Chapter 39: Chapter 39

ABUJA, NIGERIA.

"Fuzail, I love you!" She gave him a smacking kiss taking him by surprise but he was quick to recover and pull her closer to him. She grinned into the kiss, she has wanted to do that ever since finding out her mother in-law is no more, she loved that.

She's known about Fuzail's love for a long time and she always use it against him to get what she wants. This is one of reasons why she decided to turn to him and not anyone else, she knew he won't question her no matter what. She's made him do a lot of things in the past, this time is no different. When he asked whether she is leaving for good, he meant whether she is going to leave Mika'il and come to him but she lied to him.

How can she leave Mika'il after all the battles she's fought and the sins she has committed to get him? Is that going to go down the drain like it never happened? Hell no!

Fuzail is one emotional fool, one look from her will get him all flustered and it makes her question whether he really has killed her mother in-law or asked someone to do it. He looks too innocent to be able to kill someone, he would've definitely been caught by the time he was done. There is a huge question mark in the whole death of her mother in-law, it might not even be murder but who is she to go tell anyone about it? Even if it is not murder, she will take the secret to her grave in million years to come, she is not that stupid to let the chance slip.

She has two reasons to not tell anyone that her mother in-law died a natural death, if she really died naturally. If she dare to talk out, Bushra Amani will be released and Mika'il will be head over heels in love with her again and try seeking her forgiveness on his knees. Granted, he has divorced her but a love like that will always find a way to get back together, she could feel it in her bones. So no, she is never going to tell the police or anyone that it was usual, ordinary healthy death, it won't come out from her mouth, never. Not after getting once in a lifetime opportunity to be with her husband all alone, fate is on her side for the first time.

Bushra might be proven innocent with time in the court but before everything could be cleared, Zara knew she is going to plan something much more trickier than this, something that will make sure Mika'il and Bushra won't ever get back together. She has orchestrated the plan in a matter of few minutes while standing atop her mother in-laws corpse. You'd think she will feel guilty about the woman's death, she was busy knotting out more plans to separate two lovers. That has been her plan right before she entered the household, it won't get ruined for nothing.

She also loved Mika'il, maybe even more than Bushra. The only difference between them is, Mika'il loves Bushra more than she does him while he doesn't love her, but she will change that too.

Another reason she can't talk about the nature of her mother in-laws death, people will question how she found out it was natural and everyone will know about her and Fuzail. She is sure that even her father will be disappointed in her, he is tricky too but this one, he won't let it slide. She feels evil but then again, all is fair in love and war. This is a war for love between three of them, the one who wins will take the trophy and from the pace everything is going, she has the upper hand, she has Mika'il by her side.

"You don't love me." Zara stared at the emotional fool staring at her with lovey dovey eyes, she really feels sorry for him sometimes. She has never given him any false hopes but the guy don't understand simple no, she will continue using him till the case is closed.

If she acts like she loves him, he might even take the blame when the time comes and that is what she needs at the moment, someone to back her up when the case is deploring. She needs to keep him close to her so she can keep closer eyes on his moves, she can't make mistake when everything is reaching the very last stage. Once her last plan gets through, she won't have to watch out for anyone but herself and Mika'il, everyone will be useless from then. She could only hope that it goes way better than this one, it should make route for a brighter future, for scented candles.

"I do love you, Fuzail. You just don't see it and don't bring Mika'il, I am not done with him. I'm going to give you only pleasure today, pleasure alone." She nibble with the collar of his shirt, watching him in the eyes to show him just how much she is willing to sacrifice for what he had done for her that very day.

She left her in-laws house to come see him in their home, outside the chamber where no one can see them. The police refuse to let them take the corpse till the next two days after they go to court and everything has been searched up. Mika'il was very adamant on taking the case to the court as soon as possible. Zara don't even recognize the man he has become, like someone is using his body but not his brain. The Mika'il she knew would never do that to Bushra no matter what, he'd do his best to prove her innocent.

She wants to find out what is going on in his head but he is pushing everyone away, the sadistic soul.

The house is still in chaos not wanting the police to take Bushra away and the police think they have all the evidence they need to keep her under custody. Zara was tired of all the drama and Mika'il also disappeared from there so she took that time to come show her gratitude to her stepbrother whom she don't share blood relations with. No one will be able to do what he's done for her, he is her lucky charm. She is darn sure he takes good luck wherever he goes, and that is why his mother manage to lure her father, that is what they think from the beginning.

She started removing her clothes one after the other and Fuzail flinched because he remembered what he has done few hours ago with a woman older than him, older than his own mother. After he came back home, he drown himself in more alcohol so he is still in an intoxicated state, he don't want to remember what has happened earlier. He didn't kill the woman, she died naturally but he can't open his mouth or end up bursted.

He didn't feel aroused staring at Zara's naked body, not when he was with the now dead woman. His chest tighten at the thought of the woman dead, he wanted to desperately apologize to her and ask her to keep the secret. He knew she would've done it, she forgave him right before she died and ask him to mend his ways. It was going to haunt her so he was also happy that she died, he don't want to be the cause of her ruined life.

He's regretted ever been drunk, he vowed to never stare at liquor his whole life but he didn't vow not to commit adultery, especially not turning Zara down. But after this, he won't ever cross the limit till he makes sure she is his, his very own wife. What happened with Hajiya Khadija should take a toll on him but it didn't, staring at Zara makes everything look right. She is married, she didn't shy away from him then why would he? He also knew that when she got married, she was not a virgin, she has confessed to him once upon a time. She gave her virginity to an older man during her university days, he didn't tell anyone too.

With that thought, he drew her naked body to his and made love to her like any lover would.

-

"No, Sir, we must arrest her now. You have been wasting our time, we need to investigate not console." The police announced again looking worn out by what has been going on in the family. There is no doubt this woman didn't do anything she is getting accused of but it is his work to prove her innocence and that can't be done if they don't allow them to take her to the station and get jailed. An FIR has been filed against her by her own husband, they can't take the matter lightly now. Each and every single member of the family is disappointed in what he has done but that is not where their work lies, they work with evidence and proof.

"You can take her with you, we shall meet at the court." Alhaji Abubakar Danbazau's voice took over the shambolic atmosphere of other occupants begging him to let her stay with them.

He's been hearing the same thing over and over again for more than an hour, he's had enough. He is going to let them do their job while he focus on investigating more into the case and prove his daughter innocent. If his son in-law won't work with him, that is fine by him and nothing else matters now other than proving his daughter innocent. Before the media decide to get a whiff of this, he will make sure to clear her name. He won't be known as the great lawyer and judge here if he doesn't prove it to the world that he can save his family first. This is like a challenge and he has never failed one, not this time when it comes to his only daughter.

"Dad, what are you saying? They can't take her away when she didn't do anything." Murad was quick to say no, even her other brothers are about to say what he first them to. They need to understand though, they are stopping the police from doing their jobs.

"We are not helping them by keeping her here and it will only prolong the case. She is not in her right state of mind, she is lost already and won't notice where she is for now. If this gets longer than it should, she might lost it all together." He explained, adjusting his glasses around his eyes while planning how to start untying the knots in the case.

"Fine, but Mika'il will pay for this, dearly!" Mujaddad promised through gnashed teeth while staring at the policewoman handcuffing his younger sister like a criminal. He will make the man pay for what he has done, he vowed.

"I will make sure he does. I don't care if he is my brother or not, he's crossed the limit now." Amir is also boiling with anger, the wrath eating up his whole system. All he could see is red, he would want to tighten his hold around his neck till he yaw blue.

The police took Bushra away leaving Anaan to cry like the world is about to end, like she knows what is going on. Afrah is holding her in her arms in an emollient way, pacifying the unpacified infant. Bushra didn't know what was going on, she kept following them around while staring into space. Everyone is trying to calm Anaan down, her cries filled up the entire room and no one can hear their own voice. She is becoming more hysterical as her mother gets pushed inside the police car, her hands swinging as if waiting for her mother to take her away.

"She is not stopping." Afrah complained with widened eyes, she is always able to stop the infant from crying but not that time.

All Mika'il's siblings eyes filled with tears as if knowing the pain the baby is going through because of their mother. They also just lost their mother and weren't given enough time to grieve before another problem fell upon their shoulders. Just like Anaan, they can see their mother taken away but can't give her her last rites while in Anaan's case, they are taking her away for a crime she didn't commit. The baby won't stop wanting her mother to come back to her but she never did neither did she turn around to look at the baby she left behind, like their mother did.

She just went to take a bath while they go up to do their thing and meet up later to have some coffee but no, she left, for forever!

"I think we should sedate her, she won't ever stop once she starts." Kauthar is in tears as she move closer to Afrah and Anaan then ask one of the maids to bring the injection they have just in case. She shouldn't do that to Anaan but they have no other option, she won't ever stop without her mother at this point.

As soon as Kauthar sedated her, she started lulling around like someone ready to lost consciousness, just like the infant she just sedated. Mujaheed moved in quick strides and help her stand on her feet again, she still didn't get back to her senses so he took the liberty of guiding her to the nearest couch not minding that there are people around watching them. Once she sat down comfortably, he move around to watch closely so she won't fall off the couch too. He didn't know he would ever be able to do that to any other woman other than his sister but look at him helping another woman in front of someone who confessed her love for him, Fayha.

"Are you okay? Do you need something?" He questioned, watching from his peripheral vision as Fayha look away from them and stared at his younger brother who was staring back at her in question.

He grinned inwardly despite the situation, his brother has always had a thing for her so he didn't want to interfere.

"No, I'm okay." She don't look okay to him but this is Kauthar Malik Masari, the toughest woman in Abuja and also the most renowned ruthless female business woman. He can't believe he is seeing her weak side.

He stood aside when her fiancée came rushing to her side, he sat down on the sofa but left good amount of space between them. Mujaddad shrugged and left the place, to give them privacy. He should start with getting some evidence to prove his sister innocence, he hates the idea of her being locked in that jail and not for one night, two. This is going to be the most toughest time for their family, his mother should really not come there. She's heard about what happened, she was in the hospital but came rushing.

"Where is my daughter?" She inquired as she step her foot inside the living room while searching for her daughter, she didn't find her. Everyone's attention is now on her, the carbon copy of the woman taken by the police.

"Calm down, Mom. The police just took her but we are here to get the evidences to prove her innocence. She will be out of there in no time." Murad consoled his mother, giving her a hug to calm her down but she kept her cool collected nature, she can't do that.

"How can we all stay here when she is in the station? That filthy, unethical place is meant criminals not for my innocent daughter!" She screamed again, her hands moving away from her youngest sons. She stared directly at her husband from across the room who stood up with a defeated look on his face.

"There is nothing we can do for now. We are going to the court in two days, I will get our daughter out of there, I promise." He hugged her closer to him and the other strangers in the room awed despite the atmosphere. Seeing older couple being lovey dovey is really something else.

"Please don't make her suffer, she's been through a lot. And where is Mika'il?" She meandered away from his arms to look around again for the nth time searching for her son in-law.

"He is not here, Mom. He has done terrible things, I won't ever forgive him, friends or not. I will show him his place. He really shouldn't have messed with soldiers' sister, this is the gravest mistake he will ever commit..." Mujaheed told her what Mika'il has done throughout the night and his mother was horrified.

Her eyes were wide as she stare at her son filling her in on what her son in-law did to her daughter before her arrival. Being a woman who hears about spiritual problems all the time, she only guessed that Zara did something, she has to. How could such loving man do that to his wife for no reason? She don't want to wrap her head around it, she don't want to believe what is right in front of her face.

"He did that?" Her jaw hung on the floor, she searched the room again to have a glimpse of Mika'il but he wasn't in sight.

"Yes, Mom. I will make sure he gets a painful death, he shall beg for death before his time comes. I trusted him with her but he did this?" Mujaddad is trying his best to keep his anger at bay, he kept it deep inside him.

The war is about to begin just now.
