Chapter 14: Chapter 14

The very next day, Samantha got up early, she was all dressed up even before Craig came out of his room, which was adjacent to the one she shares with her daughter. She was ready to work, she didn't want to live at his mercy, she wants to be able to contribute to the house, she wants to be able to buy her own things and earn, so while she waits for him, she prays silently that everything goes as planned.

Craig is used to waking up early and going to work, as if he works for someone, and though they had talked about her starting as soon as possible, he didn't think she was up to start immediately, which was why he was really shocked, seeing her all dressed up, and looking really beautiful.

"Why are you up so early? He asked.

"I have my application, I want to go with you, so I could submit in person". Craig smiles knowingly, and though he didn't want her to feel bad, he would have just wanted her to relax and resume work, the same week her daughter would resume school, but since she was up already, he allowed her.

"I would have thought that you would want to start work next week, since Whitney is starting school that same week, but since you are dressed, I guess I should show you to the baby company I was telling you about. Like I said, it is still very young, and I need someone to manage it, which means, you don't need to apply, since you are going to be the manager there". Samantha was super excited, she made a fist with a broad smile, while Craig smiles back.

There is a supervisor there already, she have been working with us for a while, I sent her from the other branch to that place, so that she help look after the area, so you are going to be working closely with her, she will direct you, and help you understand how things work around there, before she finally leaves". That was okay by Samantha, she couldn't wait to start. Craig led the way, while she follows him into his car.

"Take us to Winlowtech". Craig says, to his chauffeur Paul, which told Samantha that, he just changed location because of her, and she felt bad somehow, that she was really disturbing him.

They were both sitting at the back, but she couldn't bring herself to strike a conversation with him, for she already sees him as her boss, plus he looked busy, striking a conversation with him wouldn't be the ideal thing to do.

She thought of her daughter, and how she was sleeping when she left the house, and she smiles, it was when they got to the Building, with the big and clear sign, which says Winlowtech, that she knew they had reached. She stepped down, and waited for him to gather his stuffs before joining her, like before, he led the way, and she followed behind. He wasn't saying much to her, which she kind of likes by the way, because it made her more comfortable.

The company is already too big, and he calls it a baby company, which they are just starting? She thought and almost asked out loud, when he called out to someone.

"Yes Sandra", (He calls out to a beautiful young lady, whose smile was infectious, with her gap teeth, giving her lips, the separation which screams sexy) Meet Samantha, the new manager, she is going to be resuming officially next week, but before then, she will learn a thing or two from you about how to actually run this place". Samantha shook hands with Sandra.

"Nice to meet you Sam, then no time to waste, let's start immediately". She says.

Craig needed to go, so he just told Paul to come back after he had dropped him off, so that when Samantha is through, he could take her home.

Sandra was a huge help, she told Samantha almost everything she needed to know, and she even organized a quick meeting with the rest of the staff members, so that they meet her. She didn't have to do anything, all she needs to do is give the order, and make sure things were going smoothly.

She was shown the different departments in the company, and was told what each of them do, it was only at noon, that she had time to take a break from Sandra, who seem to know too much about everything.

"Let's go grab something to eat, we could discuss more over Lunch". She says, and Samantha was happy for the break. She didn't get to take breakfast in the morning, because she was in a hurry, now, she needed to take lunch, she was too hungry.

You are lucky to get the job of the manager. I was hoping to bring my brother by next week, if Craig haven't found someone yet". She says, as they started eating.

"I am happy that I got this job, I really needed it". Samantha says, eating heartily.

"Anyways, you need to learn fast, so that I could go back to the Apple head quarter, that is really where I work, I love it there, and you know, I get to see Craig all the time". She says, making Samantha look up at her, and she noticed that the young lady has a huge crush on her boss.

They are both young, they should be about the same age, or a little different, so it could work between them. She thought, as she focused more on her food.

Sandra wouldn't stop talking about Craig and how working at the apple head quarter makes her feel, but Samantha was more interested in eating.

After they were done eating, she went back to the office to close her file, for she needed to go home, she was already missing her daughter, She didn't know how she would leave, and she doesn't want to try and find her way home alone, but then, Paul came back again.

Sandra rushed down, thinking Craig had returned, maybe to know how the new manager did, but she was surprised that it was just the driver, he demanded to see Samantha, who also showed up immediately. She was told that when she is ready to leave, he is ready to take her. Sandra was surprised a little, but she didn't take it seriously, she just smiles, and watch Samantha get into the car, waves at her, and he drove her off.

Samantha saw the way Sandra was looking at her, she didn't want enemies now, so she plans to find a way to be coming to the office alone.
