Chapter 91: Chapter 91
ABUJA, NIGERIA.
"How's the weather today?" Jiddah Buhari Yakasai questioned her maid, packing her hair in a ponytail while tightening the belt around her robe.
"The weather is chilly but not enough to make someone catch cold. We've set the mattress there and the food is about to go down." The maid said proudly as if what she is said is enough to get her more bonus this month or a medal.
"Okay, good work. We have only two hours left, hurry up." And Jiddah went back to work, arranging this and decorating that at the backyard while checking the pot to see what needs to be removed and whatnot. Everything needs to be perfect, that is what she keeps chiding to herself.
"You need to wake up now, Mika'il. Both you and your daughter are not moving. Stand up, bruh!" Jiddah yelled at the top of her voice inside the bedroom, adjusting the towel around her as she blow dry her hair. She's been multitasking since she awoke, the man is not even helping the situation at all.
"Five more minutes." He grumbled to the pillow, turning on his back and continue to sleep as though he was the one who suffered the night before and not her. That guy needs serious beating, she will give him just that very soon.
"I swear to God I'll go bring your daughter to chop off your face. I allowed her nails to grow that long just so she could bite it off." She threatened, standing on top of him now like a mother scolding her child. It is not different in this case, she takes care of both their daughter and himself which is not easy at all.
"You are really mean." He groggily sat up on the bed, using the heels of his palms to chase away any trace of sleep from his eyes. He looks cute but not cute enough for her resolve to go downhill. They need to be ready before their guests arrive, that was the main plan since months ago.
"Call me whatever, I do not care. Just go and get ready already." She huffed before turning around to their closet, to get dressed. It is as though she's been waiting for this day her whole life, she has no idea why though.
She took off the brunette fitted gown sewn to her by none other than Bushra Amani. The dress fitted her like a glove, that is what she was aiming for anyway. She wants to show her husband just what he is missing since he is still blinded by something he shouldn't while she wallow up her like as sacrifice. Things happened, things will keep happening but it doesn't matter where it leads you to, just make sure you take the best out of it to come out with memories.
She got married to Mika'il a year ago, a huge surprise to everyone that knows the family but what could she do? Her sister gave birth to her baby and died, no one is there to stay with her and Mika'il refused to let her go because clearly, she reminds him of the love of his life. All the elders tried to talk sense to him, that a father can't bring up an infant without the help of a mother figure but he blatantly refused all their offers and said there is first time for everything.
She remembered what happened the third day after her sister's death.
"Jiddah, father called for a meeting in his private living room." Hanan walked in then, choking down more food than she would ever dream of to watch out her weight but she didn't care and denied she was pregnant when she is.
The girl flipped out when she found out just few weeks after her marriage, she fell pregnant and blamed it on Murad for always been hyperactive on bed. She told him he was going to sleep on the couch for three days straight and that is what happened albeit with too much reluctance and pleads. Even she couldn't sleep then, she kept tossing and turning g and she could swear she would feel him on the bed and he'll disappear before the sun rise.
"What is it this time around?" Jiddah grumbled, taking off a long jilbaab beside her on the bed then stood on her feet to enshroud her jean clasped legs and tank top shrouded upper body.
"Mika'il's family is here too, I don't know what to make out of it. My in-law are also outside, only the females missing so this might be serious." Hanan shrugged as if it was no big deal then lead the way to their father's private living room where family matters usually take place.
"I hope they didn't arrange my marriage." She laughed at her joke along with Hanan, if only she knows what she just said was the truth, she wouldn't have joked about it at all afraid it might come true which it did.
"Jiddah, I want this to be straightforward and quick, we don't have all day. Do you have any suitor now? The one you wish to marry and vice versa?" Alhaji Buhari questioned, his forefinger hitting his sky blue getzner by the side of his knee.
They came with a proposal he doesn't want to turn down, not after what his first daughter did to the family. They think that getting Mika'il married to Jiddah will help not only Mika'il, but Jiddah too. Clearly, she loves the new born Bushra Amani and Mika'il is not willing to permit anyone to take care of her so marrying him off to Jiddah seems to be the greatest idea they could come up with. The daughter will also have a mother figure, her mother's younger sister.
What Zara did to that family, he feels ashamed to call her his daughter. If he could, he would go through all the troubles to make sure they forgive them all and if marrying Jiddah off to them is the solution, then he gets no problem with it. Jiddah has never been picky, she is the quite one amongst them that just goes with the flow and maintain her life's good shape. She never talked to him about any suitor neither had he seen her with one, that is the sole reason he is approaching her with this. Had it been she is seeing someone, he would turn them down.
"No." Her answer was shaky, you could detect the confusion in her voice. Her face is also scrunched in that look of utter confusion, they get why.
"Alhamdulillah. We are thinking about getting you married to Mika'il so you can help him bring up Bushra Amani. This is a request, a proposal you can turn down immediately without thinking about it so if you feel uncomfortable about this or weirded out, please don't be afraid to turn it down. We just thought you'd be the best candidate for your niece so feel free and take up your time. We are not in a hurry, well, not much." It was Alhaji Malik's voice and the lightness it held that makes her stop the words to turn down the proposal.
"What do you think about this proposal, Jiddah?" The room got pin drop silent so that they won't miss what her reply could be.
"I need to think." With that, she didn't wait for anyone to dismiss her and did it herself. Because why not? They just dropped this nuclear bomb on her and expect her to think rationally?
Thankfully, she made it to the room without hitting her head on one of the many walls in the villa. She is thinking too much through this because at the end of the journey to her room, she has already concluded what she wants. She couldn't believe what her conclusions came to but that is the only thing making sense to her.
If she does not accept this proposal and he ended up getting married to another vile woman, what will happen to her niece and his family again? Will she be the one at fault if it goes wrong all over again for them when she have the chance to make things right? Is this what her destiny had in store for her that she couldn't look at any man with anything other than normal reactions? No love? Is that why none of the men, handsome, rich, influential, powerful coming towards her shift anything within her?
Is it because she is destined to marry her dead older sister's husband?
At the end of the day, she accepted the proposal knowing Allah is there with her and if this is the path she needs to follow and the one that will keep moving, then she'd keep going there. The marriage got conducted that same day and she was sent packing the week after when the wedding procedures took place. She got her kayan lefe like every other bride and if not more. The Masaris went through so much to get her comfortable and satisfied which was starting from the boxes.
She laughed the day she got tied to Mika'il, the thing is funny, she finds it funny. The man her sister fought tooth and nail for is now married to her. The man that had two wives is now left to tend to himself and his daughter. Just how is life going to keep testing these three families up and down? It is as if the moment Zara was known in the family, there never was a moment of peace and the minute Jiddah settled in their lives it yawed opposite.
Not exaggerated.
Jiddah is the kindest soul out there, she fitted in the family like no one did. She became best friends with Bushra, Kauthar and Fayha almost instantly making them look like Kardashians. The five girls rock on the media like never before, make them go wild with modelling Bushra's outfits along with the baby Amani. And when they all gave birth, it is as if another version of Nigerian Kardashians reincarnated.
Life started getting better, vibrant colours shining every where except for Jiddah's marriage when she started catching feelings for her husband. It is not hard falling for Mika'il's caring side but a turn off when you find out who he really is. She braced both his flaws and perfection knowing that is what a wife is supposed to. When he is with little Bushra, he is someone else entirely while to her they just became friends. It didn't make it less easy, he cared for her a lot too.
They have never been intimate though shared the same bed since marriage. She started liking him a few months ago so it's understandable though she often catch him stealing glances at her when she is under dressed or when he came in unexpected and she is just wearing something flimsy and feeding his baby. Yes, she is breastfeeding little Bushra when she found out she could pump out breast milk first few months of their marriage.
Now, she is going to fully seduce him today and get to be intimate with him even if she knows he doesn't love her like she does him. He might never do that with the phase he is going at forgetting Bushra Amani and moving on. He will keep thinking about her, she knows that deep down but will shun it away like it didn't matter when it always seared something inside her ever since she started liking him. Is that how it feels being in an unrequited love? Because if this is how they feel, she don't fucking want to do it but she is in too deep..
"You are not dressed yourself, Jids." He walked into the closet in only his towel and no doubt this is the third time she is seeing him like that. He is always extra careful but seems like they are now on the same page anyway.
"Yeah. Thinking about how to get into this gown." She kvetch, her hands trailing down the sparkly outfit as if in trance.
What if her seduction don't work and he gives her a lecture for that? What if he's never seen her like that and it was just wild imagination? But Bushra assured her otherwise, she said he is a man and no man would see her and just leave because he wants to.
"If I were to have body like yours, girl..." Bushra had drawled, accessing Jiddah in that aforementioned outfit from head to toe like she is a man herself, "I would tap that for sure and more. Mika'il is no different." She winked, removing the lint from her sewing machine allowing Only you by Bella Shmurda to fill in the room.
Amir managed to build a house for them there in Asokoro, the house was half built when he bought it. He gave his project a try and poof, he made it with just that and got to draw contract worth millions. Some say it was connection but they do know that what Amir did with that technological head of his would get him miles away if he were to keep working on it. He can build his company but he didn't, he said he wants to work under someone first and get the hang of it.
He is not in a hurry to fake life, he just wants to make his family comfortable.
He built a Stonehouse for them, enough for the three of them and more in future. Five bedrooms, a sewing room for her, laundry, enormous kitchen, two living rooms, dining room and a backyard colossal to take everything. He changed their cars to the latest 2021 cars rocking the streets of Abuja. There is nothing Bushra could ever ask for, she falls in love with his thoughtfulness everyday.
"I'm telling you. I thought I had the best body but yours, I'll gladly shrink behind." Kauthar had complimented too, pushing herself back against a chair in the room. They went there coincidentally.
"Should I help you?" She jumped a little, Mika'il's voice jolting her back to reality and she clutch her chest where her heart is palpitating in. She kept spacing out.
The man is already dressed in nude kaftan, matching Zannah Bukar cap and Italian leather dress shoes. After seeing him in his uniform, she thought he'd never look more handsome but look at him now surpassing any white uniform. She's always known the man is attractive, just not to some extent.
She thought about his question and did what Bushra would've done, anything for his attention. "Yes please." She removed the gown from the hanger and gave it to him.
She dropped the towel, her eyes tightly clenched because she knew that broad move from her will change something between them and if she doesn't do that now, she won't be able to do so later on. At least she is wearing a brown corset and matching panties, desirable enough. Slowly, she felt his hands moving up to her adjust her hair then gently slip the gown from head and help keep it down. It is tight, he had to squat down to keep it right.
He did it quite well, she is impressed. What does she expect? He was a famous tailor's husband after all.
"There." He breathed out as if getting her into the dress was work on it's own, she knows why he was breathing fast like that though. She bit her lower lip before casting her droopy eyes on him. She never thought she could pull off such broad move, but she did it. Wow.
"Thank you." She rasped with a small smile then turn around, walking slowly to her accessories and wore the gold earrings and bracelet before wrapping a veil around her to keep it simple. If she were to do makeup and tie turban, she'd look like she is going to a wedding not birthday she is hosting for her daughter.
She didn't know Mika'il was still in the closet, she kept staring at herself in the mirror while biting back a smile. Shortly, she stood straight and cast a glance to herself in the full length mirror then yawed around to leave the room only to be pushed into the wardrobe of the closet, feeling a peace of accessory digging behind her back but not enough to hurt her not that she noticed. She is staring wide eyed at Mika'il who didn't give her much time to process what is going on before he roughly descended his lips on hers.
She gasped in flabbergast, giving him the chance to push his tongue inside her hot mouth. By the time she processed what is going on, he has pushed himself away from her after hearing the knock on their door. He stared at her deep inside her eyes seeing that emotion he only wished to see in Bushra's eyes, it didn't make him hate her. He's always respected Jiddah amongst all the family, she is good kind of different.
He cannot just give her what she wants, it doesn't belong to him. Maybe after several years, he might learn to like and maybe, a huge maybe love her. There is no way though, he could feel it in him. The guilt and love he has for Bushra Amani surpassed anything anyone could think of, he just tries his best to keep it low and not make it obvious. Not after she decided to be civil with him and allowed him to talk to his daughter who remembered him.
They started talking like adults just few months ago when he dropped his weapons about getting her back, he gave up. He loves her enough to want to see her happy with his brother, the little guy is doing a great job doing what he couldn't.
Back to present, he use his forefinger to trail the lipstick smudge across her lips while still breathing hard, the aftermath of the kiss. "You will have to finish what you started." With that, he dipped down to peck her again before disappearing out of the room leaving a dazed Jiddah.
"Ma'am, Amani is dressed." Jiddah blinked, seeing the maid inside the closet which no doubt Mika'il asked her to come in or she wouldn't dare step inside. She needed that wake up call anyway.
"How is it going?" Bushra whispered in Jiddah's ear as soon as she saw her walking out through the backyard looking flushed.
"Good and perfect." Jiddah blushed and bit her lip again while trying to find Mika'il in the throngs of family and friends in the backyard.
"I told you. How about the real deal?" Fayha chirped in from beside them, they didn't even know she was standing there so it was natural for them to get startled.
"Stop doing that, Fay." Bushra scolded, narrowing her eyes and before the other tigress could retort, Jiddah calmed them down.
"The real deal might just have to come later. I'm excited and nervous. Is it okay?" Jiddah stared at the duo, her lips still inside her mouth since she didn't bother reapplying lipstick to be sure what happened in the closet really did.
"Totally normal sweetheart. You should've seen me when it happened to me." Hanan joined but her presence was known by them all unlike Fayha.
"Shameless girl. I'm your elder sister." Jiddah scolded, blush coating her cheeks but Hanan only shrugged, adjusting her baby in her arms.
"Well, I'm more experienced and you can see the evidence." She pointed at her four months old baby boy, Aaris.
"Why are you married women so shameless after doing it." Jiddah scrunched her face on disgust at her younger sister because if there is anything she noticed, then it is these married women changing after marriage to more shameless people. The old Hanan would never say something like that, even with a knife across her neck.
"I don't know too honestly." Bushra laughed before smiling wider upon sighting her namesake playing in Mika'il's arms.
It is little Bushra Amani's first birthday party meant only for family.
"The girl slept the whole morning." Jiddah commented when she saw where her eyes landed. She is not jealous when Bushra looks at Mika'il but when the other did, it makes her uncomfortable. Clearly, Bushra moved on.
Few minutes later, the cake Bushra baked for her namesake was cut by the celebrant and photos were taken then everyone made their way to the mattress laid there for them to sit. It's already late by then, the once blue sky yawed ominous obsidian and the weather got chillier but they didn't leave. It is too comfortable for them to do so.
"Their relationship is moving forward." Bushra gossipped to Amir who scrunched his brows so she pointed at Mika'il and Jiddah, they are both playing with little Bushra.
"Good for them, it's been long." He chuckled, kissing the side of her forehead while staring at his brother. They are back on good terms, like nothing has ever happened though it gets awkward whenever Bushra is there so she does her best to stay away when they are together.
Camera went off when Bushra remembered she hadn't seen her menstruation for about two weeks now. If she could, she would strangle Afrah but the fear of being pregnant took that away and she gulped. There is no way her period will come late, it's either early or on time which cleared all the doubts of her not being pregnant because she is. God, her daughter yawed two several months ago and she forgot to keep taking pills after then. Well, she wanted to fall pregnant too.
"She just had to vomit on me again." Mujaheed pouted, staring at his daughter lovingly eliciting a laugh from Kauthar. The girl always vomits on her father, never on her.
"She loves you more, isn't that what you said?" She laughed again, taking a handkerchief from the baby bag next to her and clean his chest slowly while chuckling in between.
Her daughter who got her mother's name, Khadija Mujaheed Abubakar Danbazau also known as Nina was borne just three months ago to fill in their happy home. She didn't know Mujaheed was planning on naming her after her dead mother, it was very thoughtful of him that she cried on the hospital bed. The idea never came to her mind and he decided to hid it away from her to surprise her and damn right, he made the stoic businesswoman cry on a hospital bed.
She keeps loving him more for no reason, the man became someone she never thought he would. He didn't change entirely, just Hajiya Barira's words coming true. If a soldier loves you, then you should feel on top of the world because Kauthar feels like she is dancing on the universe itself.
"She does, don't you." Nina giggled and lie down on his chest, making Kauthar coo before a camera went off. It was Afrah, grinning widely at her phone for the night shot even during the night.
"Too cute." She beamed at them then continue whatever she is doing, leaving the family with their thing.
"Are you cold?" Mujaddad scrunched his brows, touching Fayha's arms but it's normal. He felt her shiver just seconds ago, she catches cold quick so prevention is better than cure.
"Nah, just seizure. And this son of yours keeps on biting off my nipple with his darn gums." She winced again, he opened the blanket she has draped around her while feeding their baby, they are not alone and checked only to see their son Imam sleeping. Still at the birthday party, she can't exactly open her breasts and feed like that.
"He is sleeping, let me hold him." He gently pried the infant's mouth off her nipple and took him in his arms, using another blanket she brought to close the baby so he won't get cold too.
"Thanks." She breathed out, adjusting herself and removing the blanket then smiled at the father and son duo before the camera went off on them too by none other than Afrah.
"Aaris, you awake?" Hanan called out as if she expects the four months old baby to answer and when he didn't, she sighed in relieve only to land on Murad when he bite hard on her nipple too. Why are they too energetic? She hissed, removing her breast from his mouth to return it back to her bra. The baby is sleeping but managed to get her off balance.
"He did it again?" Murad questioned, his eyes showing all shades of concern, he knows how she is and how sensitive those twin hills are.
"He did, as energetic and his father even asleep." She glared at him, he took it since he got used to been backlashed at after his son's mistake.
"You never complained." He gave a cheeky smile but she didn't get the joke, she narrowed her eyes some more and he knew what she was going to talk about so he shut her up by closing her lips with his, taking in all the words inside his mouth.
The camera went off, Afrah broke the loving kiss but she still didn't notice and instead is inspecting her polaroid camera if the picture is perfect or not when she got satisfied, she stood up and left without apologizing for interrupting the moment. The couple laughed, placing their foreheads on one another's.
"I'm going to challenge you to do it in less than twenty one days. Yeah, too much but just know what I mean. Fall pregnant." Bushra whispered the last part in Jiddah's ears and ran to her husband eyes while winking at Mika'il which brought a small chortle from him because he definitely understands what they talked about after that wink. He still knows how naughty Bushra could be. He also knew why she sewed that clothe for his wife, he likes it and the colour too.
It was around eleven in the evening when they decided to leave their home, they enjoyed the night playing games and eating while enjoying being free from their children. They all slept, they took them inside the house with their nannies and they did elder people's talk, more pictures, more junk and more fun.
"Sleep tight." Jiddah kissed little Bushra's forehead then released her breast from her lips. The girl always sleeps while slurping which will make her sleep the whole night without waking her up.
"What were you both talking about? With Be-bushra." He almost called her Beyonce again so to make Jiddah feel less insecure and jealous, he drew her by her now slim waist to his chest.
"Nothing, really." She wiggled a little but then stopped knowing there is no way she was going to escape this, she started the game. Like he'd said earlier, she should finish it too.
"She said something about in twenty one days. What was it?" He pushed his nose and mouth to her neck, smelling the heaven of the most seductive perfume he's ever smelt, Chanel coco mademoiselle Eau de parfum spray.
"She said I should..." She bit her lip, not knowing how he managed to get her to start sprouting it out with just his nose marking her neck.
"Go on." He pressed, pulling her closer to his body, making her sentient of his body tightly pressed against.
When he bit her there, where her pulse is, she sprouted them out only to regret nanosecond later. "She said I should fall pregnant in twenty one days."
"Really?" He moved back, his eyes shining with mirth, amusement, desire and something she couldn't name but her embarrassment made it even harder to leave her eyes open.
She didn't answer and instead, yawed around to climb on the bed but he draw her back to his arms with force that turned her on and made her saturated below. A gasp escaped her lips when she collided to his chest, feeling her lingerie hiking up to her waist due to the force before it got back and relaxed against her thigh. He kissed her, boy did he kiss her so sensually, roughy but still in a way that turned on all her wanton buttons and all rational thought flee out the window.
"Take me into your loving arms and obey her wish." She whispered in his ear after falling down with him atop of her on the bed. He has no shirt on and her lingerie is already on her stomach.
"We shall fulfill her wish as you say." He rasped, dimmed the lights in the room to make the ambience much more romantic. Her chest heaved, showing the redundant cleavage.
"In twenty one days." He dived to fulfill and ex-lover wish, to get his daughters another sibling from another mother.
And in those twenty one days, she fell pregnant with another baby girl who got named Bisma.
In twenty one days.
