Chapter 20: Chapter 20

Lucian's POV

I never knew that roses had more than one color. I had only seen red. But, come to think of it, I did see some white roses at my reception decorations. But, I wasn't paying attention to all that bullshit.

Now, I have to start pondering on what color I should get for her, this is very confusing. I don't know why women have to be so complicated.

I thought they said he who finds a wife, finds a good thing. I think I found more stress instead.

I mean, why can't women just like simple things like water? What am I even saying?

Or maybe I should just give her the money to get the roses by herself? No, that is a very bad idea because she will tag it as bribery.

"What color should I get for you, sir?" The man who was selling the flowers asked me.

I took a deep breath, as I looked at him for some seconds, before I drew to a conclusion.

"Just give me all the colors. I mean, you should give me a bunch of each color you have" I told the man.

"Does he want to start a garden?" I heard the man say in his head, and I tried my best to hold back my laughter because the man wasn't lying.

With the amount of flowers, I was buying. One would surely assume such, but that wasn't the case for me.

"I never knew that you were into gardening?" Nana looked shocked when she saw one of the maids, carrying so many flowers out of my car.

"Of course, I am not. These flowers are for Havana" I told Nana, and she looked more shocked than the first time.

"She is into gardening?" She asked me.

I lowered my eyebrows and stared immensely at Nana. I really didn't know what I was supposed to say. Maybe I did too much.

"No, she isn't," I told Nana.

"I got all these for her, as a gift" I added, and Nana burst into laughter almost immediately.

"Oh! Well then, good luck to you both" she left me, still laughing.

Why was she laughing in the first place?

I think I might have gone overboard with the flowers only heaven can decide.

"Havana" I called out to her, heading to her room, but she wasn't there. I looked for her in the house, but I didn't find her either. I tried to track down her phone, and it said she was in the house.

Of course, she left her phone on her bed. It was already 7 pm and my wife was not in the house. What if something bad must have happened to her?

I had already started getting worried. I couldn't stop pacing back and forth in the room, and for a few seconds, it felt like I wasn't breathing.

"Havanna, not again. I just got you out of trouble. You could have waited at least a few more hours before getting into trouble again" I said out loud, using my fingers to rough my hair.

I couldn't even sleep thinking about the numerous things that might have gone wrong. I had spent so much time pacing back and forth in my room, that I lost track of time.

If I were to go on and say anything to Nana, then she would only look for a way to blame me.

It was morning already, as I covered my eyes with the back of my palm, trying to prevent the sun rays from.poking my eyes.

I woke up feeling very dizzy, and suddenly realized that I hadn't even changed the clothes that I was putting on.

I looked at the time, and it was past 9 a.m. Well, that is what I get for sleeping late.

I rushed into the bathroom to freshen up, so I could search for Havana, for the second time in twenty four hours.

Thankfully, there was no need for that as I met her having breakfast with Nana. They both seemed to be having a great time as they were gisting and laughing.

"Havana" I called out to her, I was furious and wanted her to know it.

But, when she turned and looked at me.

I could hear her swallow hard, I could hear her heart pounding. I could hear her thoughts, thoughts filled with only negative things. She was so scared of me, she was terrified even.

And I am sure she didn't want to hear my voice or see me.

"I'm sorry" I hadn't even said anything to her yet, and she was already apologizing. She thought of me as a monster.

I couldn't say anything, her actions had left me completely speechless, as I went back upstairs, folding my fist. I was angry, but I didn't know who I was angry at, or why I was even angry in the first place

Havana's POV

"He will surely kill me today. I'm finished" I thought, not knowing I was speaking out loudly.

"Don't say that Lucian is just like that. He got you so many flowers yesterday and must have stayed up waiting for you.

But, you didn't come…..I am sure that he wants to speak to you about it" She tried to calm me down, but that only scared me the most.

The fact that Lucian waited for me?..

Oh no! There is no escape from this one.

"Havana!" I heard him screaming my name from his room, as I was startled and dropped the fork I was using to eat.

I felt my hands shaking, and my palms began to sweat. It was as if I had lost control of my own hands.

"Don't be scared" Nana told me, as she got a call that prompted her to leave.

My life is about to be taken and she is telling me I shouldn't be sacred.

"Havana!" He yelled my name for the second time.

I ran upstairs to his room, I didn't want there to be a third time.

He stood in the center of his room, facing the opposite direction of his room.
