Chapter 315: Chapter 315: Level 10 breakthrough (7)
"When did the ape learn to use a sword, Elias?" Theo asked but moved to his father right away, as if having some inkling of what happened.
"Father, what did you do?" He asked with curiosity, making the baron move from amusement to a frown again.
Essentially due to Theo’s hands shivering from just holding the sword up. Surprisingly, the sword looked a lot heavier than before.
But the baron answered anyway.
"The ape looked sad of its strength, and since all the beasts here are like this and it wouldn’t be able to do anything normally, I felt like this was the best method." He spoke with a prideful smile, "But I have seen apes fighting with weapons before, this ain’t a new concept." He explained while looking at Elias.
Elias couldn’t help but still look at the ape moving the sword forward in a manner much more compatible with a beast.
Its hands were so nimble that the sword curved to weird angles without trouble.
"I knew I had an option to give the ape some weapons... but I thought it was not ready for something like this yet..." He spoke, making the ape peek at him and still use the sword in a great manner.
It was as if enjoying its tamer looking at him with such a shocked expression.
"The only thing limiting us humans is our own mind, attendant Elias." The baron spoke, only to move toward Theo in a hurry, "But not you, boy. What you did was just dumb."
Clara did her best to not laugh, while Elias was just in his own world currently.
"Now put that poor sword in its sheath, let me fix your wrists first." The baron spoke and grabbed the spatial storage box from the side of his armor and rummaged through it.
"Normally, I would have just left you in pain for days to heal naturally to realize how bad of a decision you took... but we don’t have time." The baron spoke and got a large bottle that seemed to be made of normal pottery and clay.
Theo quickly sheathed his sword.
"The beasts will be here in half a day, and I can feel all of them coming right toward your ant colony from the start." He spoke again after he kept the big bottle down and uncorked it, only to put his hands inside.
When Theo was done sheathing his sword and he looked at the gooey thick liquid that the baron took out of the big clay pot, he felt like vomiting.
"Ugh, always this bad smell." Even the baron felt like he was going to vomit, but he brought out a lot of it.
"Remove your armor sleeves, boy."
Theo did just that, and the moment he brought his hands up again in pain, the baron just kept his hands on Theo’s and started applying the strange thick liquid on them.
"This will not only heal your wrists but all the other injuries you got in these days."
Theo only felt disgust in the start, but soon enough, something started happening to his wrists.
"Wait, why are my hands burning so much??" He asked with frantic surprise. There was no way a medicine was going to burn him this much.
"You think instant fixes are also easy to use?" The baron clicked his tongue, making Theo realize he had started to cry a lot.
And for the next few minutes, the baron kept applying the liquid to his wrists and Theo just kept his face straight. The more the liquid was applied, the more he felt like he was being applied with acid.
When Theo looked down, he could swear he saw all the liquid being absorbed inside his skin the more the baron applied.
When the baron stopped applying more of the liquid, he placed the big clay bottle inside the spatial storage again.
Theo stayed like that for as long as he could and felt like his hands were going to melt away any time now. When ten minutes had passed, he heard some clapping sounds from the front, making him look at the baron.
"I was only saying this after getting annoyed, but you did just endure that hellish cream. You got a lot of discipline, my son." The baron spoke with pride, as if he had already forgotten about what had happened before.
"Now, move your wrists around, let me see if you need more or not." He spoke with a grin, only to make Theo move his wrists frantically in order to not get applied with that hell again.
"Wait..."
Only to realize soon that his wrists were already good.
"What liquid was that, father?" Theo asked in curiosity.
Both Clara and Elias were already sent away to train, and looking at the state of their strengths, they went and accepted it too.
"Heh heh." The baron smiled, making Theo confused, "This is made from the heart lining of a colossal whale." The baron spoke, only to think that he said something Theo might not understand.
"You don’t know what an ocean is, as it is really far from our kingdom, but skipping three of these neighboring kingdoms, a big water body starts. There are creatures inside that deep abyss that not even I like to dabble with." He spoke, and Theo felt horrified when he saw the baron make that face.
He had never seen that expression before. It felt like the baron was fighting some kind of fear in his heart while also thinking that he was way past that now.
"I know about oceans, and I don’t want to go anywhere near them my whole life." Theo wanted to say that, but he refrained.
He didn’t like the ocean one bit, even when things were normal in his previous world, but what about in a world like this one? There will be beings inside it that he couldn’t fathom in his worst nightmares.
It seemed Theo had a phobia of deep sea beasts.
