Chapter 29: Chapter 29

...Memories are the only way to remember someone, the rest are just things and sometimes those things can become your redemption...

Evelyn POV:-

My eyes fluttered open as I saw the mesmerizing features of my husband. His arms are wrapped around me protectively. I felt secure in those arms.

The feeling of enormous fondness for him rushed in my every vein. The tenderness of his touch and the yearning in our hearts made us divvy that intimate ecstasy. The rapture shared by us is like a sweet toxic which we want to be addicted to.

It's like I am in those bottomless pits, filled with intense pleasure and love. The devotion of us is pulling us so close to each other as we are the endless source of salvation.

The redemption from all the enmity of this world. And there is nothing but us.

My head was resting on his chest as I was receiving his warmth. I looked at him and poked him to wake him up.

His eyes slowly opened as he looked at me with those beautiful green eyes filled with love. I smiled and said,

"Good Morning,"

"Good Morning," He replied as he kissed my forehead. I smiled widely and snuggled closely to him.

"Lawrence, get up. You have work." I said as he groaned. I chuckled and sat up.

"I don't want to." He whined.

"By the way, the food was delicious. When did you learn to cook?" I asked.

"Danielle helped me."

"Adrian told me that you guys are out for dinner," I said.

"I told him not to let you leave the room." He said. I blushed.

"You planned it out? What about Uncle and Aunt?" I asked.

"Oh, that's a coincidence." We both laughed a little as I said,

"I also lied." He raised his eyebrow as I averted my gaze.

"No one asked me about you because when you left, I also left for my room," I said.

A silence fell upon the room and my heart began to beat fast. I looked at him. He swiftly pinned me underneath him and smirked at me.

My face turned crimson as I looked away. He leaned in, his hot breath formed goosebumps on my skin.

"Oh? What a liar you are~" He cooed in my ear. I shivered at his voice.

"Get away Lawrence. You have to go to work."

I tried to scold but failed. His lips brush against my ear. That elicits a sensation of being on cloud-nine in me.

"What can you do?" He whispered and I almost lost myself.

But, controlling my urges, I moved my hand under my head and held the pillow and threw it at his face.

"Ow!" He got away as I sat up and glared at him.

"You know how to ruin moments." He said frowning.

I giggled and got up. He continued to complain as he covered himself with the blanket.

I shook my head and went to the bathroom. After getting ready, I took out his suit and hung it outside the closet.

I went to Lawrence and shook him to wake him but he didn't even flinch.

"1, 2, 3, 4-" He immediately got up. I laughed and walked out.

I cooked breakfast and when I walked out I saw Adrian and Danielle looking at me with a smirk.

"What?" I asked.

"What A Night!" Danielle cheered as I replied, "Of course, It was heavenly." I smirked and was about to leave but I heard Danielle's voice again.

"I won the bet, Ant! She didn't blush." She cheered as Adrian grumbled. I laughed a little at them and went to see Lawrence.

I entered and saw him looking at me with a frown. I winked at him and left with him.

After breakfast, Uncle Ray and Aunt Camila are leaving for their flight. They left but since Danielle has just finished her exams, she decided to stay here.

"Don't stay too long. Remember your parents are alone." Aunt Camila said as she hugged Danielle.

"Of course!" She said,

"May you guys have a blessed married life." They gave me and Lawrence their blessings.

"Adrian You also find yourself a beauty too." Uncle said as he replied, "You are right."

"What about the beauty you found at my wedding," Lawrence said as my body froze in fear.

"Oh, that? I never got a chance to get her name." He replied, glancing at me for a second which made my heart stop but he smiled and turned to them.

“Maybe she was not in my fate. Not everyone is lucky like you.” He smiled, lowering gaze, eating his food.

“I guess.” Lawrence nodded, smirking at me.

Then Uncle and Aunt left and we all left for our things.

Time Skip:-

It's been a month since our marriage. Mother and Father have also come and we all are sitting in the living room. It was full of chattering and laughing.

"You should have seen that Potato's face. It was hilarious when she got to know about brother and Evelyn's marriage."

Adrian told everyone about the prank we did on Danielle as we all laughed.

"So what Toothpick!?" Danielle yelled. Lawrence pats her head and scolds Adrian, "Don't tease her." They both clicked their tongues at each other.

"By the way, Shawn, you know about the fashion gala?" Father said.

"Yeah, it'll be held next week," Uncle replied.

"So, how about we all go for a family dinner after that?" Father proposed.

"That will be amazing. It would be our first family dinner as In-Laws." Uncle Shawn was very pleased with the idea. We all agreed.

A week later:-

I am getting ready for dinner. The gala was so amazing. My father is the best! The ramp walk was so lavishing. I wish I can become a fashion designer like my father. I sighed and looked at myself.

It's the dress my father gifted me. It's a lacy black above knee-length frock. The sleeves and back were lacy. I wore matching leggings with it along with black pumps. I secured my hair with a waterfall hairstyle.

Lawrence hugged me from behind and nuzzled closely to my neck.

"You know, when my eyes met yours, Everything else stopped." I smiled sheepishly. He kissed my neck and pulled away.

"I love you." He smiled.

"I love you too." I smiled back. He wrapped his arm around my waist.

"You know, I never got a chance to give you a gift when I first saw you as my wife." He said as I nodded.

"Close your eyes." He said. I smiled and closed my eyes. I felt him tying a necklace around my neck.

"Now, open them," He said. I opened my eyes and looked in the mirror. My face glowed up with elation when I saw the pendant around my neck.

"It's the same pendant, isn't it?" He asked as I nodded with a grin. I hugged him tightly and kissed his cheeks.

"Yes, the pendant, I told you about it like four, five years ago that I want a flower-shaped pendant with the first letter of my love carved in the center; It's perfect! Thank you very much!" I beamed.

"I must thank you for coming into my life." He said. I grinned as he hugged me.

We smiled and then left for dinner.

"Look at our young couple." Aunt Kyla commented.

"They are lost in their world." Mother said.

"Just like you guys did when you were a newlywed couple," I said. Mother blushed as Aunt chuckled and looked at uncle. Lawrence smiled as we took a seat.

We all were eating in silence then Danielle spoke up,

"What the hell, Blue Buffalo!?"

"What, Green Cow?" He said as if he didn't know what happened.

"Why did you step on my feet?" She growled.

"What? I didn't." He said. I looked at Lawrence who looked at them amusingly.

"You did it, didn't you?" I smirked and spoke in a low tone so that only Lawrence could hear it. He nodded, holding his laughter as they both were bickering at each other.

"At least I am not Double-Sided like you!"

"And I don't Sleepwalk!"

We all narrowed our eyes at them at how they both emphasize on 'Double-Sided' and 'Sleepwalk'. Danielle's mouth gaped as she got up and left. We all glared at Adrian who was filled with regret.

Before we can say anything else he quickly got up and went after Danielle.

Adrian POV:-

I shouldn't have said that. I promised her that I won't talk about it. I promised I would respect her secret but what can I do when she is talking about mine.

We both were supposed to keep our dark sides a secret and not announce it publicly.

Filled with penitence, I went after her. I saw her crying and felt so bad about it. I walked towards her and put my hand on her shoulder.

"I am sorry, Danielle. I don't want to say that." She looked at me and smiled a little.

"It's okay. I provoke you. It's just, don't talk about it again." She said, I walked closer and wiped her tears and smiled.

"I won't, I promise. You also don't talk about it." She nodded and hugged me.

"I don't want to." She cried.

"I know. Don't think about it." I spoke in a soft tone and patted her back.

"Don't worry. I trust you." I said again and smiled reassuringly. She nodded and pulled away.

"Now, that doesn't suit you, My Sweet Cow," I said teasingly. She smiled back.

"So do you, Pug."

"You are the worst." I frowned at her as she smiled and we left.

Even though I and Danielle are enemies, we are each other's best secret keepers.

Evelyn POV:-

After they both left Lawrence held my hand under the table and I choked on my food a little. Everyone looked at me as I passed them a smile. I tried to let go of my hand but to no avail.

"Leave my hand," I said looking at my food.

"I refuse." He smirked. I sneer and put my feet over his. He looked at me as I gave him an innocent look.

Our moment was ruined when my phone suddenly rang. Lawrence's lips curved downwards in disapproval as I excused myself and left.

I picked the call. It was an unknown number,

"Hello?" I said.

"Hello, Evelyn," The voice said. It was the voice of a man whom I can't recognize or probably I don't even know.

"Do I know you?" I asked.

"Loving Adrian but marrying Lawrence. What a player you are!"
