Chapter 71: Chapter 71
I smiled and calmly trudged out of the forest. Being with Rex had calmed my chaotic thoughts a bit.
I felt extremely relaxed that Rex had calmly listened to me. If Rex had decided to make me leave regardless, I could only stay helpless.
However, that would've made a large impact on my life. Being affiliated with Rex, the vampire lord, means I would be made an outcast by the whole werewolf tribe, which means I won't be any different from the rogues to the werewolf.
I won't be able to enter the werewolf tribe in the future. Talk more about being the ruler of the Red Flame Pack.
I couldn't deny that that jerk had gotten me good. If I don't want to lose all the aforementioned things, I could only stay in the power axis pack.
My steps came to a halt, and a smile made its way to my face upon seeing Wyatt seeming to be waiting for me.
Wyatt's black eyes fell on me, and his lips curled up slightly, revealing that I was right.
Weirdly, I was filled with joy due to seeing Wyatt patiently waiting for me. Since he wasn't among the crowd when I was stepping into the forest, I didn't expect to see him when I left the forest. Perhaps it was my own thoughts, and he wasn't angry at me.
I ran to Wyatt and beamed with pride. "Wyatt, I won," I revealed with pride, even though I knew he must've known the result. I tucked back the strand of hair that fell to my face, right behind my ear.
"Congratulations!" Wyatt replied in a cold tone. There was a serious expression on his face, and that made me smile.
Immediately, I saw Wyatt stare at me meaningfully. I recalled telling him that I was leaving the power axis pack, so he might be expecting me to leave in a few minutes.
I lowered my head and shook my head softly. "I'm leaving no more," I explained in a low, shy tone. I'd been so proud of my words earlier, but now I'm not even courageous enough to leave.
Wyatt's lips curled more, and a faint smile surfaced on his cold face, making his whole being soften.
Immediately, I realized that the news of me not leaving was better for him than the news of me winning, and it made me want to chuckle. I guess I didn't mistake the voice I had just heard. He was really sad to know I'd be leaving.
Wyatt took a step forward, and his hand fell on my head before patting it twice. "Ever?" He questioned me, and I understood that he was asking if I'd never leave anymore.
Upon hearing Wyatt's question, I stared at him in disbelief. How could I stay in the power axis pack forever? I have no intention of seeing that jerk's face every day until I die. "For now." I mouthed. If it wasn't for Oswald's stinky trick, I would've left. Right now, I keep feeling joyful yet sad and annoyed at the same time.
Wyatt's hand that was on my head lowered his side, and his expression turned indifferent. Why did I feel that he had turned colder? "Ok…"
"Sister-in-law." Arya suddenly cried out joyfully and bolted toward me.
Before I could even take a step to dodge the excited Arya, her hand hooked around my neck, and she hugged me tightly.
"Congratulations Maia. We are rich. I know you can do it. Yes, Yes. You made us rich." Arya hollered in excitement and kissed my cheeks repeatedly before separating from me.
Arya grabbed my right hand joyfully. "Let's go, sister-in-law. Let's go and count money until our hands turn numb." Arya grabbed my hand happily and began to pull me away to leave with her.
My eyes fell on Wyatt, whose eyes were still fixed on me, and then I looked at Arya. I lowered my voice and grabbed her hand, which halted her actions, before using my chin to point at Wyatt subtly and say, "Your. Your brother…"
Arya's expression turned cold, and she glared at Wyatt before harrumphing coldly. "Who cares about that person? You're mine today." Arya purposely announced loudly and directed a glare at the indifferent Wyatt.
At that moment, I realized that both of them seemed to be in a war.
Arya harrumphed coldly and hooked my hand with hers before she continued to pull me away excitedly.
"Come with me, baby; I'll be taking you to the most famous and best-rated restaurant in Power Axis Pack after you've taken your bath. We've got to celebrate this. We gotta! Congratulations to us for winning!" Arya cheered happily.
It was as if Arya was the one who had won the competition; her enthusiastic actions couldn't help but bring a smile to my lips.
Suddenly, I felt a cold gaze fall on me. I didn't bother searching for the gaze since I knew who was capable of doing so. I smirked at Lorelei before mouthing, 'Your fly had just buzzed me.'
Realizing what I meant, Lorelei's face reddened in indignation, and she glared at me fiercely before turning to leave. I smiled at her retreating actions. It's really easy to solve all these bullies! Lorelei isn't a bit different.
I took a look around, but I couldn't find a trace of Nancy around. That bitch! She must've been face-slapped so hard that she decided to flee.
Looking at the shocked expression on everyone's face, I knew no one expected me to win the trial.
When I came across the rogues for the first time, I had never expected myself to win; it was all thanks to Rex that I got to enjoy this glory.
Once I get my earnings, I need to take Rex out and spend a lot to thank him. Perhaps I could even cook for him to thank him. I snapped out of my thoughts. I'll think about it properly once I return to the hostel.
My eyes were taking a quick glimpse at the crowd when they came across an unhappy-looking Oswald who had been staring at me.
I snorted angrily. Why was Oswald so invested in my business? Shouldn't he follow after his partner, who had just left due to indignation? I still can't understand what sort of relationship there is between Oswald and Lorelei, but that's not my concern.
I scowled in disdain before looking away as if I hadn't seen him.
Arya suddenly snorted angrily at Lorelei's figure. "What's wrong with her? Who asked her to bet 20 million against you?"
My lips parted in shock. I hadn't expected Lorelei to be the one Arya was talking about in the morning. "She was the one you were talking about?" I reiterated to confirm.
Arya nodded her head repeatedly. "Of course, she was." Arya suddenly shook her head at me in feigned contempt, as if she didn't expect me to be so clueless. "You didn't check the forum. It was a sort of tackling earlier when it came to betting against you, not especially when it was revealed that you were silently crying on your own." Arya revealed happily.
My lips parted in bewilderment. However, it was what I expected. Nancy had gone over to spread those fake rumors.
I didn't even want to think about how many people fell for the news. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. However, it had posed well for me anyway, so it didn't matter.
"Bunny, so you intended to visit the restaurant without me? I felt so hurt. All the love we had had gone with the wind." Asher cried out and touched his chest 'pitifully'.
My lips parted at Asher's dramatic antics. Asher could never change his ways. Besides, who's a bunny? I'm not a bunny! I snorted and glared at Asher immediately.
"Congratulations, Maia. We can finally continue our training tomorrow." Asher suddenly revealed with a wicked smirk. His pitiful look is nowhere to be found on his face.
My eyes widened. I never expected to still be taught by Asher. "Training?" My lips parted in shock.
Why can't I help but remember the day I told Asher, 'Rex was better than him when it comes to teaching?' Gosh, I'm dead!
If I knew I'd still be taught by Asher later, I would never say that. Looking into Asher's eyes, which were filled with wicked glints, I had the inkling that he would make me pay heavily for that sentence.
Asher folded his arms and chuckled wickedly as if expecting my reaction: "It can't be that you've forgotten? After all, I have to teach you really well starting tomorrow." Asher purposely emphasized 'teach you really well' which revealed that he remembered my words, and he'll be acting on them.
Gosh. Asher remembered, and he seemed to hold big grudges about it, but wait, that's not the most important thing; Asher had just mentioned tomorrow. "Tomorrow?" I cried out.
I have to get trained by Rex and Asher at the same time. What have I done? I smacked my lips together. I really want to cry in exasperation now.
"Why are you talking about this now? Let's postpone the discussion until tomorrow. Bye." Arya articulated and pulled me away immediately.
