Chapter 824: Chapter 824
"Are you out of your mind?" Tang Zheng was furious, with Chen Hong only adding to the chaos, "Find a coat to wrap yourself up first, and what are you afraid of? You haven’t been caught cheating, have you?"
Chen Hong didn’t dare to talk back, obedient as a cat. She had been warned by the mature woman not to let the news of the two rolling in the sheets get out, or else the effect would diminish greatly.
Tang Zheng was in no hurry. He put on a robe before going to open the door. It definitely wasn’t An Xiuru; otherwise, she would have used her key to open the door. Besides, he hadn’t done anything guilty. He was clear in his conscience. Of course, while getting dressed, he couldn’t help feeling a bit frustrated. Tang Zheng wasn’t the kind of man to kick someone out after sleeping with them. Even if it was a stray cat he’d been caring for a few days, he wouldn’t want to see it die.
No need to guess anymore, the visitor was An Xiuru’s close friend, that rich lady named Liu Man. After pressing the doorbell a few times with no response, she began to knock on the door.
"Could it really be that no one’s home?" Liu Man felt a tinge of disappointment, having made a wasted trip. As An Xiuru’s confidante, she knew that the other woman had gone home for the New Year. Her visit here was nothing more than to try her luck and see if she could bump into that handsome guy, Tang Zheng.
"To drive a Maybach 62 worth over ten million every day, I’d happily make the trip ten times," Liu Man wasn’t discouraged. If she had not been worried that asking An Xiuru for Tang Zheng’s phone number would give away her little scheme, she would have made her move long ago. Although she had tried to inquire indirectly, the answers she got were completely different.
Liu Man had walked away a few steps when she heard the door open, and she immediately brightened up. She put on what she thought was the most charming and graceful smile and turned around.
"Oh? It’s you. Haven’t gone home for the New Year?" Liu Man put on a surprised and delighted expression as if bumping into someone unexpectedly, and then in a flirty tone, she teased, "Where’s Xiu Ru? Surely you guys didn’t play too hard last night and haven’t gotten out of bed yet?"
Without waiting for Tang Zheng’s reply, Liu Man walked into the villa shouting An Xiuru’s name. As she passed by Tang Zheng, her right foot suddenly twisted, and she fell towards him.
Tang Zheng instinctively reached out to help her, his arm ending up around Liu Man’s waist. Liu Man didn’t hurry to get up. Adjusting her upper body, her chest pressed against his arm.
"Such an obvious hint, even an idiot would notice," Liu Man waited for Tang Zheng to make a move, but the young man did nothing. He simply helped her to her feet and released her.
"Xiu Ru isn’t here. Maybe next time," Tang Zheng said, a strong scent of perfume wafting around him, which he didn’t like. He sneezed and showed her out.
"Are there really men who don’t like to have affairs? Or is there another woman at home?" Liu Man felt indignant. Not wanting to give up, she tried to enter the home, "Haven’t eaten yet? Let me cook for you."
"No need, I’m going out to eat soon," Tang Zheng blocked Liu Man’s path. This woman was too persistent, and he could clearly see right through her little tricks.
"I haven’t eaten either. We can go together. Oh right, that Maybach 62 of yours, it’s so comfortable to drive," Liu Man continued to be insistent. She didn’t want to miss this opportunity because it would be difficult to get in touch with him again next time.
"Not happening," Tang Zheng refused, but Liu Man had already taken the initiative and squeezed past him into the house, showing complete lack of propriety.
"Don’t be a stranger, I am Xiu Ru’s good friend." As soon as Liu Man entered the living room, her gaze began to wander, observing everything in the room. Chen Hong’s coat was on the sofa, which naturally didn’t escape her notice.
"Hmph, there really is a woman here," Liu Man scoffed and headed to the bedroom to catch the cheaters. This was the secret that might make Tang Zheng succumb to her.
"Enough, stop right there," Tang Zheng’s expression darkened. This woman was way too presumptuous. If it weren’t for the sake of Xiu Ru and not wanting to cause a scene, he would have sent her packing already.
"Tang Zheng, how can you do this to Xiu Ru who loves you? What, you’re angry because I caught you?" Liu Man posed as if she was standing up for An Xiuru, briskly stepping into the bedroom. There, she saw a woman in a coat sitting on the edge of the bed putting on knee-high boots, clearly giving off the vibe of an aftermath scene, "Huh? You look so familiar. Chen Hong? You’re that retired actress, Chen Hong?"
"Haha, I am your fan," Liu Man brightened up upon recalling Chen Hong’s identity, hoping for an autograph. Then she pursed her lips in dissatisfaction with her friend, "Xiu Ru kept saying Tang Zheng was just an ordinary university student. Hmph, she was lying to me all along. How can a poor university student afford to keep a celebrity and fill his garage with luxury cars?"
"Tang Zheng, who is this? She’s so rude," Chen Hong, overhearing their conversation, knew Tang Zheng wasn’t interested in the other woman, and naturally wouldn’t show her a friendly face. Forget being a celebrity; just her status as a ’Conqueror’ made her feel she was above others.
Liu Man’s face turned dark in an instant, gritting her teeth in anger.
"Get out, you’re not welcome here," Chen Hong didn’t mince words. She stood up, ready to take on Liu Man. Fighting another woman was no pressure for her.
"You’ll see, I am going to make a phone call to Xiu Ru right now, to tell her about you two messing around in her house," Liu Man lost her cool and whipped out her mobile phone, ready to dial.
Tang Zheng’s large hand reached out, grabbed the mobile phone, and with a firm grip, a ’crack’ sounded as he crushed it into bits and pieces.
Seeing Tang Zheng crush a mobile phone to bits with brute force, Liu Man almost had her eyes pop out. Then she spotted his muscled chest exposed by the robe, involuntarily swallowing. He was in such fine health; she couldn’t help but imagine just how powerful he would be in bed.
"Come up with something fast!" Liu Man racked her brain.
"Please leave," Tang Zheng didn’t want any further entanglement with this woman. "Chen Hong, get her out."
Chen Hong, after all, had been enhanced, and dealing with Liu Man was as easy as pie. But suddenly, the woman stepped forward, wrapped her arms around his waist, stood on tiptoes, and kissed him on the lips.
Tang Zheng’s brows furrowed slightly as he grabbed the overcoat on Liu Man’s back, preparing to push her away.
"I’ll tell An Xiuru. You’ve kissed me and even made some indecent proposals," Liu Man was all in now, do or die. She could tell that Tang Zheng was the Liu Xiahui type of man—who would never take the initiative, and without making a move herself, she’d never have him.
Liu Man had long been sick of her marriage and had always wanted to find a toy boy to have an affair with. Now that she’d encountered Tang Zheng, rich and handsome, she was not willing to give up, even if it meant being a mistress.
"Have you no shame?" Chen Hong was furious. It was bad enough not being able to compete with Qin Yan and Li Xinlan, but now even a common woman dared to steal her man? This was utterly ridiculous. She immediately rushed over, grabbed Liu Man’s arm, and attempted to drag her out.
"Hmph, kept by someone else and you question my integrity?" Liu Man had a good eye for people. She could tell by the way Chen Hong was obedient and fawning around Tang Zheng, guessing her status—that in front of Tang Zheng, she was nothing more than a plaything.
"Tang Zheng, how about both of us keep you company? I won’t tell Xiu Ru, I promise," Liu Man held onto Tang Zheng tightly.
"Have some self-respect, otherwise it won’t look good for either of us," said Tang Zheng as he used his armature to pry Liu Man off, flinging her to the side.
Although the woman was a wealthy lady, she only had enough to live comfortably, not enough to splurge on all the luxury goods and lavish living she craved. When she saw the luxury cars in the underground parking garage, she was tempted—if she couldn’t be a wealthy wife, then she’d settle for being someone’s mistress.
"Look at yourself before you dream in broad daylight," Chen Hong wasn’t about to give her another chance. Grabbing Liu Man’s arm, she pulled her towards the living room door. Liu Man tried to resist but got her arm twisted and subdued.
"Don’t let me see you again," Chen Hong warned before shutting the door.
Liu Man’s expression shifted uncertainly before she finally looked at the Maybach 62 parked beside her, abandoning the idea of tipping off An Xiuru.
"There’s plenty of time. I don’t believe you won’t submit," Liu Man sat in her car, planning to find a private detective to gather evidence of Tang Zheng’s secret meetings with others.
"Pack up, we’re changing residence," Tang Zheng decided to stay at his abandoned warehouse for a few days to avoid being disturbed as he could tell Liu Man would certainly come back, "Though it seems there’s no heating."
"Should we go to my place?" Chen Hong offered eagerly.
"No, let’s just buy a new house," Tang Zheng had come to terms with the possibility of an untimely death and saw no need to make do. He was about to get dressed when Chen Hong grabbed him, opening the buttons of his coat.
"It’s still early, let’s do some exercise," Chen Hong moved closer.
"No, go help me buy a house, then stay in it and start training. If you want to survive, no slacking off," Tang Zheng declined, heading out to meet up with Lu Fan.
Chen Hong clearly didn’t want to part with Tang Zheng, but she understood that he was looking out for her well-being. She had been ignored before, and now, at last, felt some semblance of concern from him.
At a bus station, Tang Zheng and Chen Hong went their separate ways. Afterward, he made a phone call to Lu Fan, agreeing to meet at the amusement park entrance.
The bus was crowded as Tang Zheng paid his fare and stood in the middle. Unseen by him, a woman in a khaki short down jacket passed behind him, casting a deep glance his way.
