Chapter 16: Chapter 16

CRAIG'S POV CONTINUES.

I was still at work, but I couldn't concentrate, I have seen Paul, and I know she is already at home, but somehow, I feel she isn't safe at home. I don't know why I feel like being there all the time with her. I don't know if that is what will keep her safe. But she is not the only one, her daughter is there, and Mary is there, they all need to be under watch. I should call home, so that I know what is happening, but who do I call now. If I call her, she might feel I am policing her around. I should call Mary instead, I just got her a phone, and damn, I also got her daughter a a phone too, I hope she isn't angry that I got her a phone? Anyways, let me call.

This is the second ring, and she isn't taking call, hope they are okay? I should call Joy and know what is still needed, maybe we could reschedule any meeting left.

"Joy, please come to my office". I spoke into the intercom, and within seconds, she was already in the office, but before she could get the reason I called her, my phone started ringing, I had to motion for her to give me a second, since I saw that the caller is Mary.

"Sir, I missed your call, I am so sorry". She apologized, and I could hear Whitney's voice in the background.

"He should be calling me, I wouldn't miss his call, I would go everywhere with my phone". She lamented, which only made me part my lips in smiles.

"Is Samantha back? I asked, as if I didn't know she was back already.

"Yes she is, your driver dropped her off at home, and left, do you want to speak with her, she is just here". She asked, and I almost froze. If I wanted to speak with her, I could just call her number myself.

"No don't worry, I just wanted to know if she was back. Please you guys need to stay safe. Please do not go anywhere, there is a monster outside, who wouldn't stop at anything, until he hurts you guys". I know she could hear me, since Whitney had responded to my statement earlier, I could tell that they could all hear me.

"Yes sir, we will, but I need to get to the store, there are things we don't have in the house". When I heard that there were things they didn't have, I was angry, because before they came, there is a maid, and she should know that she should ensure that everything is in the house. Mary shouldn't leave the house, she is only there to attend to personal needs of Whitney and Samantha, but especially Whitney, and that is why I will be paying her. Agatha shouldn't relax, because she thinks Mary is there to do her job?

"Agatha is there, that is her job, she doesn't have to wait for things to get almost finished, before she refills them, I will call her right away". I said and I could hear a little murmuring in the background, it was like they were trying to hide something.

Is something wrong? I asked, but before she started talking, I asked Joy to go back to her office, that I will call her when I am done.

"No problem sir, I will tell her". She says, but I could tell she was trying to hide something. I know one person who wouldn't hide anything from me, so I asked her to put Whitney on the line.

"Tell me the truth whit, what is the problem with Agatha?

"She isn't home, she left the very minute you left and she isn't back, but I guess Mary didn't want to tell you that, she doesn't want to be a bad person, but if you are asking that we stay safe, I guess we have to know the whereabouts of every person that shares this house with us. Or don't you think so uncle Craig? She asked, and I nodded my head, she is indeed smart.

"Tell your aunt Mary that I will get everything that is needed on my way home.

Tell her to send me a list of all that is needed in the house. I don't want you people out of that house, until I am done with my findings. I will deal with Agatha, later". I didn't tell her to give the phone back to Mary, I just gave her the message, which I already know that Mary and Samantha are listening to.

""""""""'"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Samantha's POV.

All through the call, I was expecting him to ask to speak with me, but he didn't. He didn't even want to know how my day went. He didn't try to call me directly, he called someone else, to know if I was back, when he could just call me.

I don't know what to think of Craig, I guess it is as he have always said, that he is returning favour. I know that soon, the favour will elapse, and I will have to be on my own again. I know he said that I could stay at his place for as long as I want, but that is just what he feels like saying, to make me feel better. One day, when he gets married, things will change, which is why I need to focus on this work. He has done everything that is needed to be done for me already, asking for more, is like asking for too much, even though, somehow, I wish he could talk to me more.

"Mummy are you okay? Whitney asked, shaking me, to snap out of my thought.

"I am fine Whitney, but you shouldn't have said all that to your uncle, he might get really angry with Agatha you know?

"That is what I was telling her just now". Mary added, which surprised me, because, I didn't know they were talking about anything like that.

"Fine, if you both think I did something wrong, by telling him the truth, I am sorry, but the fact still remains. There is a monster out there, after our lives, and he will stop at nothing, till he gets what he wants". I don't know how my daughter became so intelligent.

"But what could he possibly want from us. He has succeeded in ruining my reputation, and violently maltreated my daughter, isn't the best thing for him right now is go and never Show his face? I asked, but my daughter shocked me, with her response

"He is a paediatrician, a well known one at that, he isn't going to just give up. Soon the world would know what happened in the court room, and they would say things about him, getting me back is the only way to prove the world wrong, which he will be trying to get, unless we prove to the world, that he isn't just a monster, but also a drug dealer". I couldn't argue with her, she is super intelligent, and each time, I wish I grew up with her. The years I missed out on, have made me not know my daughter at all.
