Chapter 1403: Chapter 1403

Tang Zheng, after all a hero-level, grabbed Javier and Gu Xueqi in each hand and escaped far away in an instant.

The Storm Chieftain was enraged and threw the spear in his hand, heading straight for Tang Zheng’s back.

"Save me!" Pan Hui, being part of the healing system with low combat power and being timid—although a first-order explosion seed but only having succeeded twice—saw herself left far behind and urgently cried for help.

"Mirene, take them," Tang Zheng could no longer take care of the newbies as the Storm Chieftain’s attack was approaching.

Little Lolita, sitting on Charlie’s shoulder, pointed at Pan Hui upon hearing the words; a teddy bear appeared and grabbed her, sprinting wildly.

The spear, quick as lightning accompanied by a sonic boom, came attacking; Tang Zheng turned and swung the curved knife with all his strength, hitting the spearhead with a loud bang.

No sooner had the spear been deflected than a blizzard combined with frost gun stabs spread over the sky.

"Troublesome." Seeing the Storm Chieftain approaching, Tang Zheng immediately changed his tactics and gave up resisting.

"I don’t want to die." Pan Hui, having just reached Tang Zheng’s side, was terrified, struggling violently to break free from the teddy bear’s grip.

Mirene, not wanting to turn into a sieve, was preparing to release the City of Death Plague when she heard Tang Zheng’s reminder.

"Don’t resist, come closer, play dead." Tang Zheng released an imperceptible gravity suppression, controlling a very small area.

Boom, the ice spears struck, demolishing the entire ground and stone buildings; rubble buried everything and a tornado then sliced through, pulverizing them into bits.

"Great tactics, big brother. Now we can run away." Mirene, sheltered within the gravity barrier, saw the debris couldn’t hit them—just as she was about to rejoice, she suddenly fell.

"What’s happening?" Pan Hui screamed, flailing her arms wildly.

Gu Xueqi was calm, striving to balance herself. Beneath her feet was a pitch-black pit, invisible in the darkness.

"Everyone shut up, Xueqi, light it up with a phoenix!" Tang Zheng growled, mentally counting.

Gu Xueqi snapped her fingers, releasing a flame phoenix, directing it toward the ground, making timely discovery to avoid crashing down and turning into a mashed tomato.

"Do you want me to use my summoned phoenix as a mount?" Gu Xueqi’s back sprouted two wings of flame, ready to slow her fall.

"No need." Tang Zheng had already seen the ground. Antigravity kicked in just as Pan Hui and Javier screamed, thinking they were going to die. Their bodies abruptly stopped, hovering two meters above the ground.

Bang, bang, the rubble hit the ground, raising dust that couldn’t enter thanks to the gravity barrier.

"I’m not dead? That’s great." Pan Hui cheered as she saw the ground so close, then her cheeks flushed, realizing she was soaking between the legs—she had urinated from fright.

"What’s there to fuss over?" Mirene, sitting cross-legged and arms crossed in mid-air, gave them an annoyed look.

"I’ve got it, this path leads to the treasure vault, haha, I’ve finally found it." Javier was stunned at first, then ecstatic.

"Shut up." Tang Zheng reached out, clamped Javier’s mouth and dragged him away.

The Storm Chieftain didn’t know how strong Tang Zheng was and assumed he’d been buried alive. He turned to attack Li Kelun.

"Damn, that kid got away. I knew he was unreliable." The teleporting man was furious; such a level of attack, of course, couldn’t kill a hero-level. "The opponent must be planning to benefit as a third party."

Li Kelun’s offense became tentative, not wanting someone else to profit just as victory neared, but the Storm Chieftain’s overwhelming assault left him no chance to disengage.

"Damn, a few got away." The man in the lucky suit lay in the snow, smashing the ground in frustration, yet still ambushing, ready to sneak attack Li Kelun.

The man wrote a message in the snow with his finger, the characters immediately turned into bugs, running toward the group leader’s position.

"Lead the way, to the treasury." Tang Zheng had saved Javier, who was a character from a theme world, and it turned out to actually be useful.

Javier, facing the stern faces of Gu Xueqi and Tang Zheng, had no choice but to comply. This passage was full of traps; ordinary adventurers would certainly die, but regretfully, Tang Zheng was fearless, solving problems through brute force.

"Too slow, move faster," Tang Zheng urged.

Butler Charlie led upfront, taking a few steps after turning a corner and stepping on a stone, holes immediately opened in the wall, and a volley of arrows was triggered.

Gravity barrier deployed, blocking them; Tang Zheng, gathering all his strength, punched the wall. Cracks spread and part of the wall’s surface collapsed, destroying the mechanism.

"Continue." Tang Zheng had already asked Mirene what her ability was, and with Gu Xueqi’s purification phoenix, he wasn’t worried.

Mirene, a naive little lolita, was overwhelmed by curiosity at the prospect of finding the treasure and kept urging everyone to speed up.

After navigating a winding passageway, at the end, Tang Zheng saw the half-open stone door; clearly, it was a burial chamber.

"Found it, this is it, haha, my name will be remembered by history." Javier wasn’t short of money, loved adventure, craved fame; at that moment, he was ecstatic, rushing towards the stone door like he had been injected with excitement.

"Wait." Tang Zheng grabbed Javier’s hair and yanked him back.

"You’re too cautious, even if he activates the trap, we wouldn’t be in trouble," Mirene stretched her neck, eager to see what was ahead.

Charlie was the first to enter the Stone Door.

Tang Zheng thought there was no problem, but as soon as he stepped in, a nearby Stone Statue awakened, its arm as massive as a log, slammed down.

"Charge through!" Tang Zheng didn’t brace against it, he dashed into the Stone House. He didn’t want to waste time fighting here; he wanted to collect the treasures immediately.

"Teddy Bear, stop it." Mirene bent over and dashed in like a nimble cat. For more chapters visit novel-fire.net

Gu Xueqi threw out a giant Phoenix, which crashed into the arm swung by the Stone Statue, pulling Pan Hui as they sprinted inside.

Charlie didn’t have a life, so he didn’t activate the Stone Statue. At this moment, the two five-meter-tall giants stood up, detached from the wall, pushed open the Stone Door, and chased after Tang Zheng and his group.

In the spacious Stone House, everyone moved freely. As Mirene shot two flares toward the ceiling, all the objects in the room were visible.

The floor was made of large square stone slabs, covered with dust and growing moss. From the ceiling, water continuously dripped, tap-tap sounding, filling the air with moistness.

Around the Stone House stood many Indigenous Stone Statues, and in the center of the room was an Altar, atop which was a giant Stone Sword surrounded by Green Flames.

"Where are the treasures?" Mirene didn’t even see a single gold coin and was dumbfounded. "Wasn’t this supposed to be the Golden City? Where’s the gold?"

"It’s probably in another room, let’s keep looking," Javier was also anxious. Without any spoils of war as proof, they would be treated as swindlers even if they returned.

"What’s the origin of that Stone Sword?" Although the Wristwatch couldn’t scan, the first sight of it on the Altar tightened Tang Zheng’s heart.

"I don’t know, there’s no record," Javier replied stiffly, fearing this answer might provoke a beating.

"The monsters are coming up," Pan Hui didn’t care about those details, only wanting to survive as the Stone Statues’ every step shook the floor.

"Let’s go find the treasure," Mirene called Charlie back to her side, ready to confront the Stone Statues.

"I’ll check out the Altar." Since he was here, Tang Zheng wouldn’t be satisfied without a closer look. As he approached the Altar, he felt the Stone Statues around seemed to move.

"What’s there to see? Let’s just leave this place," Pan Hui cried out.

Tang Zheng didn’t answer, stepping onto the stairs, the Stone Statues immediately stood up, rushing towards the Altar, blocking the way out as they protected the Sacred Object.

"What’s happening?" The four of them could only run towards the Altar; Gu Xueqi had already realized that the Stone Sword was of great value.

The action of the Stone Statues further proved Tang Zheng’s judgment; with no hesitation left, he bent his knees, leaning forward. Then, like a Cannon Shell, he shot up, appearing atop the Altar with an afterimage.

The Stone Sword, five meters long and one and a half meters wide, with a handle as thick as a basketball’s diameter, was grasped by Tang Zheng who used brute force to pull it out.

As the Stone Sword was removed from the Altar, the Stone Statues went completely mad. Their speed increased again, raising their Spears, and throwing them toward him.

"What do we do now? There’s nowhere to run!" Pan Hui became anxious as the Stone Statues began swarming up the stairs, clogging them.

Tang Zheng swung the Stone Sword, deflecting incoming Javelins. Immediately overhead, he began to gather energy, a pale golden glow condensing on the blade.

"Move!" As Tang Zheng shouted, Mirene grabbed Javier and leapt onto the Altar’s top, Gu Xueqi also pulling Pan Hui up, clearing the stairs.

"Die!" Tang Zheng swung his Sword towards the stairs; the brilliance soared, sweeping over, and the Stone Statues were instantly shattered, debris falling.

After the dazzling light, the stairs were empty.

"Is it that powerful?" Pan Hui was surprised.

"There’s a crack in the blade," Gu Xueqi cautioned. The power was great, but still not astounding.

Tang Zheng frowned, but seeing more Stone Statues rushing up, he had no time to check. Gathering energy again, and just as the Stone Statues neared, he blasted out another Sword Qi.

The stairs were once again cleared of Stone Statues, now less than two hundred remained in the room.

"Let’s go." Tang Zheng didn’t attack the two giant Stone Statues, waited until the smaller Stone Statues approached, suddenly grabbed Pan Hui and Mirene, and jumped down from the Altar.

Javier was already useless, his life didn’t matter. Tang Zheng was not interested in treasures anymore; he wanted to leave. The ceiling was collapsing continuously, any longer and they might get buried alive.

"Don’t leave me." Javier, who was busy prying a Metal Totem inlaid in the Altar, saw Tang Zheng leaving and was terrified, but his cries didn’t earn the Conqueror’s mercy.

A Stone struck down, hitting Javier’s head, killing him at the Altar.

The smaller Stone Statues jumped off the stairs, continuing the chase, while the two giant Stone Statues arrived just in time to block the way out of the room.

"Move!" Tang Zheng swung his sword, sending one Stone Statue flying, more cracks forming on the Stone Sword.

The four rushed to the Stone Door, about to escape when the Stone Door suddenly shut. The floor and ceiling closed in like the teeth of a giant beast snapping down.
