Chapter 162: Chapter 162
“Miss Filippa, I'm sorry for bringing you here in such a manner.” As soon as the person placed me on a sofa, he bowed to me respectfully, causing my lips to twitch.
I took a deep breath while trying to regain myself. Although the person hadn’t introduced himself, I already had an idea of who he was. And it made me completely relaxed.
The things I worried the most about were Wyatt and Oswald. This person had used a scent blocker, and I’m afraid that they might think the witch tribe was behind my kidnapping.
“Ever since your mating with Beta Wyatt of the power Axis pack, everything has gone wrong with our king. It was as if he already resigned himself to death. A while ago, our clan was attacked by the witches, yet the vampire king instructed his subordinate to stay back and watch while he battled them alone. The vampire kind almost lost his life, yet he still chases the witches to their tribe to cause trouble. We had to knock the king out and capture him before we were able to return to the clan. Since then, the king locked himself in his room and went on a drinking spree. Regardless of what we do, he won’t budge or come out. Since you can get together with Alpha Oswald, there’s a high probability that you can get together with our boss. That’s the reason I brought you here.” He clarified.
Immediately, Rex’s subordinate bowed to me. “I’m one of the king’s loyal subordinates. All these actions weren’t known to the king because he wouldn't agree with us, so we had to make such decisions on our terms. Please don’t blame the king.” Rex subordinate finalized
My heart felt as if it had been stabbed fiercely, causing my eyes to pool with tears. Although I knew that Rex wouldn’t have it easy letting me go, I didn’t expect that he'd simply choose to resign himself to death. No wonder I’m having a weird premonition. I caused it all. I caused it.
Feeling the energy slowly trickling into my system, I took a deep breath and stared at Rex’s subordinate anxiously. “Bring me to Rex. Please. “ I implored in a bristle and shaky voice.
The person bowed to me and helped me up. In a movement, he sped around the grand hall and only came to a stop in front of a door. “I can only reach up to here.” He bowed to me and helped me down before opening the door.
“Thank you.” Although I wanted to speak calmly and clearly, my voice only came out in a shaky stutter. Thank you for letting me know before I can only cry out in regret. Thank you for bringing me here against my and Rex’s wishes.
I took a deep breath and stepped into the room. Immediately, the door was shut behind me, and I could only maneuver around the room.
The room was extremely dark with no lights passing through; the curtain was shut and the door locked, which left no room for air or light to pass into it.
My eyes constricted upon seeing Rex in a corner of the room. Rex's back was leaned against the wall, his hair tousled, and his whole person wan. He grabbed a half-drank beer in the air, his expression very blank and indifferent, as if he had already resigned himself to death, just like his subordinate mentioned earlier.
An intense and delicious musky scent suddenly invaded my nose fiercely. My feet unconsciously paused in my tracks, my lips parted, and my eyes enlarged in shock, my heart thumping against my chest fiercely.
How come I didn’t know? Why can’t I pierce things through? Why didn’t I know all this while? The only ones who I ever had special feelings for were my mates; how couldn’t I figure out that there's a high possibility that Rex is also my mate?
If Rex was just a friend, it wouldn't have hurt so much up to the extent, would it?
I snapped out of my reverie and hurried toward Rex, my heart filled with aches. I bent toward Rex, "Rex...”
Rex's unfocused gaze landed on me, and he grabbed my shoulder with teary eyes. “Filippa, why? Why did you have to choose him? We would have been perfect. We would have been better together. I love you. I love you so much it hurts.” He cried out
The tears that pooled in my eyes slipped past my face, and deep, excruciating pain gripped my heart.
Suddenly, Rex’s expression changed, and he grabbed me tighter and pulled me closer. “It's fine that you chose him, but you still kept bothering my brain and my sleep. Tonight I won't let you leave."
Before I could process, Rex smashed his lips against mine and captured my lips in a fierce kiss. Immediately, he pressed me down.
.
.
.
It hurts. Damn. It freaking hurts. Why are my mates ones with such devastating stamina? Damn. I really want to cry so bad.
Suddenly, I felt Rex sit up, attracting my attention. My eyes flew wide open, and I watched Rex massage his forehead.
Suddenly, Rex’s brows wrinkled as if discovering that something was strange; Rex turned immediately, resulting in his eyes landing on me.
Upon seeing me and my current state, Rex’s eyes dilated and his back unconsciously straightened.
Suddenly, his face turned pale as if realizing that making a move on me, as he saw in a dream, was a mistake because everything was a reality. “Filippa. Why are you here? I'm sorry. I didn’t…”
As if noticing something, Rex’s nervousness suddenly disappeared, and he laughed loudly as if he had just received the best news of his life. “Filippa, you're mine. Haha. Nice! Wyatt, that bastard will be pissed to death. I finally got my wife.” Rex bragged joyfully
I laughed in amusement, understanding that Rex was referring to Wyatt telling Rex to let go of his childhood obsession toward me. Unfortunately, I didn’t give Rex the chance to celebrate before popping his balloon. “No, he won't.” There’s even a high likelihood that Wyatt already figured things out.
Upon hearing me mention that Wyatt won’t be annoyed, Rex’s eyes narrowed, and he stared at me with bewilderment. It was clear that Rex didn’t know that I already got together with Oswald. “Huh?”
“I'm with Oswald and Wyatt.” I conveyed while staring at Rex seriously.
Rex's expression changed upon realizing that I was correct about Wyatt being indifferent. “What? That means we are three?” Before I could nod my head in agreement, Rex grabbed my hand and pulled me closer. “Filipa. Those people are very shameless. You should just stay with me alone.” He rebutted playfully.
I stared at Rex’s radiant face and smiled before enunciating one after the other, “There's no way that will be possible.”
Rex indifferently nodded his head as if already expecting my decision. “Hm.” Suddenly, Rex’s eyes darkened, and his hungry eyes suddenly landed on me. “Filippa.”
My eyes constricted, and I made an attempt to escape from Rex’s embrace. Unfortunately, Rex was faster. “Rex. No.”
