As the main group sprinted off, the girls who had been left behind exchanged a knowing look. Before they could follow, Kotori blocked their path.
"Are you guys really that stupid?" she asked, her voice dripping with condescension. "His hot spring is right next door. You're not actually going to take the long way around, are you?"
Her words were a revelation.
Sawa, Shiori, and Mana glanced at each other, a slow, mischievous smile spreading across their faces.
"Hehe. Allow me to help you," Kurumi said, a dark, shadowy portal coalescing in front of them. It was one of her clones, a perfect shortcut. Googlᴇ search 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝✶𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮✶𝓷𝓮𝓽
After sharing a final, determined glance with her best friend, Sawa nodded and stepped resolutely into the darkness.
Kotori turned to her sister and Mana.
"Go on, you two!" she encouraged. "You can do it!"
They both nodded and, with firm steps, followed Sawa into the portal.
I was relaxing in the hot spring, sipping a coconut milk, when a sudden commotion from the other side of the wall piqued my curiosity.
Just then, a pool of black shadow bubbled up at the edge of the spring, and three figures emerged.
"Eh? Sawa, Shiori, and Mana?" I watched, surprised, as the three girls, wrapped in simple yukatas, appeared before me.
The moment they saw me—my bare, chiseled torso on full display—their faces instantly turned beet red. They reflexively covered their eyes, but I could see them peeking through the gaps in their fingers.
"What are you so shy about?" I chuckled. "If you want to look, just look. You can even touch if you want. No need to peek like that; it's a little weird."
I turned slightly, a playful smirk on my face. I had nothing to hide.
The three of them slowly lowered their hands, though they didn't seem to know what to do with them, wringing them nervously.
"So," I said, stroking my chin as I admired the three beauties before me, "what can I do for you? Don't tell me you wanted to join me?"
As they stepped into the water, they could feel my heated gaze on them. Their faces flushed an even deeper shade of red, their eyes darting around nervously. They had come here with a purpose, but now that the moment had arrived, they were all hesitating.
While they stood there in silence, I took the opportunity to appreciate the view. The heat of the spring had flushed their pale skin with a delicate, pinkish hue. Their white yukatas, damp from the steam, clung in all the right places, leaving their long, slender legs completely exposed.
Finally, in order not to waste Kurumi's efforts and to at last express their own feelings, the three of them came to a decision. They exchanged a look of firm resolve and turned to me in unison.
"Kyoya, there's something we've wanted to tell you for a long time!"
"The truth is, we like—"
A triumphant, all-too-familiar laugh cut them off. With a massive SPLASH, Tohka cannonballed into the middle of the spring.
Origami was right behind her. In the final stretch, Tohka's explosive athleticism had let her pull ahead of the pack.
When she resurfaced, ready to celebrate, she froze. She saw me standing in the middle of the spring, and beside me, three other girls who looked like they were on the verge of tears.
"EH?" Tohka gasped. "How did you all get here so fast!?"
"What a surprise," Origami added, her tone flat.
Seeing the newcomers, Sawa and the others knew their moment was lost. 'Next time,' they all thought, 'next time, when no one else is around, I'll tell him for sure.'
"Uh…" Shiori scratched her head awkwardly, trying to come up with an excuse. "We just got lucky, I guess."
"Damn it," Tohka pouted. "I was so close to winning."
Origami's gaze swept across the group, and she noticed the disappointment in Mana's eyes. 'It seems her confession was interrupted. A miscalculation.'
One by one, the other girls arrived, and what was once the men's bath officially became a free-for-all.
Origami, Nia, Kurumi, Yoshino, Kotori, Mukuro, Natsumi, Kaguya, Yuzuru, Miku, Tohka, Shiori, Mana, Sawa, Reine, Ellen, and Mayuri were all there—a veritable sea of beautiful, pale skin that nearly gave me a nosebleed.
As they soaked, the girls chatted amongst themselves.
"Shiori," Kotori whispered, "did you…?"
An embarrassed smile crossed Shiori's face, and she lowered her head in shame.
'Well, that answers that,' Kotori thought with a sigh. 'Looks like the confession was a failure. It's a good thing she has me. It's time for a proper date operation. With the help of my elite team on the Fraxinus, we'll definitely help her conquer that jerk.'
Kotori wasn't the only one plotting.
Kurumi and Origami were also busy giving advice to Sawa and Mana, respectively. Origami, in particular, was offering up a series of truly terrible ideas.
"Since you don't want to use seduction," she said, her expression completely serious, "the only other options are to drug him or get him drunk."
"D-Drug him!?" Mana stammered, her face turning bright red. "That's too…!"
"Don't worry," Origami said, her tone as deadpan as ever. "I used that method to successfully capture him last time. I can guarantee it's foolproof. I still have some of the special medicine left in my room. I'll lend it to you when we get back, and then you just…"
Mana's mouth twitched. She stared at Origami, completely baffled by how she could say such insane things with such a straight face.
But as she listened to the rest of the plan, an idea began to form in her mind, and her face grew even redder as she imagined the explosive possibilities.
