Chapter 1439: Chapter 1439
"Our team is resting and reorganizing!" Dantai didn’t hide anything and confidently met the mixed-race scout’s probing gaze, laughing lightly, "As the team’s strategist, don’t you think you’re quite incompetent?"
The eye-patch man and his group originally looked down on Dantai and the others, believing that scouts were marginal figures in any team, after all, the main group members needed to conserve their strength for the BOSS battle. However, Dantai’s remark made them all change their opinion.
"How did you know he’s our strategist?" Baldy asked in surprise, hearing the certainty in Dantai’s tone.
"Interesting!" The mixed-race narrowed his eyes and licked the corner of his mouth, "It’s been a long time since I’ve encountered prey worth toying with."
The Italian mixed-race, Kevo, made no attempt to conceal his hostility and provocatively challenged Dantai. He loved to show off – otherwise, he wouldn’t have elongated his ears to resemble those of an elf, enjoyed making himself up, walking the runway, and basking in the spotlight. He relished in others’ compliments.
Bai Guo couldn’t stand this sissy. Just looking at him made her skin crawl.
Kevo stood calmly in place, facing the approaching horde of Terrifying Bloodthirsty Demons, and raised his right hand high, extending his index finger.
"God Gun, shoot them down!"
Following Kevo’s shout, a massive white light orb formed instantaneously at the tip of his finger and then exploded. Hundreds of ornate golden spears shot out in a 360-degree pattern, piercing through the bodies of the Bloodthirsty Demons, tearing them into colanders.
Running Dantai immediately retaliated, slowing down as if taking a walk in the woods. Just as about a dozen Bloodthirsty Demons rushed to his side to cut him down, their heads burst open like overinflated balloons with a loud bang.
"Psychic type?" Li Zheng’s group was taken aback.
"Has your group leader gone mad? Sending out a weapon of team battle just for scouting, or do you have so many psychic ability users that you can afford to waste them?" Baldy exclaimed, surprised.
Any team’s psychic ability users were treated as the trump card because in the Trojan World, team battles were inevitable, and they could increase a team’s attack power by thirty percent!
"I’m just a small fry." Dantai shrugged.
"You haven’t answered the question yet. How could you tell he’s the strategist?" Baldy was curious; he envied smart people.
Kevo wanted to know too, but Dantai didn’t say.
"Why do you say I’m not up to my job?" Kevo continued the topic, knowing that silence was the worst scenario. As long as there was communication, information would be revealed. A person’s character and habits would come out, even if they told lies, something could be analyzed.
"Feigning ignorance!" Dantai broke away from his usual reticence and became eloquent, always with a smile on his face, making it difficult for Li Zheng’s group to guess his true thoughts.
"What’s with all this riddling? Can’t you speak plainly?" Baldy felt frustrated because he couldn’t understand.
"She’s just trashy Newbie. This battle is difficult; I reckon she won’t even be good enough for Cannon Fodder – better to die early and be at peace," Kevo replied disdainfully for Dantai.
Upon hearing this, the nearby Newbies turned pale, feeling like there was no way out. As for those who had run away, they no longer had the chance to reflect.
The Bloodthirsty Demons flapped their wings, chasing after the Newbies. The Conquerors had no intentions of saving them, so in less than a hundred meters, more than sixty Corpses were left behind.
Some of the Newbies had panicked and run aimlessly, while others had tried to be clever, thinking that since the Conquerors wouldn’t protect them, they might as well take the chance to escape while the demons were distracted. Unfortunately, the thought was good, but reality was cruel.
Bai Guoqiang wisely shut his mouth. He didn’t try hard to kill demons; he just made sure not to die.
"Beauty, wanna be friends?" Baldy flirted with Bai Guo, moving up behind her, and suddenly reached out his hand to grab her Buttocks.
In a whoosh, Bai Guo vanished like a wisp of smoke.
"Not good!" Baldy realized his mistake and instinctively charged forward, intending to leave the area, but it was too late.
The Natural Stupid launched Gemini Moon Shadow, emerging from Baldy’s shadow behind him, and the Explosive Arrow Gun fired furiously.
Bang, bang, bang, bullets struck Baldy’s back, igniting his clothes. He tore them off and threw them onto the ground.
"What are you doing? Be serious, won’t you?" Baldy was annoyed because, although he was wearing Protective Clothing and wasn’t harmed, it gave him a real scare. If his adversary had an SS-level Weapon, even if he could activate his defenses and not die, he’d still suffer heavy damage and lose the advantage.
Bai Guo did not respond, just glared at Baldy resentfully, but her youthful, busty appearance wasn’t intimidating; rather, it made her seem adorable.
"I can’t take it; I’m in love with you." Baldy wished he could take off Bai Guo’s clothes right there and then, pinning her down and ravaging her. He wanted to hear her whimpering.
"You better keep it in check, her brother-in-law is the team captain. If you don’t want to die, don’t think about her," Bai Guoqiang seized the opportunity to score some brownie points, complimenting the Warhammer team.
"Damn it, so those huge breasts went to your brother-in-law," Baldy, who was temperamental and dark-hearted and not easily frightened, was unrestrained. Upon hearing the suggestion that Bai Guo take advantage, he scorned, "Why don’t you try rolling in the sheets with me? I’m sure I won’t be worse than your brother-in-law."
"You!" Bai Guo was so angry she wanted to cry. She wasn’t the kind of girl who could talk back. Just as she was about to hit Baldy, Dantai’s Psychic Storm had already struck first.
Baldy only felt his head shake violently before he was plunged into dizziness. A demon pounced on him, and the battle-axe struck him. Fortunately, his swollen arm acted as a Meat Shield, absorbing the blow. However, the sheer force of the attack sent him flying, tumbling amongst the fallen leaves in an embarrassing state.
"Group Leader, your Group Members are lacking in discipline!" Dantai was pondering how to negotiate when suddenly, from the sky in the distance, came the sound of engines. Everyone looked up, only to see Escort Aircraft flying in, followed by a dense array of Landing ships.
Vibrations came from the ground as the Green-skinned Division’s Mechanized Forces arrived too.
Upon seeing the Humans and Demons below, the Escort Aircraft opened fire without hesitation, strafing them with machine guns. After all, they were all long-standing enemies; there was no worry of mistakenly hitting an ally.
"This is bad, could Tang Zheng and the others run into trouble?" Dantai instantly thought about the chain reaction caused by the arrival of the Green Skins and shouted to Bai Guo to move, "This way, hurry!"
"Don’t run around aimlessly, head northeast!" Kevo quickly reminded his teammates. As for the Newbies, he couldn’t be bothered with them.
"We definitely can’t outrun an Airplane, what should we do?" Baldy looked at the Landing ships in the sky, his scalp tingling from the overwhelming numbers.
"Hey, Psychic type, can you create an Illusory Realm? Let’s bluff our way through first." The man with the Eye Patch turned to Dantai, expecting him to contribute.
"I can’t!" Dantai refused, his mind occupied with something else, "We must seize a vehicle and a radio station at any cost to restore communication."
Dantai didn’t care about the Green-skinned Division; any simple Illusory Realm could fool them.
In less than ten minutes, the Fleet was ready. Tang Zheng ordered to set off, following the tracks of the Green-skinned Division.
"Why do I have to drive?" Sha Ou complained, steering the large vehicle with dissatisfaction. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, shook it, and a cigarette popped out, which he then took in his mouth.
"We can’t just abandon the Newbies, can we?" Gao Liangcai sat in the co-driver’s seat, glanced back at the Newbies, and quickly took out a Lighter, holding it up to Sha Ou’s mouth, "Brother Sha!"
"Hmm!" Sha Ou lit the cigarette, took a satisfying puff, and exhaled a ring of smoke, pleased with Gao Liangcai’s gesture.
There were too many Newbies who couldn’t drive Green Skin vehicles, so they had to ask for help from the Conquerors. At this moment, they were crammed into the carriage like sardines dredged out of the water, smelling the Beastman’s sweaty odor, nearly vomiting.
"The Group Leader is just too kind-hearted. In my opinion, some worthless Newbies should be discarded." Gao Liangcai smiled obsequiously, flattering Sha Ou, looking for a backer because he knew what kind of person he was and being aware that the Old Soldiers would certainly disdain him.
"What’s the deal between you and Pang Meiqin?" Sha Ou hadn’t forgotten that Gao had been dealt with by the Beautiful Leg Stewardess.
"I just looked at her a few more times, then I was killed." Of course, Gao Liangcai didn’t dare to say he was a thief who, while stealing silk stockings, was cornered in someone’s house.
Sha Ou nodded, but he didn’t believe it. Pang Meiqin wasn’t vicious enough to do that. He was about to dig deeper into the story when Shen Qingshuang’s voice suddenly blared from the Car radio. Content originally comes from novel•fire.net
"Attention all units, unidentified entities detected, abandon Cars, seek Shelter."
Before Shen Qingshuang could finish speaking, Rocket shells screamed through the air, exploding nearby. The wet Soil was thrown onto the Cars like hailstones.
Sha Ou abruptly pressed the brakes, jumped out of the driver’s seat, and saw the two Assault boats flying low, their underbelly cannons flashing with Muzzle flames, spewing the fury of death.
Bullets formed a lethal line of fire, breaking the trees and then crossing a mechanical Motorcycle, blowing it to pieces.
"What race is this? Don’t tell me they mistook us for Beastmen?" Lu Fan was shooting at the sky with an Explosive Arrow Gun; unfortunately, it was ineffective.
"Aren’t they Beastmen?" Ruan Feifei ran towards the vehicle equipped with Power Armor, moving quickly.
The survivors lacked Anti-Aircraft Artillery, and since Dantai was away, they were almost being slaughtered.
"No, the style of the vehicle is different!" Tang Zheng was about to launch the Steel Sky when Xu Biyun shouted out, making him stop.
"It’s the Imperial Defense Army’s Assault boats, Humans!" After the gamer girl shouted, the Assault boats realized that those below weren’t Beastmen but fellow kin, and they quickly ceased fire and lowered their altitude.
The Assault boats landed, and the Hatch doors opened. One by one, towering Soldiers clad in Power Armor, armed with heavy Weapons, stepped down. They remained vigilant, their muzzles aimed at these unknown individuals.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" The voice from the Captain’s loudspeaker was a muffled interrogation, "Have you been to the Defense Line? Why do you have standard Equipment?"
The Soldiers were full of killing intent, ready to shoot if the answer posed any problems.
"We are civilians. When the Beastmen came, we took Shelter; we wanted to seek Shelter but the Soldiers had all retreated." Tang Zheng put on an angry face, retorting, "Are you fighting for the people?"
"We were nearly killed by you!" Lu Fan quickly interjected to change the subject, unwilling to let them continue probing their origins.
