Is she alright? Did she loose her phone?

I mean I see her post on Wattpad of new chapters in her stories. Yes her stories are dope. That's how she would say it.

But I tried communicating with her too on Wattpad, I know she saw my messages but she refused to answer.

Shit. Now you see me as a lover boy.

No I'm not loving anyone but my mum and family.

It's just a mere crush. She's innocent. That's what I like about her.

Not like I wanna spoil her. I would keep her. It's hard to find people like her.

Yes, it's just a crush nothing more.

Lemme try her number one more time.

VICTORIA'S POV...

"So that's how I ended up in the gutter." I explained and Ola burst into laughter.

"Since then, I hated okada(motorbike)." I added and he kept laughing.

Oh. This feels right. Everything is back to normal. I'm crushing on my best friend  and he's crushing back.

Even when I know he has more than one girl friend. Even when he keeps persuading me to have an experience in a relationship even if it's not with him.

This is how I describe my own perfect fairytale. Just him. Nothing more.

"So..." I started but got interrupted when my phone started ringing.

"You've got a call... who's AMPAD?" He asked.

Crap. That's fucked up.

"Um..he, um..just a friend." I stammered

"He?" He asked raising a brow.

Oh God.

"Yeah. We um... met, in a bus. On my way home from jamb exam."

"You what?" He glared

Great I forgot he's the other version of my dad. Only that he is just four years older than me.

"Um.." I trailed off.

"And you still keep in touch with him?"

Did I mention that he was possessive?

Sorry if I didn't.

"We're just friends."

I said and he picked the call.

Stalking runs in my life.

He didn't say anything, just waited for the caller to talk.

"V. What the fuck is going on, you're not online, you don't answer my calls, I'm worried about you. It's been two weeks, why are you doing this, I miss you, you know I care about you is that why you this to me?"

Okay that was a little too much, especially when it is coming from Ayo.

"V. Are you even listening to me?" I heard Ayo's voice say and Ola glared more.

"Hello. I don't want you to ever call this number again do you understand?" Ola growled

"W-who is this?" I could hear the panic in Ayo's voice.

"That is none of your business. I don't know who you are but I know I don't want any relationship between you and her again." Ola glared and cut the line.

"That wasn't dope." I crossed my arms

"You're unbelievable." He replied throwing the phone at me.

"You were the one who asked me to get myself a boyfriend." I said angrily and he sighed in frustration.

"Yes. I said that but I didn't mean you should go around with guys you met in a bus. You don't even know anything about him. You just met once and he's saying he cares about you. What, he says he can't wait for you to date him. And that you're different from other girls. Do you know how know all this? Cos I'm also a guy and I'm in a fucking university with different type of people there and trust me I know people like him and I don't trust him." He was almost shouting.

Thank God no one was home but us.

I just sat there staring at nothing. Two weeks ago me and my dad had a similar discussion and it wasn't good. Now it's Ola.

He's probably right. What I'm I saying he's always right.

"I.." I trailed off and he sighed. He was more relaxed this time. He gripped my shoulders and stared into my eyes.

"Look Temmy. I've known you for long and I know what you can do. But this is just too much. I don't want you to get hurt. You don't go around with strangers our parents taught us that. So please if there is any relationship between you two, break it. Please Temmy." Ola called the nickname he gave me since I was eleven.

"There's nothing between us. Remember, I promised myself, no relationship till 200level in the university." I said and he chuckled

"I still say it's impossible. But I'm glad to have my girl back." He said and I smiled.

••••••••••••••••••••••

AYO'S POV...

What the fuck.

Did that just happen? Who the hell was that? Was that her father? No her dad wouldn't talk like that. Probably her boyfriend.

But she said she didn't have a boyfriend. Does that mean...she lied to me.

She played me all along.

Why does it hurt so much? No. No one hurts me. Not even a girl. I make them hurt.

I'm usually the player here. But this time, I'm not playing her. Well I guess I'm not.

C'mon Ayo. It's just a crush, you were expecting this. You were played, get over it.

••••••••••••••••••••••

OLA'S POV...

Who does that guy think he his? Thinking he can play her like that? Is he mad?!

No one can hurt her. Not on my watch.

I won't let it happen. Even when she goes to the university. I won't let anything happen to her. It's my responsibility. She is my responsibility. And I'll take care of her.

No man, no guy is gonna touch her.

She's mine.

She has been mine since we met.

"What are thinking?" I blinked back to reality at the sound of Temmy's voice.

"Just thinking about when you're gonna make lunch." I said with a smile.

Kolade and Ifeoluwa has gone out to a friends house and her mum had a meeting to attend and will be back till in the evening. Her dad... at work, as usual.

I know what you're thinking, and no, nothing is gonna happen. I'm not doing anything she's not comfortable with.

You can trust me on that.

"Will you enter the kitchen and get what you want. There's garri(cassava flakes) in a bowl. And sugar and groundnut and also cold water in the fridge." She said and I rolled my eyes.

"Why will I go when you are here?" I faked a disgusted face.

"I'm not your wife or girlfriend neither am I your fiancé." She said and I scoffed

"No. Not yet." I told her and now she rolled her eyes.

"But I promise, you'll be all of those. Now, I'm teaching you on being a caring wife, so you need to get me lunch." I told her.

She sighed and got up with her phone. At first I thought she was obliging. But then she passed the kitchen door and shouted.

"I'll be in room. Typing on Wattpad."

Well I'm not surprised. She was always stubborn and strong headed. I won't try to change her.

She's perfect just how I like her.

I got up to get my lunch.

You can't control that girl but damn does she have much control.
