Chapter 88: Chapter 88

ABUJA, NIGERIA.

"I really want her with Amir. Do you notice just how happy she is now after what has happened? I have no doubt she won't go back to Mika'il." Fayha shook her head, sitting comfortably on Kauthar's bed along with Mujaheed, Mujaddad, Murad, Hanan and Kauthar herself in the Masari mansion.

"That's not debatable. I still want to beat him to pulp though, I'll have to." Murad cracked his fists picturing Mika'il's fresh face getting hit by him. The guy is just what he is! It doesn't mean he likes him now after finding out Zara, whom they thought is also six feet underground did it. It doesn't matter, he was the one who hurt his sister.

"I can't believe Ya Zara did all that and she is alive. That means she will trace Mika'il and come straight here, heavily pregnant or not." Hanan chirped, wringing her fingers around in nervousness. She didn't know her sister could be this cruel, not in her wildest dream! She even stole one billion naira from the budget, to live happily in South Korea at the end of the world with Mika'il. That woman is more vile than she gave her credit for.

"She did that and some more. Now that I think about it, what about Fahad's unexpected disappearance way before Mika'il's death and also his own death?" Mujaddad brought up the topic in three people's mind, Kauthar, Murad and Mujaheed too. That is the only thing that could sort out the unforeseen death of Kauthar's ex fiancée.

How could a man, a grown up man just disappear with one single message sent to his fiancée and none of his family? Not one of them saw him after he said he was going for the hearing in the court, they didn't see him there too. And after a long time, his dead body is found in the outskirts of the city? There is a huge question mark on the death of Fahad Sanusi which they won't rest until they find out how it happened. How could they be so densed and thought his death was a normal natural one? Even his family were that delusional, didn't suspect a thing as if their mouths has been closed.

"We should root to this case too before she comes back. She won't be able to escape from this, not this time around. She's already orchestrated two murders, kidnapping and is now a suspect." Mujaheed's deep voice ran with threat that sent chills to their spines, Kauthar included. When he is working, you shouldn't interfere with this man, he could be cruel too.

"But what do you think made her kill him? I can't come up with the reason why she wants him dead. Except if..." Murad trailed off, his eyes snapping to his two brothers and they nodded as if coming to a decision of why. Their eyes communicated, excluding their wives inside the room but Kauthar wasn't having it.

"Except what?" She snapped them out of their signal stuff in exasperation and impatience. He trailed off leaving them hanging on suspense, the thing she hated most in her life and not when it concerned her dead fiancée.

"If he's seen the people in the car and would've definitely told us she wasn't the one there with Mika'il. That is the only thing because let's face it, he was supposed to be at the hearing too but he never arrived and from then, he disappeared. While Mika'il and Zara were supposed to be on their way to the hearing too but met up with this well played 'accident' of theirs and supposedly dead. This should be why his life got risked and they didn't kill him instantly, they kidnapped him and kept him for awhile. It looks like she didn't want to kill him at first but had to when he didn't succumb to keeping it a secret." Mujaddad explained, his hands and fingers trailing the oak desk in the room as if orchestrating a war.

"Wow!" Fayha breathed out after listening intently, thankful he didn't use that soldier language of theirs she often overhear him talking in.

"Wow indeed. This is just the only story behind Fahad's death for that man would never have lied to me about it but he shouldn't have agreed to die so brutally." Kauthar started to get emotional, Mujaheed was quick to embrace her. His jealousy flared a bit but the man dead and she should let it all out.

"If no one punishes her, I will do it myself. Some might think she is the President's daughter and untouchable, I will punish her in the most cruel way if Dad stands by her." Hanan vowed, her eyes piercing through everyone's in the room. This is an oath she shall take to her grave, it's either Zara or her to their father now. He has to chose which one he would support.

If he chose to create rift between her and her in-law, she will severe all ties with him but will still punish Zara. She has no importance or space in this world, she is just a nefarious human that needs to be burnt. She does not deserve an easy death, Allah won't allow that on her too. She has made many peoples lives devastating, even Fuzail's who is still in jail and almost crazy. The guy loved her like his life, still is in love with her.

"Don't take the law in your hands, princess. Don't worry, your father won't be able to stand in this no matter how much he wants to try to save her. We have evidence, enough to prove that witch guilty and land her in jail." Murad kissed her forehead to calm her down but she was still blazing. It is almost taking over her whole body so he stood up and took her out of the room to the living room and hugged her tight to his chest. She visibly calmed down, her shoulder slacking beside her.

"She is very wicked. She has ruined my life unknowingly and so many more. I hate her. I despise her! I abhor her mere existence, Murad." She cried in his chest, slumping her whole weight on him but he didn't mind, she weighed little compared to him anyway. Her tears soaked his shirt but he kept whispering sweet nothings to her ear to calm her down.

"She will be punished accordingly, just stop crying and wasting your energy." He perked her lips for a few seconds and allow her to cuddle him on the couch.

"I hope B is alright though. This is traumatic to that lady." Kauthar frowned, her eyes welling up but she didn't allow those treacherous tears to slide down her face. Everything is just getting jumbled in the most twisted and sadistic way.

It made no sense to her why Mika'il is back now.

-

Amir frowned, searching the whole house for his wife but didn't find her after putting Anaan to sleep. They left the Masari mansion with the help of Bushra's parents, they took them home knowing they are still in a state of shock. Too shocked to get themselves home, they took it upon themselves to do so. Seeing Anaan tired already without her nap, he fed her then put her to bed before deciding to haunt down on his wife but she is nowhere to be seen. He started to panic, rechecking everywhere around the house again for the third time then found her on the floor, her back to the wall in their room. Farthest and darkest corner, that is how he missed her.

He left the room to make two cups of green tea for them both, adding lemon to hers like she likes it. He made his way back to the room and sat down on the floor next to her, keeping the twin mugs right in front of her. His arms wound around her shoulder, bringing her to his chest to cuddle her up. She is crying, her shoulders racking, gentle sounds of heavy sobs taking away her breaths. He allowed her to cry on his chest, rubbing his hand up and down her back in a soothing way. He didn't utter a word, he kept quite.

When she was done, he kissed her forehead and the tears away from her eyes.

"I don't want to lose you." She whispered in a croaked, hoarse voice, her breath shallow as she frisson, the aftermath of all the crying.

"Me neither and I promise you, I won't lose you. No matter what happens, I'll be stuck with you till the end of time. Whether Mika'il wants you back or not, I won't give you up for anyone else. You are mine now." His fingers are tucking her hair from beside her ear, his grip might look tight but it was gentle. His lips descended on hers in a scorching kiss that filled his promise. He is ready to go to any extent for her.

"Please, please don't let anyone take me away from you, Amir. I don't want to live without you." She cried again, confessing her love for him for the first time not how she's pictured it. She clambered on his strong thighs, straddling him to the wall, her head pushed to his neck breathing in his calming scent. She is gripping him tightly like a koala.

"Say that again." His right hand cupped her head from behind so she can stare directly in his eyes. His hand shook for a bit, holding his breath to hear what he has been yearning to hear from his wife, from the love of his life.

"I love you, Amir. I love you so much." She confessed again, her eyes never getting distracted from his charcoals. Her breaths is coming out is rasps now, seeing the intensity in his eyes and the power her words have over him weakened her knees instinctively.

"You don't know what this means to me. Those words won't ever allow me to let you go, even with humanity held at the thin end. The authority and mastery those three words have over me right now is more than you imagine. Thank you, thank you." He took her knuckles and place wet kisses on them eliciting a giggle from her as he move upwards to her elbow. She has finally smiled, what he has been waiting for.

His chest is filled with radiant light and he suddenly feels breathless, as if he is depending on oxygen mask. His limbs are extremely light and he feels weightless, swaying on strong waves.

"Don't eat up my hands." She grinned at him but didn't make any effort to stop him from 'eating' her hands. Her smile just kept widening when his lips reached her arms, a little before her armpit, he backed away. A chuckle escaped her throat at his cheeky face, the guy is unbelievably cute. That is why she calls him, teddy bear.

"I wouldn't dare. Those hands are precious, extremely rare." He wiggled his brows insinuating something naughty. She bite her lower lip and shook her head, he won't permit anything serious.

"Stop being so naughty now and let's have our green tea session." She refuse to rise from his thigh, instead, took ahold of the mug handles and passed one to him then took over the other.

"And you want me to stop being naught with you on my laps?" He smiled mischievously but she only shrugged her shoulder, changing her position. She pushed her back to his chest, drift her legs on his own stronger bigger ones. He wound his arms around her, tilting her deeper into him and his head rest on her shoulder from behind.

"You have to deal with it." She sipped her tea tentatively while thinking about the scenes that happened earlier that day. She chuckled inwardly at how surreal it feels being in shoes of her favorite protagonists. It is as if her life suddenly became a book or is it a movie already?

It would've been a really nice hit though. Such unexpected plot twist that messed her own head, talk less about the viewers that wouldn't see it coming. He, Mika'il alive?

-

"What does that mean? She won't come back to me because she married my brother?" Mika'il gulped in a pitiful way staring at his father, step mother and sister. They are giving him lecture about how he should tackle everything but he is not having it at all.

"You shouldn't even have that in mind, Mika'il. Keep that thought away from your head before making any scene. You just came back, keep a low profile and keep everything calm. Don't interfere in their lives, don't!" Alhaji Malik warned his son, his eyes ablaze with warning to stop him from committing grave mistake. That should not occur in his family, he refuse to permit that to happen.

His sons won't be enemies of one another, not in his home!

"Yes. I think you should focus more on the fact that Zara is coming here anytime soon and think about how you are going to take care of your child after she gives birth for there is nothing that will stop her from landing in jail. Think about your child's future and yourself too." Kauthar mingled in too, checking her nails to see whether anything got stuck inside. She is acting nonchalant about it, she is right though. She can't wait to see Zara rotting in hell!

She has killed her fiancee in cold blood, she does not deserve to breathe fresh air after she gives birth to her nephew or niece. She will be at the top front to make sure she has no happy end, she shall rot where she should be. This is not something Zara could do by herself, someone is definitely helping her from Nigeria while she is away in Seoul. But her husband and his siblings are not stupid, they are working on finding out this person with the police force and will stop at nothing until they are brought down to justice. She won't be far behind too, she shall follow her own trick and help her husband.

"But how could you guys think I will be able to move on? I loved her and I still love her a lot, you all know that but want to punish me? This is unfair! You shouldn't have allowed him to marry her, not even get close to her enough for her to agree!" He is now throwing tantrum like a child but he doesn't care, they should think what they want to think. That is his wife, the woman he would turn hell and heaven for.

"You divorced her." Kauthar stated as if it is a fact, it really is though. He divorced her himself, no one forced him to do it but his useless small brain that is almost non existent thought she killed their mother. For real real?!

"I did but it was only one. I have the right to bring her back to my home if I want had he not married her behind my back." The veins on his forehead and neck and popping in irritation and annoyance. They are joking with his heart and life now, he should really have died for real than witness this pure torture of mental anguish.

"You were dead and it was three. You said you have 'severed' all ties with her!" Kauthar rose her voice another octave, showing him the path he has forgotten. His own fault, his new wife whom he got married to because his first wife stopped giving him much needed 'attention' and all of that sort. He brought this upon himself!

"I was dead, it was just a lie. And how long had it been since my death? Eight to nine months only? And he is already married to her for more than two months already! This only means one thing, he has been waiting for this opportunity!" This had Alhaji Malik sitting on edge of the sofa, disregarding the calming hand Badriyah has on his shoulder as if trying to stop him from doing something he'd end up regretting.

"You mean to say even I got married because I was waiting for your mother to die?" His question was met with a deer caught in the headlight look from Mika'il who suddenly got speechless of what his father said. He didn't know when the tables turned on him now but the look in his father's eyes had him resenting.

"That is not what I mean." He stuttered a little, his eyes falling to the carpet underneath his feet. He really is losing hope on getting his wife back and she does not even want to see him. Yes, she didn't look at him the whole time they were there and when her parents offered them a lift, Amir took her in his arms with his own daughter and left. Amir had the nerve to throw him a warning glance, that sly little fucker!

"Good. That is exactly what has happened months ago with them. Amani's parents were ready to get her married to one of the many suitors wanting her hand in marriage but Amir stepped up to save her from falling into the wrong hands. And you think she would've been unmarried till now? Wake up! She would've married another man if not Amir but even her parents want Amir, she wanted Amir, I want Amir and so does everyone else." He explained, leaning his back against the couch to keep his haughtiness in check.

"And besides, Amir makes her happy, a lot more than you did. I am not doing or saying this to make you feel bad, bro, but the truth. If you still love Bushra like you did before, then you should leave them two. They are happy together, make each other happy too. All you can do is exit their lives, don't interfere in their affair because they are meant to be. Allah planned all these because they needed to be together. He brought Zara is your lives to create all the rift, plots and dirt holes for that to happen. This is your destinies!" Kauthar explained to Mika'il who listened intently like a kid but has in mind not to agree.

But he felt it in him, the slow but processing will to give up and let her be happy. What Kauthar said is true, they are happy together if their pictures on her social media is anything to go by. He has been married to her for two years but their photos together weren't as many as the ones with Amir now, too much of them. And he is sure Amir will take care of her more than anyone, he suppressed his own happiness for her after all.
