Chapter 157: Chapter 157

Linda went to the mall, trying to get something for the upcoming party, she is one of the planners.

Entering the mall, and looking around, the day seem as though she was seeing all the people that she had seen at the court room that day at the court house.

She still haven't been able to shake the feeling of that day, and the things she heard, she hasn't been able to unhear it. While getting some things, she accidentally stumbled on a face she had seen that day at the court room, just that he had a metal in hand, that looks like a doctor's instrument, and all he has in his shopping basket are things that are related to medicine.

"Oh sorry". She says, after she accidentally bumps into him, but after a closer look, she called him back.

"I saw you at the court house the other day, you had a lawyer's profile, you said you knew the Bobby's family". She was explaining, thinking he would gasped and recall, but he looked shocked, before he seem to recall and then he nodded his head.

"Yeah right. I am sorry, but I am Browny Robert, I guess you met my brother Brainy Robert, he is the lawyer, while I am the doctor". He says with a smile, and looking down at her outfit, he added.

And I suppose you are a nurse right? She nodded, but wants to get away from him as soon as possible, for she doesn't know why she feels odd, talking with him.

Maybe we could see later? He says, with his hands stretched to show her his card, but she was already gone, she didn't look back.

What a strange girl".

Browny says, and continued to get his things.

When he was done, he waited at the stop for his brother to come get him.

When he finally arrives, he was with Vicky, they seem to have been doing a lot of catching up.

"I am not surprised seeing you two together, as soon as Brainy tells me you are alive, I knew he wouldn't leave the city again". Browny says, exposing Brainy, in a way he didn't plan to be exposed yet.

"I never planned on going anywhere before, I was going to stay here for a while and get the things I need at the Bar". He lied.

"I have heard that before, but you could have still gotten the same thing from the Bar in Los Angeles".

Browny argues further, and so the banter between the two continues.

Vicky couldn't help but laugh as to how they still behave like children, she would have thought that by now, with their level of achievement and understanding, they would have know that they have actually passed this childish act of theirs.

She looked at them, almost fighting eachother, she had to walk away, when they saw her, they exchanged glances, and just the same way they used to do all those years ago, they started racing after her, they were not looking while running, that Browny ran into someone, and scattered her groceries all over the floor, he quickly bent down to help her get the things, when their eyes locked, they asked in unison.

"You again?

"You again?

I am so sorry. He says, and quickly gathered the things into her shopping bag, while Vicky and Brainy stood at one side, smilling.

When they both stood up, their eyes lock again, and she swallowed hard.

I thought you left already? He was saying and asking at the same time.

"Yes I left, but I forgot something, so I had to come back, and that is your brother right? She says, pointing at Brainy, who recognized her from the court the other day and he gasped, but holding Vicky close, so she doesn't go off again.

"Linda right? Brainy asked and she nodded her head, they exchanged pleasantries, and each got to know eachother. Brainy followed her back to get what she said she forgot to get, and they engaged in a long discussion on health and medicines and some incidents that happened separately. Though Vicky was able to fit in, because she was into natural herbs, which she explains works like magic, and how she immediately knew what to use on Juliet when she was brought in, she still felt sad, that she wasn't able to finish school, because they were hiding, and watching the professionals converse, she often finds herself keeping quiet.

Brainy noticed that she was no longer enjoying the discussion, so he tries creating a diversion, in their chosen topic of discussion.

"I am loss here, I am a lawyer, not a doctor, so can we just discuss something general? He asked and the three started laughing. They were standing, he should have suggested they grab a bite at the cafe opposite the mall, but Browny seem to know what to do, he suggested it, and they walked in there to grab something to eat, while getting to know each other.

Linda was still waiting for her taxi, so she could wait at the cafe.

He was so happy, he met Linda, she seem to be very knowledgeable in the field, and she still has some aspirations and wants for the future, which is exactly, the same things he wants too. They had things in common, like they want to say the same things, they end their conversation with the same words, they have same likes and share same feelings, and their dreams almost same.

They have read the same books, and have same great health professionals as idols that they look up to.

Brainy kept watching them even though he was with Vicky, after a while, Linda's phone beeped, and she looked up at them, showing them that it was time for her to go, they two exchanged contacts, and she left.

"Wow! Bro, I would have said you have hit a jackpot, but don't think so much about it, because a pretty girl like that, isn't single, so you can stop dreaming". Says Brainy, who always finds a way to mock his brother.

"I know, but as long as she isn't wearing a ring, I might just have a chance with her, just like Vicky here, can have a chance with someone who is actually Brainy, not a.....

Brainy raised his hands to hit him, but he got up and ran outside.

I'm out of here! He screams, while running out.

He knew his brother wanted to say something against him, which was what he avoided.

"You guys never change, you play too much, as if you are babies". Vicky was saying, while still laughing.

"You know, you can still go to school? He cut in through her smiles, she looked up at him, and shook her head in the negative.

"Don't you think it is late for me? She asked.

"You have been able to grow yourself alone all these years, nothing is late for you to achieve, and I will be here by your side, I will make sure you reach the height you want, I will support you, even if I don't know what the terms are, but I will support you". He had his eyes fixated on her, and holding her hands in his, she did a fine job hiding her tears, but she needed to know what it is.

"Why are you doing all of this? He moved himself closer, and kissed her palm.

"Isn't it obvious Vicky? He asked, She have known, but she just wanted to hear him say the words, but he didn't say anything, she swallowed hard, she couldn't respond, she doesn't know if she is willing to love, she doesn't like men, and she had never thought she had a chance with any man, not after what her father did to her.

Come with me, I want to show you something". He says and they got up, after getting a few things from the mall, he drove her in his car, to where he stays, that is actually the first time, she will be going to his place.

Browny didn't join them, after all, he had told them that he was out.
