Chapter 8: Chapter 8

The Reans were working very systematically in groups.

The farm was almost set up but Ge was still not physically

fit as her wound was deep. But Ro took at most care of her

for everyone’s surprise…

Zo and group set up his communication centre and started

worKing on more spacecraft and automobiles for local

use! While they were on Earth, there was no need for any

automobiles as the humans had covered all the area, the

land, water, and air and they travelled invisibly

everywhere using their transport.

But here in Proxima, they have to have their own

automobiles and Zo and group were using the knowledge

given to them by their forerunners. The needed material

was stored in their Ave spacecraft for this kind of

eventualities by them!

The group in charge of the infrastructure was led by Fe

who was a tough lady who knew how to extract the

maximum work from her team. She was planning the

whole city but without fixing a location for the city, her

team was working on the furniture that would be needed!

The food service workers were kept busy preparing meals

for all and were led by Te a cheerful Rean who would help

everyone.

Buddyone had made his choice of friends... He considered

Richard as his boss and followed him around. But his best

friend was Te as Buddyone understood the pure love he

had for everyone… He would be seen with Te in the

absence of Richard.

Richard would normally leave the camp for surveying the

land… It was not easy as the rocky terrain did not have

much trees and the yellow Alpha Centauri light scorched

during the mid-day. So he would leave early and come

back before mid-day and assist the Reans. He had counted

the Alpha rise and fifteen days had gone since they had

landed here in Proxima Earth! He thought of Buddyone

and he had become loving companion to all including the

flowering plants within ten days!

Richard was walking towards the mountain range that was

behind the base camp on the sixteenth day! He was hoping

to find a fertile valley which would be suitable for a city.

He heard a rustling behind him and he could see few trees

hopping like some kind of windblown trees.

He stopped for them to catch up with him! He understood

why expression was so important! The trees came and

stood around him.

One of the trees said, ‘Go immediately to the camp

…

they are all in danger... they will die!’

Richard was alarmed, ‘Why? What happened? They are

very good warriors and they know to take care of

themselves… But I will go and see!’

He started running and one branch lifted him up as if he

was a doll and threw him to another branch of a tree which

was ahead… It was thrilling experience for Richard but

one mistake and he would lose his life… When they

arrived near the campsite hill, the tree gently dropped him

on the ground.

Now he could hear the commotion and the first thing he

saw made him stop… There were many Rufs like

Buddyone and they were running here and there chasing

what looked like an airborne vehicles.

They were flying low and he could not see the pilots. The

vehicle was like a transparent small orb with the feather

like structures on the top and just one seater! Once his

initial surprise has gone, he saw what the Rufs were

doing... They were cornering one vehicle in to the cave

and the other vehicles were trying to stop them…

Richard reached the scene and went near the vehicle near

the cave entrance … He could see the occupant in the

vehicle clearly…and for a second he stopped breathing….

It looked like a human except for its complexion and eyes.

The complexion was golden yellow and the red eyes were

perfectly round with straight blue hair. He kept on looking

at it and the silence around him brought him out of his

reverie…

Richard went and stood in front of the vehicle which was

having trouble lifting.

He looked at the Rufs; They were oddly identical except

for the one with the bandage around his broken leg…

Buddyone.

‘well, we have come here in peace… I will not allow any

fight here in the campsite… You go back now!’Richard

ordered them!

All the Rufs changed in to Reans except for the Buddyone.

Richard had a shock of his life but yet it shouldn’t have

surprised him knowing Reans’ habit!

Re came forward, ‘Richard, we want to catch one of

these.. We need this kind of vehicle and if we get one, we

can manufacture the same !’

Richard was not amused, ‘but you do not know how many

more are there.. There is no point in antagonising the

natives. Did you talk to them?’
