Chapter 166: Chapter 166
"You bitch! How dare you?” Henry howled out amidst pain and tears, his face red and his body trembling. “Do you think you already have enough power? I'm telling you, you will regret this,” he spat out in rage, his voice filled with loathing.
I rubbed my stuffy chest, feeling as though a part of me was burning up in pain, causing me great discomfort.
Even though I tried to identify the stuffy and uncomfortable feeling coursing through me, I couldn't pinpoint what it was.
I inhaled, attempting to ignore the pain, and laughed at Henry condescendingly. “Considering that you are still sane enough to talk like this, it means that we can now upgrade the torture level,” a cold and smug laugh spilled past my lips.
Immediately, my eyes darted around the room and fell on the wolfsbane section. Within the wolfsbane section, the wolfsbane was leveled from weak to strong, so I stretched out my hand and took out the strongest wolfsbane.
I licked my lips meaningfully, laughed coldly, and picked up a syringe.
Henry's eyes flashed with fear, beware, and anxiety. He began to struggle to escape but failed woefully. “What. What are you doing… .”
Before Henry could complete his sentence, I stabbed the injection deep into his chest.
“Ahhhhh!” He screamed. “You bitch, I'll kill you.” Henry's eyes turned red, and he began to struggle in the bed. Unfortunately, regardless of his struggles, he was unable to move a bit.
Soon, Henry's face turned pale, he broke into a sweat and began to spasm uncontrollably, like an epileptic patient.
I sneered at Henry's futile struggle and leaned toward him. I coldly enunciate one after the other while enjoying the petrification coursing in his eyes. “Carefully savor this experience because we are just starting. Everything you do unto me, I shall do it unto you,” I asserted calmly.
Henry's struggle immediately disappeared, and he began to beg me. “Filippa, don't be like this to me. Have you forgotten I was your favorite uncle who used to play with you? I swear I never meant to hurt you… .”
“But you did, and you never regretted it,” I smirked, wondering if Henry thought that by trying to sugarcoat me, I'd let him go. If he dared to think like that, then that means he's stupid.
It's quite funny. Henry had been a menace throughout my lifetime after my parents' death, even going as far as ordering his guards to throw me down the mountain.
Henry, who was my nightmare, is now in the same state he threw me earlier, and I cannot deny that avenging myself back while repaying every bit of what Henry did exceptionally satisfies my soul uncontrollably.
Nothing is sweeter than revenge.
My eyes brushed through the shelf, and I searched for the poisons and other things while Maia spoke in a voice filled with hatred. “My family treated you wholeheartedly, but you turned against us and hurt their beloved daughter just for power. You have no excuse.”
“Yes. You are right,” Henry yelled in a shaky and pain-filled tone, writhing, and his petrified gaze stuck on my figure. “Filippa. It's my bad. I'm wrong. But it's not my fault. It was that woman. Your…” Before Henry could complete his words, a strange and thin injection was suddenly thrown toward him.
Before I could blink, Henry's body directly swelled up and immediately burst apart, creating a gruesome sight.
Henry's bloody corpse disintegrated into nothing, blown away by the wind.
My whole body rooted to the floor in shock. Was that how Henry ended? In less than a minute, Henry's body burst apart, and he lost his life. Even his body wasn't spared.
I thought I was already cruel and heartless, but it turns out someone was multiple times more cruel.
Immediately, I raised my head and turned to the door to see who dared to act so cruelly.
Lorelei, in a black cape and robe, instantly smirked and met my gaze with an indifferent one. There wasn't even a trace of remorse in her eyes. It was as if she hadn't just killed a being. “He's talking too much. I couldn't take it,” she retracted her outstretched hand and took a step forward.
Lorelei suddenly chuckled and let her cape fall to her back. “Oh. I had a feeling you faked your helplessness to lead me here, yet I still came here. Do you know why?” She raised her neck and lifted her chin cockily.
I squinted my eyes and broke out of my reverie. “Lorelei. It's really you.” Although I had an inkling, I didn't fully believe it. But now I realize that Lorelei has been really hovering over me throughout my life.
Doesn't that mean that there's a high possibility Lorelei was behind the pain I went through during my childhood?
However, the most important thing is hearing the answer to Lorelei's question.
Lorelei wiped off nonexistent tears from her eyes. “I know you have three people, I mean, mates, outside to protect you, so I won't fight you here. We’ll have a proper fight soon.”
Lorelei took a step back, laughed sweetly, and covered her lips with her palm. “And ah. I forgot to tell you, our witch tribe already infiltrated the power axis pack. You can choose between finding your identity or rescuing your red flame pack and the power axis pack.”
As soon as Lorelei completed her words, she pointed her fingers around the room and out of the room.
Immediately, a huge fire began to burn and spread around the red flame pack.
“Lorelei, you…” Before I could complete my words, Lorelei had already vanished from the red axis pack.
I froze, my brain spinning and my mind reeling at all that had just ensued and all that I just heard.
If I could get it right, Lorelei had just said the power axis pack had been infiltrated by the witch tribe. And if I could recall, we left the power axis pack without taking any precautions.
Asher hasn't been fully alright due to not finding his mate yet. The alpha, beta, and Luna weren't around in the pack… The power axis pack state currently, I can't imagine.
However, if I choose to run to the power axis pack, then the red flame pack will completely disappear; there's no way I'll be able to get information about my identity. Moreover, I won't be able to keep my parent's legacy.
Immediately, I gritted my teeth and chose to do the most important thing.
Even if I can't save the Red Flame Pack buildings, I can still run to the Red Flame Pack palace and my parent's bedroom. There's no way I won't be able to get information.
Before I could successfully pass through the fire, Rex grabbed my waist. I didn't even know when he stepped in. “Filippa. What are you doing? You know what you were about to do is very dangerous,” he articulated sternly and began to pull me out of the room.
I shook my head like a rattling drum and tried to struggle from his hold. “Rex. You should join Oswald and Wyatt in rescuing the pack members. I have to look for something important.”
“They are enough,” Rex retorted calmly. His hold on my waist tightened, making me unable to break away from his hold. “What is it? I'll help you search for it. I still recall the pack layout.”
Even though the temperature had increased so much that it felt as if my skin was burning, Rex’s expression was calm as if he couldn't feel it.
Rex held me in his embrace and shielded me from the fire; certainly, the pain that he must be going through will be multiple times higher than mine.
I can't keep putting Rex in trouble for my sake. I tried to pry away his hand while shaking my head fiercely. “No, you should let me do it.”
Before I could complete my words, the window and the door collapsed. Most of the objects in the room were flammable, which means that the room would soon explode due to flame.
Rex immediately carried me out of the room, regardless of my cries and struggles.
Immediately, he began to drag me out of the pack and led me toward the plane. “Filippa, you can't stay here. You'll burn. That fire isn't ordinary,” he began to coax me.
Immediately, Rex locked me in the airplane and made his way toward the pack in order to join Wyatt and Oswald in saving the red flame pack axis.
Locked in the plane alone and seeing Zeirk made me calm down. I ran toward my baby, gently carried him, and hugged him close.
It was at that moment I realized that I had been a little selfish and too rash. Before making any decisions, I should have thought of my mates and my baby.
If something had happened to me after stubbornly stepping into the fire, who would be in pain? Was my identity more important than the life I'm living now?
Immediately, I knew I'd choose my current life over finding my identity. I'm living happily; the knot in my heart had dissolved after I dreamt of my parents and the witches’ issue, which was the only thing left, will soon be solved. So what more do I want?
Moreover, I said I'd be a great leader, but all I focused on was fulfilling my heart's desires instead of saving my parent's pack. I really let myself down and everyone who loves me.
No wonder a part of me was in pain. Of course, just like the red flame pack is my pack, the power axis pack is also my pack.
I clenched my fist and mind-linked my mates to apologize. Immediately, Wyatt, who had just delivered the first batch of the children in the red flame pack, unlocked the plane.
I immediately jumped out of the plane and hugged Wyatt tightly. “I'm sorry, hubby,” I apologized.
Wyatt kissed my forehead and shook his head. “It's fine. We are here to support you,” he coaxed smoothly, his words softening my heart and making me feel warm.
Ah. Upon realizing that I had actually forgotten to discuss the most important thing with them, I snapped out of my reverie and held Wyatt's hand.
‘The power axis pack is currently being attacked by the witch tribe? How can we get there fast?’, I anxiously conveyed through mind-link.
“The fastest we can go is two days,” Oswald declared and immediately showed up with the adults in the red flame pack. Rex followed with the youths.
Immediately, the red flame pack members saw me; they lowered their heads in shame, which I ignored.
I bit my lower lip anxiously. “Two days? Isn't that too long? Something might happen in two days.”
I lowered my head, my heart thumping in regret. “It's all my fault. If I hadn't made us leave the pack…”
Before I could complete my self-chiding, Oswald grabbed my chin firmly and captured my lips in a fierce kiss that left me muddled.
“I'll dispatch the vampire troops to the power axis pack. They will control the damage and delay until we return,” Rex spoke up while I leaned against Oswald, panting and regaining myself.
Wyatt nodded his head and calmly finalized, “I'll dispatch my elite guards also. Let's leave.”
