Chapter 26: Chapter 26

"Or to take revenge on those who snatched things from you?"

Asher stared at me with a gaze filled with suggestions that perplexed me a bit.

If it weren't for the lies I told about my relatives who seized my parents' properties after their deaths, I'd have believed that Asher knew something due to some of his mysterious actions.

Although I wanted to ask Asher if he knew something, I was afraid that it would present me as a guilty person, which I'm trying to avoid, so I'd rather keep quiet and not arouse any suspicion.

I leaned back indifferently and snorted at him while feigning calm, "You're sly. I can't beat you." I responded, and he chuckled in amusement as a response.

Asher's lips curled slightly, and he moved back. "I can teach you..."

My eyes lit up upon hearing Asher's words. If Asher agrees to teach me how to fight, that means I won't have to worry about how to increase my strength and build my fighting capability.

Somehow, I felt that things were getting easily within my reach ever since I arrived at the power axis pack.

I bowed slightly to him in excitement and said, "Thank you, master..."

"Provided you pay with your body." He completed which made my smile disappear. I couldn't believe that he just said this. I huffed and glared at him angrily for tricking me.

"Aren't doctors supposed to have compassion?" I deplored

Asher shrugged at me with a mischievous grin. "I guess I'm a different one." He conceded, which made me roll my eyes in anger.

Hmph! Really a different one! How dare he trick me and give me a sense of fake happiness?

I harrumphed at him and turned to the opposite side, unwilling to discuss with him anymore.

And right at that moment, a heavy silence befell my room.

"You didn't raise the topic of your relative maltreating you." Asher suddenly raised his head, which made me turn back to glance at him.

Why does it appear as if Asher knew something, or is this about a guilty person thinking that everything proves the guilty person is suspicious? Am I the one thinking too much?

I lowered my eyes and bit my lower lips in contemplation. Asher is cunning, and the last thing I'd want to do is stir up his suspicion. I deliberately let crocodile tears pool in my eyes and responded with a weak and shaky voice, "I didn't think it was necessary."

Asher eyed me and fell silent as if he were trying to decipher my response. After a few seconds, he replied indifferently, "Um. Ok."

Asher stood up from my bed and began to wrap up his things. His expression was serious, making him seem like a different person from the flirty Asher.

"It's all done. I have a mixture here that you'll apply to your skin to clear off the dirt, etc. Moreover, you can only apply it once. Also, only after you've successfully applied the mixture will you be able to continue with the other prescription. I'll fetch you those in the afternoon. If you follow the prescription successfully, your skin will be back to normal within a month." Asher explained.

My lips gaped, and I stared at him in disbelief.

I couldn't believe that all the despised scars that had riddled my skin for many years would finally disappear within a month of treatment. Is Asher for real this time? Why did it seem so easy? Is it the same scar we're both talking about? "Really?"

"Yeah. Lest Wyatt get my head." Asher snorted and returned to his playful image.

"Shut up and scram." Wyatt's cold voice sounded, and as soon as it did, Wyatt opened the door.

Wyatt leaned against the opposite wall and folded his arms, which gave me the presumption that he hadn't just arrived. Since when has he been at the door?

I glanced at the door, and I discovered no presence of Oswald; he must have gone to meet his good Luna, isn't he? I bit my lower lip hard and tried to reassure myself that I didn't care if he did. Yeah, I don't care a bit.

Asher didn't seem shocked by Wyatt's presence. It was as if he had noticed Wyatt's presence all along, which proved that I was really weak.

Asher walked towards Wyatt and casually threw his hands on Wyatt's shoulder. "I'm just a use-and-dump to Oswald and you, ain't I? I have two wicked, uncaring friends. Poor innocent me. He feigned a cry, but what he received from Wyatt was an unamused snort, which made him harrumph as a response.

I rolled my eyes at his act. If he's really innocent, then perhaps we will hardly find a bad person in the world.

Asher turned to me and threw a lidded 50-ml white ceramic bottle on my bed. "Apply the mixture on your skin and leave it for 30 minutes to clear away all the impurities, dirt, etc." He instructed, and I nodded.

"It mustn't be less than that." He muttered strictly. His voice was a bit tough, and I nodded without hesitation.

"I promise it won't be," I replied and joyfully grabbed the ceramic bottle. A beautiful medicinal smell that made one have the impulse to relax wafted out of the bottle; the bottle had a faint glow and produced warmth.

The warmth seemed to slip itself into my heart, producing a sweetening feeling that pervaded my whole being.

I bit my lower lip, feeling touched by these two strangers caring actions toward me. I hope one day I'll be able to pay these men for all the help they've extended to me in one way or another. They're simply one of the best things that happened after I 'died'.

Even though we had just met in a few weeks, Asher and Wyatt had done more than I ever expected from anyone in these cruel words, especially Wyatt. The thought that someone seemed to have my back brought tears to my eyes.

I bowed my head to hide the tears that pooled in my eyes. "Thank you, Beta Wyatt and Doctor Asher." I appreciated them with sincerity while trying to steady my voice in order not to alert any of them.

Appearing to not notice my actions, they both nodded to me before walking out and leaving their unique scent in my room.

I quickly wiped my tears and picked up the ceramic bottle. This is one of the steps I knew I'd take, but I never expected it to be presented to me so easily.

I bit my lower lip, got down from the bed, and walked to my bathroom while holding the ceramic bottle. I carefully took off my clothes after balancing the ceramic bottle on the cabinet.

I stared at myself in the mirror. However, my face scrunched up immediately due to disdain. I hate the ugly scars that reminded me of the weak princess who experienced such a terrible life from someone who once promised to take care of her.

I couldn't wait to get the scars off my skin, so without hesitation, I set the alarm for 30 minutes before opening the lidded ceramic bottle.

I poured the glowing content on my hand, and it provided warmth to my hand. The content in the bottle was a transparent white gel-like substance with dazzling sparkles in it.

Calmly, I began to apply the gel-like mixture to my neck, then to my arms, before applying it to my chest and back, down to my lap and feet. After applying the gel mixture to my body, I finally applied it to my face.

I leaned against the cold wall and shut my eyes out of boredom.

It was only a few minutes after the whole action when my skin temperature suddenly increased. Even though the air conditioner was turned on, my skin felt abnormally warm.

However, it's nothing I couldn't adjust to. After all, I've gone through worse in the Red Flame Pack.

A few minutes later, I opened my eyes out of boredom. I sighed when I saw that it was just 6 minutes; why does it feel as if it's over 1 hour already?

My eyes were anxiously fixed on the clock, as if by doing so it would increase, but no matter what I did, it only ticked slowly as usual.

As soon as the alarm clock indicated that it was eight minutes, my temperature increased, and a burning feeling overwhelmed my whole skin.

My whole body became hotter than it had ever been, and it felt as if I had just dipped myself into a hot pepper. Not only did my body feel hot, but it was also peppery, which made my whole system hurt.

A weakening feeling overtook me, and I collapsed on the floor due to the pain.
