Chapter 1397: Chapter 1397

As far as the eye could see, the sky was cloudless, with the sun hanging high, its scorching rays piercing the dense foliage and sprinkling throughout the depths of the jungle, bringing with it waves of humid heat.

Dew adorned the grass, and the mornings in the tropical rainforest were refreshing, albeit too humid and stifling. Spending extended periods there, out of sight of the sun, created an oppressive illusion.

Due to days of constant motion, the survivors had accumulated significant fatigue. Li Kelun did not urge anyone, so everyone slept in until late morning until Xiang Ning couldn’t stand it anymore and called the group members to wake up.

"Trojan hasn’t issued the third-order mission notice yet, what’s the rush?" Zhao Haixing emerged from the tent, stretching his arms back in a lazy yawn.

"I’m going to wash up!" Shirtless, Li Kelun then came out, heading towards the stream.

The group members were no longer surprised; previously in the Trojan Room, someone had mocked Li Kelun as being gay, and he had burst the mocker’s head with his grasp, so now everyone turned a blind eye.

Gu Xueqi was also exhausted; hearing the noises outside, she suddenly woke up and saw Tang Zheng’s sleeping face. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed, seemingly burdened with numerous responsibilities.

Thinking that Li Kelun’s squad didn’t even have ten conquerors, while Team Warhammer exceeded twenty members, Gu Xueqi found the amiable Tang Zheng far superior to the others. She hadn’t forgotten having seen the team names on the Trojan List—Team Warhammer had the longest list of members.

"What are you worrying about?" Gu Xueqi reached out, as if possessed, and touched Tang Zheng’s forehead, hoping to smooth it.

"Group Leader Tang Zheng, it’s time to wake up." Pan Hui, a woman adept in politeness, kept her eyes on the equipment he had promised and didn’t mind offering some sycophancy.

"I know!" Gu Xueqi’s cheeks flushed deeply, embarrassed at the thought of being in the same sleeping bag as the group leader and possibly being misunderstood by others; her body surged with warmth.

"Are you alright?" Pan Hui didn’t leave, "Shall I make breakfast for you?"

"No need!" Gu Xueqi’s voice trembled slightly as she mustered courage to crawl out of the sleeping bag.

Tang Zheng was disturbed from his sleep.

"You’re awake?" Gu Xueqi lowered her head, feeling unbearably embarrassed.

"Yeah, sorry!" Seeing the school beauty looking both shy and timid, considering she was an innocent girl, Tang Zheng felt rather embarrassed.

Honestly, Gu Xueqi was outstanding—be it her exquisite features, tall figure, the wisdom of a gentle spirit, or her strong personality—she was a cut above other women. Such a girl undoubtedly had a limitless future ahead.

Gu Xueqi was the kind of woman that made men feel ashamed at first glance, knowing they weren’t worthy of her. They would secretly fantasize with her photos but certainly wouldn’t dare to show their true colors upfront since they would undoubtedly be ignored.

Tang Zheng got distracted, and Gu Xueqi felt embarrassed to call him.

"Hehe, are you feeling shy?" Tang Zheng looked down and, mischievously, kissed Gu Xueqi’s black hair. This girl, a newbie who had boldly set an ambush, challenged Demonic Shadow alone without showing any fear, was now curled up in his arms like a quail.

"You’re the shy one!" Gu Xueqi looked up, rolling her eyes at Tang Zheng, and pinched hard on his chest.

"It doesn’t hurt!" Tang Zheng blurted out, immediately regretting it.

Although Gu Xueqi held no ill feelings towards Tang Zheng, she ultimately felt uncomfortable and raised her knee, ramming it upwards.

"Ouch, you’re really going for it huh!" Even though he wore his Xuanwu Protective Clothing, which prevented him from getting hurt, it still felt uncomfortable. Tang Zheng clenched his teeth and kissed Gu Xueqi on the lips again.

Gu Xueqi struggled a bit more, wanted to hit Tang Zheng again, but her thigh was held down by a firm hand.

Tang Zheng’s kissing skills weren’t sophisticated, but they were sufficient for a girl who hadn’t even had her first kiss. Gu Xueqi’s body grew hot, she felt gradually weakened and didn’t want to move, her lips tingling as if electrocuted.

Seeing Gu Xueqi’s inexperienced reactions, Tang Zheng grew more impulsive.

"What’s going on with you two?" Pan Hui called out again, not having heard the rustling noises inside.

"It’s nothing!" Suddenly hearing her voice, Tang Zheng then remembered there was another unfamiliar woman outside, so he let go of Gu Xueqi.

"What are you doing?" Gu Xueqi frowned, but strangely, there wasn’t much blame in her heart for Tang Zheng, just an unfamiliar moist feeling on her lips that made her uncomfortable.

"Sorry!" Tang Zheng resisted the urge to take a deep breath and crawled out of the sleeping bag, simply wanting to escape the awkward situation sooner.

"Be careful!" Gu Xueqi was almost knocked over.

"I’m sorry." Tang Zheng was terribly embarrassed, cursing himself for his lack of self-control, though it wasn’t entirely his fault since Gu Xueqi was too beautiful—if she were plain, the group leader definitely wouldn’t have touched her.

"Tang Zheng!" Gu Xueqi watched as Tang Zheng hastily tried to escape the tent and suddenly called out to him.

"What’s wrong?" Tang Zheng’s scalp tingled, praying she wouldn’t ask something like whether he loved her or not, as his actions towards Gu Xueqi were purely physiological; of course, he, as the group leader, would never dare admit such a bastardly thought.

"Forget it, just go!" Gu Xueqi was very understanding and intelligent, having already read from Tang Zheng’s expression what she wanted to know.

Tang Zheng breathed a sigh of relief and quickly withdrew.

"Stupid man, you can’t even deceive a woman, no wonder you can’t manage your harem!" Gu Xueqi sighed softly, "Forget it, it was just a mix-up due to a misunderstanding."

Tang Zheng was outstanding; if he were a boyfriend, Gu Xueqi wouldn’t mind, but ultimately they could never go that far. The beauty closed her eyes to rest for a minute; she wasn’t a woman swayed by emotions, and when she opened her eyes again, her gaze was as clear and calm as ever.

"My mission is to survive, I still have a family to take care of." Thinking of her family, Gu Xueqi clenched her fist, determined to leave Trojan World.

The tent flapped open, and the tall figure of Tang Zheng emerged. Standing upright, he was like a towering pine, with facial contours as perfect as a sculpture from the hands of a master artisan, catching Pan Hui’s eye.

Last night the light was too dim, Pan Hui hadn’t realized how attractive this man was.

"Getting cozy so early in the morning, you two are really affectionate!" Pan Hui peeked through the gap in the tent, seeing that Gu Xueqi was still dressed, and knew they hadn’t done anything, but talking about men was still the easiest way to bond.

"We didn’t do anything." Tang Zheng still cared about preserving Gu Xueqi’s reputation.

"Stop pretending, which group leader doesn’t sneak around?" If it weren’t that Li Kelun was gay, Pan Hui wouldn’t have approached Tang Zheng, "Have you had plastic surgery?"

On the Trojan List, anything could be bought, so among the Conquerors there were many handsome men and beautiful women, even transgender people.

"No, where’s Xiang Ning? What’s the plan for today’s action?" Tang Zheng shook his head, already seeing Li Kelun and Zhao Haixing by the stream, washing up, looking very close.

"Not sure." Pan Hui stared into Tang Zheng’s eyes, discovering he wasn’t lying and immediately felt happy, "Does the invitation to dine together still stand?"

"Of course!" Pan Hui was too enthusiastic, Tang Zheng, though slow, could tell she was playing hard to get, so he extended his right hand and casually wrapped it around her waist.

"No, not here—too many people!" Pan Hui was startled, and then reached to pull his hand away.

"I like that expression of yours!" Tang Zheng lowered his head and kissed her on the lips.

For a woman specialized in healing, Tang Zheng naturally used some tactics to win her over, such people were crucial in any team, only Pan Hui was unlucky to have encountered a gay leader like Li Kelun.

Pan Hui was clearly no virtuous woman; after hesitating, she wrapped her arms around Tang Zheng’s waist and began kissing him back passionately.

"A bastard seducing a newbie squatting by the stream for washing up, saw the new man easily winning over the beautiful young woman and felt insanely jealous.

"Get real, she can converse with the group leader. Just think about it, she’s no soft persimmon." Another newbie merely masked his envious thoughts, his gaze unavoidably falling on Pan Hui.

"Fine, if you like her, we can talk about it tonight!" Pan Hui pushed Tang Zheng away, threw a coquettish look, and hurriedly left.

"Lucky with women, aren’t you!" Xiang Ning appeared outside the tent, mocking Tang Zheng, his opinion of him lowered, thinking that a man who couldn’t control his own desires couldn’t be too strong.

"Brother, impressive, she must taste nice, right?" The teleporting man gave Tang Zheng a thumbs-up, but his eyes betrayed sheer scorn.

In addition to enticing Pan Hui, Tang Zheng deliberately portrayed a lecherous image to lower these people’s guard, as an upright person was far more intimidating than one with a flawed character.
