Chapter 32: Chapter 32

ABUJA, NIGERIA.

"You think because you are some Major, you can make me apologize to you? Seriously?" Hanan glared at him, her arms closing themselves underneath her bosom while she made her eyes into those slits that scare away all her maids but this man merely raise a brow, like she is just a midget underneath his shoes and damn right, she feels like one too with that kind of gaze.

"Yes, my dear, you are going to apologize to me because I'm a major who can kill you without batting an eyelash. Don't worry about telling your daddy, I'll make sure to tell him so we can see what he can do." He threatened, his eyes staring deep into hers like he is searching for secrets but he won't see any, not if she doesn't tell him. He looks like he was going to do what he's just said and truth be told, her heart dropped to her legs at that threat. No one has ever threatened her and made her believe they were going to go through with it like this motherfucking soldier.

"I won't apologize to you since we are equally at fault. It's either you apologize to me first or we do that together, I won't apologize first." She won't let her facade drop, this man will only match all over her. She know men like him, they are always trying to sneak in for something they shouldn't but she is just his match too. He should inquire about her after this encounter before messing with her again.

"I would've apologized had it been you didn't rudely demand that I watch out. I can spend the whole day arguing with you but sadly, I have much more important things to do. You are going to apologize to me, princess." Unfortunately, her eyes were staring at the way his plump lips move instead of listening to what he's been saying. She couldn't concentrate when her eyes landed on them, she don't know how or why but she is trapped in a web she shouldn't have looked at. What is it about this guy so intriguing?

"Huh?" She questioned after a few seconds feeling like a fool staring at him like that. He's asked something or said something which demands a reply but she didn't hear him, she was lost. He is now staring at her with contempt, she wished she could say her eyes are staring at him with the same emotion, she knew they have something else but hopes badly they are blank.

"Apologize and let's leave this place, princess. Why are you getting so lost? Never seen anyone better?" He mocked and the way the princess rolled off his lips sounded like both a curse and adoration, she can't say which one. Maybe he was cursing her but she is acting like a useless teenager picturing something else. She needs to get fucking grip on what she is doing, this man is no good for her mental health!

"Don't call me princess, you don't have the right and pfft, stop getting ahead of yourself. Even my personal Butler is way better than you can ever be so with that aside, kindly move out of my way. I don't want your apology." She made a move to leave the place, angry that she is against the wall, she cannot move back or else she will be backed to the wall and that is the weakest situation she'd ever be in.

"You don't want my apology? As if I was going to apologize after finding out you are amongst the people making my sister's life hell." He huffed, suddenly angry at himself for letting their conversation go long when he should've ordered her to apologize and leave. He also didn't like the fact that he liked their conversation, he enjoyed irking the aloof president's daughter for a moment there.

"And I thought you forgot who I am seconds ago. A man is meant to marry four women, that won't change because of your sister." She feels like the ball is now in her court, she will irritate him till he hates the idea of waiting for an apology and allow her to leave. The guy is so full of himself and his family, funny.

"Miss I-Too-Know, you don't get to tell me about my religion, okay? Had it been he married any other girl than that horrible sister of yours, everything would've been better. I don't have problem with him getting another wife neither does my sister but the fact here is, it should've been anyone but your sister." He spatted, what he has been meaning to tell the sister but he is saying it to the younger one so he feels a bit light. The girls need to be put back in their places, their horses would wander off.

"Don't you dare insult my sister! You are just not able to take the fact that someone took your sister's position in her own husband's home. Cheer up, big guy, let your sister handle herself." She gave a look of sympathy trying to get him to react and he did, damn did he. His eyes yawed red, she took a frightened step back getting herself trapped to the wall. She shouldn't have gone so far in her victory bed.

"No one can take her position in Mika'il's life, I hope your sister knows about that. And if you dare think about interfering in their personal life like you want to, I'll make sure you days are numbered. If I ever find out that you are conspiring against my sister, I will make your life a living nightmare. I'm going to make sure you regret ever knowing me." His threat were as solid as his arm, he is not joking about making her regret knowing him. She gulped, she don't want to come back to that gym again but where can she go now? There are no other high end gyms around than that one.

How on earth did he find out that they are working against his sister though? Is he so good at reading people or did he just guess? But from the way he said those words through gnashed teeth, she is sure the man knows something she doesn't. Maybe he's studied psychology before going to NDA, she won't be surprised. His eyes weren't wavering, neither did the emotion in his eyes that says she should not deny anything he is saying. She won't deny, she can be intimidated but she does not lie, it is not her style.

"Don't threaten me, I don't like threats. You should also calm down, your sister is a big girl and knows what she is doing. Keep the big brother act now and leave me alone." Her words are choked but she is actually glad she didn't pee her pants. There is no doubt, there are soldiers that can ruin your life with just a glare and this man is one of them.

"There is no one more important to me than my sister. If you, or your sister hurt a single strand of her hair, I'm going to make you both disappear. Your father won't be able to stop me, he won't understand what is going on under his nose." A malicious smile took over his face and he moved back seeing as he has intimidated her enough, she won't try crossing him again like she had.

"Whatever, I don't care about your sister or what she does in her home. As long as she doesn't hurt my own sister, she will be in safe hands." She patted the side of his olive cotton shirt unconsciously then gave a mocking smile and then she disappeared from the wall. Finally, she could breath without the smell of his Clive Christian perfume.

"I hope we don't meet again." With that, he turned around and left the gym hearing his brothers calling out to him. He can't believe he's talked with that horrible woman for more than seconds, he can't stand her but for some odd reasons, he didn't feel suffocated, rather, he enjoyed riling her up and seeing her cower in fear. He knew he has always been intimidating, even when he doesn't want to be.

Hanan stared at his broad back as he walked down the hall to the front door then left without turning back to look at her. That has never happened, everyone wants to talk to her and if she chase them away, they'd still turn around to look at her. She hates the man but she liked their conversation, not the part when they brought their sister in. She is not planning much against Bushra Amani, her sister knows how to take care of herself so she don't have to worry. But the question here is, what is Murad Sadiq Danbazau doing to her?

She thought she was immune to feelings after what has happened in the past, after the things she's seen with her naked eyes. When an innocent little girl saw what she shouldn't, she thought she was done and gone for. She has changed ever since but it looks like her heart didn't, it is still innocent and saint.

-

It's the first week of Ramadan and everything has been hectic so far but Bushra enjoyed her time. She cooks meals and take them to her mother in-law, especially those sweet ones that her father in-law will advice her not to eat because of health. She says that her husband being a doctor really doesn't help her matter, he is always advising her into eating this and not eating that. She's complained that he likes to give her vegetable like she is some goat but he will pacify her and say it is for her own good. Bushra liked that banter of theirs, it is amusing to watch.

"How's Zara? I hope she doesn't cause problems in your home?" Her mother in-law had asked the last time she was there, she went there because Zara forced Mika'il to go to a restaurant for their iftar so she made her way to her in-laws, she won't stay at home again.

"She is acting rather cool about everything and is talking about pregnancy up and down." Bushra shrugged her shoulders again, her mind drifting to when Zara request that she gives her another stick, she didn't say anything after that. She didn't tell her she was pregnant or not and Bushra didn't ask.

"Pregnancy? Please don't tell me she is pregnant." Her mother in-law grimaced, she clearly hates Zara and Bushra liked it even though she don't want to. Who wants their mother in-law to like their cowife? She can't give answer about that, she is happy with the way they are.

"Belle Meré, we can't say things like that. She is going to have Maan's baby in her womb, not someone else's so it's okay." Bushra shrugged, she is not okay with that but she is not going to say it out loud. No one knows the limit of her jealousy but herself, she rather have it inside of her.

"Okay? I don't know why you sound so cool about having a cowife. If Malik ever marries another woman now, even though I'm old, I will make sure to feed them both to dogs." Hajiya Khadija fumed at the thought, it elicited a laugh from Bushra. Her father in-law will never marry another woman when he has this beautiful petite woman, there is no way in hell that can happen. Bushra knows how beautiful and young her mother in-law is so her father in-law shall be smitten till the end of time.

"And you think daddy will ever marry? Never! This is our fate, we can go through it by Allah's grace." Bushra beamed then changed the topic, she won't talk about those things that depress her ever again, she has gone past that.

Zara smiled at Mika'il. Soon, he is going to be all hers and nothing in the world can stop that from happening, she is Zara after all. Bushra is going to leave the photo for her, she will make sure of that. Her plan is already starting to move, Mika'il is not saying no to her and she could smell pregnancy. She is not sure about it though, all the tests say negative so maybe she will soon be. She never lose the opportunity to have Mika'il with her, they are always together during her nights to make sure she falls pregnant as soon as possible.

"Good evening, mother." She greeted her mother in-law as soon as she was accompanied to where she is, in the family living room.

She's going to set her plan into motion as soon as she can, maybe before Ramadan ends if Allah hopes. Ha, she is calling Allah's name when she is doing evil deeds, she can't help it as she needs His help always. Mika'il will be with Bushra now so she wants to start her plan while they spend their last days together. She will let them have their way, maybe set a date for them to have some memories to treasure when the time comes. Ramadan should be filled with duas but her own is only evil, she couldn't wait any longer.

"Evening, Zara. When did you arrive?" The woman clearly don't like her, but that is the least of Zara's thoughts. Her mind is focusing on her next plan, she won't let that dampen her mood. She's already married Mika'il, she won't leave him no matter what happens.

"Just now, mother." She started acting out, squirming in her sit while wringing her fingers around. Her eyes dart around the room waiting for the woman to notice how her acting anxious looks, she hopes it is working out. And just like she expected, the woman ask her the same way she thought she would.

"Why do you look so nervous, dear?" Her eyes are concerned even if she doesn't like her, she cares about her new daughter in-law. Zara smiled nervously again, she can really act it out if she wants to just like she is doing right then.

"Mother, I don't kn-know how to say t-this to you withou-t sounding stu-tupid." She made her words stammer in between, her eyes tearing up with tears before she blinked them away after her mother in-law has seen it.

"Tell me."

"Bushra thinks it will be better if I abort my baby..." Zara was cut off when her mother in-law stood up, her hands moving to hold her veil around her body. Zara thought she was going to slap her, she looks like she wants to really slap her for real though.

"What?!" Hajiya Khadija's voice echoed throughout the quite room, she couldn't believe someone is talking about Bushra like that. Those were the words Bushra can never use, she can't believe it.

"That's why I said I don't want to sound stupid. She thinks because her daughter is still very much young, we should wait till she is two or three before I give birth. I totally agree with her, mother. I mean, the responsibility will be too much on Mika'il so everything is okay. I just thought I should tell you about it since it's a big step." Zara swallowed, all in the name of acting out what she is about to do. Oh, this is going just the way she wants it to.

"No, I believe she won't say this and even if she does, she wasn't in her right state of mind. This is wrong, don't abort a baby because of responsibility. Has Mika'il ever talked about being financially unstable?" When Zara nodded meekly like a small girl, she continued, "Then why are you making the decision for him? Talk to him and make sure you don't abort the baby. I will talk to Bushra about it." The woman is standing but her eyes are showing so many emotions, ah, this is good.

"No, mother. Please don't talk to her about it, she will feel bad since she thought she's given me the best advice. I don't want her to feel bad, she is a nice person. I won't abort it, I don't need to ask for Mika'il's permission if you agree that this is wrong." She is smiling sardonically since the woman is not facing her. This is hitting two birds with one stone, she's done just that.

"Good, you can go and sort yourself out. You are older than Bushra, you should know what to do and what not to. Don't come with stuff like this to me again, I don't like hearing Bushra's wrongdoings." That stabbed Zara's heart though, she didn't like hearing that at all.

Why are they so in love with Bushra? Sometimes they even sound as though they are obsessed with the lady, she loathe that. This woman shouldn't have said that, this made her job a lot more easier.

She wanted to go lenient on them but with those words out of her mouth, Zara is going to do the worst. A plan b she kept for herself, she needs to add a third person and that person won't ever say no to her.

None other than her stepbrother, Aunty Farhana's son, Fuzail.
