Chapter 12: Chapter 12

All the Reans were waiting for them when they reached.

Victon did not get down but promised to come the next

day morning.

Re told them everything that happened and they cheered

and clapped. The flowering plants came hopping hearing

the noise!

Re had to tell once again but when the trees arrived, he

asked Richard to explain…

Richard smiled at all of them, ‘The peace treaty has been

agreed by all the land beings and the water beings! They

will never harm you or hunt you again! They agreed for

me to be the King for Arda for both land and water! We

invited them for dinner tomorrow and Re promised a feast

fit for the King…Now we have to work!’

The trees hopped around in joy as they felt safe and happy.

One of the trees came close to Richard, ‘sure, we will

show that the land beings are no less… We will have a

feast fit for a King’

They assured that they would bring everything for their

feast!

All the plants agreed and it was the weirdest sight ever

seen! The plants, big and small screaming and dancing and

the Reans, joining them in the merriment were clear

indication of jubilation! Richard enjoyed the scene and

vowed t vo keep them happy as long as he was alive!

Te was the centre of attraction as he had to tell them the

menu.They never enjoyed any meat after coming to the

Proxima Earth and it would be really a difficult task to

prepare dinner. Te said they would think about a suitable

menu and let them know the next day morning as it was

already late!

The next day morning dawned with the beautiful Alpha

rise and Te was already on the move. He had called all the

Reans and was allotting them the work. Ro and Ge were

fighting among themselves as usual but working

excellently… Zo was talking to the plants and taking notes

of all the items that they would be bringing!

They all stopped doing what they were doing when a fleet

of orbs were seen. They landed noiselessly in the bank of

the lake and they waited. Re was little apprehensive as he

thought the guests have arrived!

Victon got down and walked towards Richard and Richard

too came forward to greet him!

Victon bowed his head, ‘Greetings! We have brought you

the fish from our farm. So many different varieties are

there… You can prepare them in your style’

Richard, ‘Thank you! You are very kind…’

He called Te and told him about the fish and Te’s response

was spontaneous and he jumped up so high that Victon

caught him in reflex!

They all had a good laugh and Re was beaming. Everyone

including the plants helped to unload the fish packages

from the orbs.

Victon said , ‘We would come before the Cynig and help

you all. The Cynig will arrive after the Alpha set!’

Then all the orbs left!

Re was really overjoyed as he knew Te’s capabilities as a

chef…

The trees brought so many types of fruits including the

fruits that could be intoxicating if one drank the juice.

Richard remembered the first day and how these plants

brought so many different plant products and they have

been using them ever since.

Richard was thinKing about the furniture as there was only

very few finished ones. He called one of the trees and he

asked if it was possible to bring some dead wooden

blocks. The tree , ‘ you want the short trunks to sit… Yes

we can bring them as nearby wood was flooded and water

logged so most of the trees died! The trunks of the trees

are there,, I will let the other trees know and will bring

them’ It hopped off with the mission to accomplish!

Richard called Zo and Re, ‘ Zo use all your Maglev

Lights… Let this area be bright as day’

Zo was pleased that he could be of some help, ‘Sure

Richard, I should have thought of it… I have many

decorative lights as well and music too! Mostly human

music but very peppy’ he left in a hurry…

Re said, ‘Richard, leadership comes naturally to you…

You already act like a King you know! I am very proud of

you… The human beings are known for their sentiments

but in the years we stayed there, some of your traits seem

to come to us…’

Richard smiled and understood what he was trying to

convey, ‘Re, go and supervise the work’ he laughed seeing

the expression on the tiny face.

Re too gave a very rare smile and left to boss …

Richard was considered a failure on Earth, but here he

could feel he has transformed into a different

personality… Authoritative, considerate, brave… well

none of these were evident while he was there on Earth. so

every human could adapt and shine provided they get

suitable opportunity!

He had been thinking of the Earth and Frank very often

but he was not able to connect with him using his link. He

tried several times since coming here, even Re tried but

they couldn’t connect with him. He hoped he would be

able to talk to him… He thought of him with gratitude as

he accepted him as his equal from the first day. He missed

only him and the old man!

The trees dragged a base of a trunk which would make a

perfect table! Richard was very happy to see the trees

seem to understand what he wanted. He could see many

other trees were bringing different sizes of the trunks. He

thought the trees here were unlike the trees on Earth and

they definitely possessed intelligence equal to some

animals on Earth! The trunks were different sizes in

circumference but not in height! So that they could be

used as tables and now must find suitable seats for the

tables!

Ro was busy making arrangement for decoration and when

he saw Richard looking thoughtful, ‘Richard, is there any

problem? You are looking troubled!’

Richard sat down, ‘Ro, we have the suitable tables and

once we decorate them with lights and flowers ,it would be

perfect! But I am wondering about the seats.. It should be

comfortable to sit and must be of same size…’

Ro thought for a while, ‘ You remember the rocks on the

farm site…they could be used as seats! What do you

think?’

The tree that was listening to their conversation bent down

…

one of the branches touched Richard and he looked up

and the tree said, ‘You can go and do something else…

We will arrange the seating… only give us the numbers…’

Ro shrugged and left the place and Richard thought that he

should stop thinking about the trees like Earth’s trees… he

thanked the tree…

He called one of the flowering plants to come near him.

When it came near, ‘Could you get lots of flowers… The

colour should be only red … We may need in large

numbers!’

The flowering plant, ‘Oh yes... sure anything for you and

peace’ and it jumped to tell the other plants and all

together they hopped off…

Slowly as the time passed, things were shaping to

everyone’s expectations! The whole lake side looked so

festive! The seating for the guests and Reans were done

alternatively, so the big and small tables were arranged

alternatively. The theme of the colour was red as red

flowers adorned every possible place! The floor was

covered with red petals and the plants have used the

natural gum to stick them to the floor so they looked like

beautiful mosaic of petals. The lights were floating all

over the lake as well as in the entire lakeshore. Zo had

done wonders by creating laser fairy lights among the

tables… Richard had seen few laser fairy lights during

Christmas and he knew how they would look when it was

dark!

Richard walked down to see the tabletop and the plants

have made such a beautiful display all around the hill and

the lake shore… They definitely had lot of aesthetic sense

as they had brought all the plants with plenty of flowers!

Re came in search of Richard and when he found him,

‘Richard your dress that you wore on the day you travelled

with us is cleaned... Why don’t you wear it for this

occasion? You must look different from others and it will

be expected of you!’

Richard did not think of it! But he was grateful that Re

reminded him!

‘

Re thank you …I will do it! Why am not able to connect

with Frank? Do you think he had removed the link? I

would like to share all these with him but I have been

trying to reach him but never once it got connected!’

Re, ‘ oh I should have told you ! There is a magnetic

disturbance on Arda’s magnetosphere so our link is getting

no result… Don’t worry, it will pass very soon! So don’t

worry unnecessarily for now!’

Richard was quite relieved to hear it…Re told him to get

ready as the Alpha had already low in the horizon!

Now his attention turned to the dinner plan and as he

walked towards the cave where his personal things were

kept…

But the cave too was decorated with lights and flowers and

he couldn’t find his things. Before he could call Re, he

came in, ‘Richard I forgot to tell you … all our personal

things have been shifted to your cave in the summit.

Victon wanted to see the spacecraft and I am sure they

would like to see it and we cannot refuse the guests’

Richard just nodded his head said he would go and get his

dress.

He walked up slowly and the path was decorated with

lights and he was wondering if the guests would come out

to the summit…

He found his dress neatly packed and kept on a ledge and

he took them and walked behind the cave where his

favourite place overlooking the ocean. He changed his

dress and it felt strange and uncomfortable to wear his

jeans, shirt and shoes…

He thought the most restrictive dress is jeans, as after

wearing the sarong for few days made him comfortable in

it.

He sat there for some time watching the Alpha set! He saw

the first orb circling around the lake and few followed it.

The lights came on and the whole scene looked

breathtakingly beautiful!

The lake water reflected the lights, the decorative lights

were around the trees, the floor was lit with lights to show

the brilliant red flower petals strewn on the floor and each

table was lit with big and small lights according to the size

of the table. The highlight of the decoration was the

awesome laser fairy lights on the lake water…

Richard never expected to see these extraordinary settings

with the limited things they had! He vowed again to help

the talented Reans as much as he could!

He saw the orbs preparing to land and he walked quickly

down to meet them!

He stood in front of the cave with Re, Ro and Zo. Richard

congratulated them about the final outcome and he

mentioned the laser light show in the lake and

congratulated Zo for his innovation!

Victon and few more Aatians came and they were all

praise for the setting.

Victon, ‘we never expected to see something like this! We

were asked to lend a hand in fixing the lights as we

thought you wouldn’t have any lights as you had just

settled! But this is unbelievable … I had never seen

something like this in the entire Arda! Really fit for the

King of Arda!...’

The other Aatians also came to shake hands with

Richard… They went around the tables and one could see

how awestruck they were!

Aatians finally came back and one of them said that,

‘everything is so perfectly beautiful and we cannot think

of a single thing to improve’

Victon, ‘I stand corrected as I underestimated you’

He bent down to shake hands with the three leaders of

Reans and it was the first time the Reans were

acknowledged and they swelled with pride. Richard was

so proud to see them that he thought this would be how

parents would feel when their kids were praised!

Re’s eyes met his and he thought he saw the eyes were

moist and he just nodded his head!

When Victon left with the other Aatians, Zo started the

music. It was actually funny to hear the famous numbers

that he had heard on Earth!

He slowly walked up to the decorative plants which had to

stand still but when he mentioned it , one of the plant said,

‘

we are creating history… I am very happy that you

invited us’

The tree which was standing at the centre like a Christmas

tree bent down and few decorative lights floated away

from the tree and once again went back to the position…

‘

Hello King, you are looking like the God himself! I am

the happiest tree today… thank you for including us in this

important dinner! Our queen was so pleased to see all this’

Richard was taken aback to hear that queen had seen this

setting!,

‘

But how is it possible…? She was so far from here!’

One of the branches of the tree pointed at the edge of the

ramp where one of the prop roots of the banyan tree was

hanging from a branch! It was simply mindboggling but

now Richard was past any surprise!

He went and sat on the table that Re showed him as the

Kings’ table…He checked if his cell phone’s camera was

functioning and it was! He took few photos of the

settings…

He waited for the Aatians to arrive!
