Parth's POV

I came back outside and joined the celebration and ceremonies. But kept thinking about her only.

I was supposed to stay at Sid's place but I could not. I needed to apologise to her till she could trust me again. But Sid was really upset as Shruti was not coming. So I had to stay with him.

I had taken a leave from the hospital as I had to be present in all the ceremonies. It was better to stay away from her for the time being as she was angry and hurt. I had apologized but she didn't even want to see me. So I didn't go home the entire time.

The wedding was over and everyone retired to their rooms once Gautam bhai and Maurvi were welcomed into their home.

Sid was very upset that Shruti didn't turn up and was not even picking up the call. But we could not do anything about it.

We all were very tired, I was getting very restless, so came back to my home. Expecting that her car would be parked in my parking place. But I would not argue with her over that.

But I was shocked to see that my parking place was not occupied by her car. In fact, I could not see her car anywhere.

Oh, God!! Where was her car?? I looked around but there was no trace of it. I was shocked so took out my phone to call her. But it was 5 AM. Too early to call anyone.

I ran upstairs and went to my home, I was really tired and was supposed to sleep but couldn't even think of it. I was going mad because I hurt her.

For the sixth time, I dialled her number and disconnected her as it was too early. I kept pacing in the sitting room.

It was half-past six now and I could not control myself anymore and finally called her. The phone was ringing but she didn't pick up the call.

Was she so upset with me that she was not going to talk to me?

Of course, she was, she had turned her back towards me, which implies that she didn't want to see my face. I broke her trust in me. Now she would never trust me.

I was getting desperate to talk to her now, so kept calling on her number but she didn't pick up the call.

I went to my balcony and saw that her window was open as usual and I went to her balcony to look inside. The lights were off and she didn't seem to be there. I jumped into her room and found her phone on the floor.

I picked it up and saw that it was broken.

Oh, God!! Where was she?? Why was her phone broken?? What happened to her?? Why didn't she call me??

How would she call if her phone was broken?

I hope she was safe... I could not sit here and do nothing.

What the hell?? I didn't even know where was she?? Maybe I get to know something about her from her phone.

I tried to open her phone but it was not working as the screen was damaged. I was getting very worried about her as there was a crazy man out somewhere, who has been stalking her. What if...?

No!! I promised her, I would keep her safe. I cursed myself for not being able to do it on top of it, I broke her trust.

Shit!! I didn't even have her friend's number or address.

Where could she go like this? My mind was spinning.

But I could not do anything as I didn't know where she was.

I went back to my home and kept pacing in the living room trying to find a way to find her. But I was too tired and worried to think of anything.

I couldn't disturb Sid or Gautam bhai. I was sure bhai must have given me the solution in a minute... But I could not disturb them.

I was so much worried that I slipped a written message for her in her home to call me immediately as soon as she come back and went to the hospital so that I could talk to her friend.

As soon as I reached the hospital, I went to my department and asked if Dr Riya had come yesterday? The nurse informed me that she had come.

There was still an hour for the interns to come. Just then I saw

Siddharth was in the hospital and I rushed to him to know why had he come as he was on leave for today?

He was calling someone and I came to know that Shruti's uncle had a heart attack and he was hospitalized. So that was the reason, Shruti didn't come to the wedding. Sid was busy with the arrangements for the surgery and called Vikram bhai, who was a famous heart surgeon.

I went to enquire in which department, Riya's friend Tanvi was working.

Just when I got to know and was going to ask her about Riya, I saw Riya coming.

I was relieved the moment I saw her and took a deep breath but the very next moment, I was raging like a bull.

Where had she gone? I almost ran towards her.

" Riya, are you alright? Where have you been? " I asked her. She was back to her boring disguise. Why?

" I am fine, Dr Parth. Please don't worry. Thanks for being concerned about me. " She said.

" Thanks? You should be sorry. Do you know, I was worried to death? I came back in the morning and didn't see your car there, you were not there. How could you be so irresponsible?? I couldn't even sit for a second. You should have left a message. Where were you? Don't you think about the consequences before doing anything? For God's sake, anything could have happened to you. Who would have come to help you? " I was very angry with her but my anger was because I was worried about her.

" I am sorry... I don't want to cause you any trouble. Please stop worrying about me. I would never bother you again. Sorry!! " She said and burst into tears and ran away before I could say anything.

I was shocked, why was she saying all that? Was she still so mad at me?

Shit!!

What have I done to the poor girl? I behaved like a...

I was still standing there looking at her with my mouth open when Shruti came towards me.

" Hi! " She smiled.

" Hi, Shruti !! "

" Who was she?? " She asked me.

"One of my interns. " I said.

" Why did she start crying?? " She asked me.

" I don't know... I am trying to figure it out myself. " I said as I didn't know.

" What does that mean? " She asked.

" Nothing, leave that... How is your uncle? " I asked her.

" He is better, Siddharth called Vikram bhaiya and he operated my uncle. " She told me.

" Great !!! "

" Thank you. " She said to me.

" For what?? "

" For helping me and Siddharth. "

" You don't need to do that... It is my duty as a best friend. Bye take care, I need to go now. " I said and went to my department.

She was reading a book, I closed her book and pulled her to come with me.
