Chapter 317: Chapter 317: Turning theories real (1)

Theo went inside the camp to have some privacy and to know what was up with these requirements.

The mantis and the ant queen already knew what was happening, and while the ant queen kept throwing emotions of being fascinated through the bond, the mantis on the other hand became a tail, following Theo inside the camp.

[Requirements:

Guide 3 different beings through growth

- 1 tamed beast (0/1)

- 1 non-tamed beast (0/1)

- 1 human (0/1)

Use Hive Link 1 ability for 5 hours continuously (0/5 hours)]

"Okay, first comes tamed beast..." Theo thought in his mind, and his eyes directly went to the mantis.

"I have two kinds of tamed beasts... one is partially tamed and the other fully tamed... two are fully tamed and all the others partially..." He thought.

"Maybe I should try it with partially tamed beasts first? If that works, then this one’s the easiest, as a new variety of upgrade should be there if I give them some new kind of meat... but if not..." Theo frowned. If this didn’t work, then it meant he needed yet another evolution path for the already evolved beasts.

The ant queen was still not stable with the new evolution, and there was so much to still find about it that it would be a waste if he evolved it again.

His thoughts seeped out, and the ant queen tried to state that it wasn’t willing to evolve again, saying this was enough for now.

Theo only nodded to that, while the mantis was just ready enough to do anything. Be it evolution or killing, it was okay with everything.

Theo went to the next option, and that was when his frown changed to that of concern.

"Non-tamed beast... I will have to see if a partially tamed one is even considered a non-tamed one... but the most probable thing to happen is that it will be the literal non-tamed beast, not partial ones."

"And if that is going to happen, how am I supposed to grow a beast that I cannot see the evolution requirements of?"

There were more questions than answers, but it also felt like a normal day for Theo. Things like this had started happening since he was eight years old, and they had only grown tougher, but the essence stayed the same.

But his eyes couldn’t help but go to the elephant in the room.

"This is the one I cannot believe at all... evolving a human? Just what is the artifact trying to make me do?" Theo thought.

And he was right to think that. The artifact gave these requirements in a way that the specific human grew according to what it wanted going forward. It was heavily dependent on what the person wanted to do in life and also their affinity.

For Theo, he had the evolution one, which was part of none of the elements as far as he knew.

He was able to give the mantis nature and earth affinity even though it was just born with metal. His affinity was versatile in terms of affinities.

It felt more like a catalyst for things to start and progress rather than just the normal elements everyone focused on with their affinities.

Theo could understand that much, since it had been some years since he got it to begin with.

"But... isn’t my own evolution due in a while?" He thought.

He was considered a human too. But was he included in these requirements?

"I can only make these facts concrete when I get things going."

Theo’s eyes burned with determination. He liked training his physical body a lot and leveling up.

But it had been a while since he had done something intellectual.

He got out of the camp and went to his people again.

When the baron saw him, he was normal for a moment before a wide smile formed on his face. Theo could tell he was happy even before the news got to him.

"I see you reached level 10, huh..." the baron spoke, making the interest of both the attendants rise too.

Clara checked and ran toward Theo with excitement.

"Congratulations, young master!" She spoke after holding his hands up.

Theo was now a little taller than her, his hands being bigger than hers. Clara noticed those things after a long time, and a slight proud smile crept over her face.

Theo, not knowing the full reason for her smile, nodded and looked at Elias, who came forward too.

"Can you tell us the requirements, young master?" Elias spoke with literal sparkling eyes, making Theo chuckle.

He knew congratulations came later for him than intellectual stuff.

And the baron looked at the trio with a smile. He could see the change coming to both the attendants in real time.

He had been looking at these attendants, especially Clara, for a while. The way they were more lax toward Theo now, unlike trained attendants, was what made the baron feel like things were going right.

They were not just attendants now, but comrades willing to do anything for each other, much like an extended family.

They all went to the hut again, and Theo explained everything to all of them.

The moment he stated those requirements was the moment each one of them went into thought.

The baron picked up some theories, which made Theo surprised, as these were the same ones that he had also thought of, showing just how much the baron understood his affinity.

Clara and Elias gave some contributions too, but not a single one could give a good enough answer.

It was only Theo who could make this work, from theory to practice.

The baron went away after thinking that it was getting too intellectual for him.

And the trio talked for a long while before Theo went and started testing out the theories he had thought about.

He tried each and every one of them for the next two days.

And the results were...
