Chapter 142: Chapter 142
I pursed my lips in grievance and glared at Wyatt unhappily.
Right as I completed my words, Wyatt purposely ate the remaining chocolate, even though we both know that he doesn’t like sweet things.
Regardless of how I sulked or glared, Wyatt only coaxed me softly before dragging me downstairs to take a cup of herbal drink due to the amount of sweet things I ate.
After doing so, Wyatt dragged me to the bathroom, regardless of my reluctance. He bathed me and then dressed me in a comfortable dress.
By the time the both of us arrived downstairs, a doctor was already waiting for us. It was after the doctor repeatedly told Wyatt that the baby and I were fine that Wyatt’s worries dissipated.
Currently, we are in Wyatt’s car, with Wyatt taking us somewhere I don’t know. I didn’t bother asking about where Wyatt was taking me, unlike before, when I'd be all over him asking multiple questions.
I knew my rage should have lessened or dissipated by now, but the urge to complete that half chocolate was stronger than any urges I’ve ever had in the past. It was as if if I didn’t eat the chocolate, I was going to die.
I smacked my lips together and huffed unhappily. Before I could blink, a gentle tug by Wyatt ended with me lying in Wyatt’s arms. I pursed my lips and tried to sit up, but before I could, Wyatt wrapped his hands around me, making me unable to. “What?” I scoffed coldly.
“Annoyed at hubby?” He sussurated next to my ear and chuckled silently.
Despite the fury coursing through me, I still couldn’t help raising my head to catch sight of Wyatt’s smiling face.
This made me recall the time when Wyatt told me I had failed my first test. Despite that I was infuriated at Wyatt, hearing a chuckle from Wyatt made my anger dissipate instantly.
Gosh! This man knew how to grab my weakness so well. Ugh. This man already knew that his smile always made me weak. Whenever he smiles, he knows I can’t suppress the urge to see his face.
I secretly glared at Wyatt in grievance before burrowing into his embrace. Now I’m no longer infuriated. Such a cunning man.
Wyatt stroked my cheeks and placed his lips next to my ear. He blew warm air into my ear, making me tremble deliciously in his hand. “Hubby is sorry, okay? Hubby will make it up to you after you’ve given birth, okay?” he whispered while mimicking my voice.
I couldn't help giggling in amusement due to Wyatt’s perfect mimic, but... Upon recalling that I was still supposed to be feigning anger, I pulled a long face and indifferently nodded. “Mm.”
Wyatt ran his hand through my hair as if amused at how I tried to feign indifference, even though I wasn't annoyed. He straightened his back. “If I let you consume the chocolate, you’ll blame yourself for it. I can’t bear to let you do such,” he explained while caressing my cheeks.
Upon hearing Wyatt’s explanation, my feigned anger dissipated completely.
Of course, Wyatt was right. If I had eaten the half chocolate according to my urges, I would have blamed myself and brood endlessly.
I sighed while restricting the urge to beat myself up. I raised my head and silently muttered in a voice that held a trace of embarrassment, “Thank you.”
Wyatt shook his head as if to tell me that he didn’t take offense to my actions. He cupped my cheeks and planted a soft kiss on my forehead as if to comfort me.
Seeing the fatigue on Wyatt’s face, it felt as if I was stabbed in the heart, making it exceptionally hurt.
Wyatt has to deal with work, my safety, and the pregnancy issue; saying that Wyatt has been overwhelmingly busy is an underestimation.
I lowered my head and twisted my fingers, unable to meet Wyatt’s clear black eyes due to shame. “Wyatt, do you think I’m a trouble? It’s clear that you’re being shoved with work in the office. You also have to worry about our baby and our safety.
To top it all, you have to think about coaxing me, who is unreasonable and throwing tantrums for no reason.”
The mention of every word made me realize how bad I was, and the thought made me burst into loud tears. “Wyatt, I’m sorry, okay? I’ll be a good wife, okay? Don’t leave me.” I grabbed Wyatt’s cufflink and lowered my head pitifully. Wyatt is the only one I have in the world. How can I live my life if Wyatt wants to toss me away?
Wyatt’s lips curved up, and he chuckled as if he were amused by my words, his chuckles attracting my attention.
Immediately, I straightened my back to catch a glimpse of his smiling face.
Suddenly, things began to click, making me huff in displeasure. Why am I crying when I already promised Wyatt to be good and not disturb him? It must be the pregnancy hormone! But why is it so strong today?
“Baby, I won’t leave you.” Wyatt declared firmly, his lips curved up in a smirk that sent my heart racing miles.
My face flushed red, and my heart began to pound. Even though we’ve been together for a while, the emotions were still beautiful, just like the first time I woke up beside him.
Wyatt’s lips parted as if to say a word, but before he could, the car came to a stop, and the driver interrupted by saying, “We are here.”
Upon hearing the driver’s words, I turned to the window. My attention was grabbed by our current surroundings.
My eyes lit up at the scenery, and I wanted nothing but to alight the car and explore our current location. Decorated in a mixture of modern and ancient designs with tall green trees, beautiful flowers, and a fountain, this place looks like a beautiful paradise.
Its name immediately attracted me. ‘For whom I love.’ Such a unique name for a restaurant.
Immediately, I turned to Wyatt and wrapped my hands around Wyatt’s neck. “Hubby, where are we?” I whispered while staring at his face with curiosity. Seeing his handsome face in close proximity, I couldn’t help but reach out and trace the shape of his face.
Wyatt grabbed my chin and bit my lower lips sensually, causing my face to redden. He declared word by word, “A certain restaurant.”
“Huh?” I tilted my head in curiosity. A certain restaurant? Immediately, it clicked. It can’t be that this was that restaurant with that exclusive meal?
Thinking like this, I grabbed Wyatt’s hand in excitement. I have always eaten the meal while thinking about the day I’ll finally be here. I didn’t expect it to be this way. “Wyatt owned it?”
“Hm. Hm. No.” Wyatt shook his head and intertwined our hands together.
No? Wyatt didn’t own the restaurant? I blinked in confusion.
I’ve always believed that Wyatt owned it, but if it turns out that he didn’t own it, then who did?
A family member of the Hayes? If it was that, then it wouldn’t have been that unreachable to Arya, right? “Who?”
Wyatt’s lips curved up enigmatically, and he blew warm air into my ear before whispering sensually. “We.”
We? Upon hearing Wyatt’s words, I realized that I'd just been tricked. My lips curved up in a smile, and I couldn’t help laughing due to joy. Seeing Wyatt’s amused gaze, I rolled my eyes and ran my hand through my hair. “Ugh!” I groaned. This man. He’s such a flirt.
Wyatt chuckled, alighted the car, and bridal-carried me. “Let’s go in.”
I nodded sweetly and wrapped my hands around Wyatt’s neck. “Hubby Wyatt, are we on a date right now?”
“Hm.” Wyatt nodded in agreement and strode into the restaurant. “I haven’t been spending time with you. I have to make it up to my beautiful Wife…”
The sudden smell of agarwood invaded my nose fiercely. Before I could process it, Oswald waved at us and strode toward us. “You’re here. You don’t mind if I join you, do you?”
I rolled my eyes while wondering how this jerk, Alpha, was here. This was definitely not a coincidence. He must have done it on purpose.
Oswald must have known that Wyatt had booked the restaurant, so he put things together and shamelessly invited himself here.
Wyatt’s expression turned gloomy, and he coldly interjected. “We mind very much.”
“Just close an eye.” He shamelessly responded, causing Wyatt’s eyes to turn sharp. Oswald’s lips curved up wickedly, and he leaned toward us before whispering meaningfully and deviously, “Are you planning to throw the alpha out?”
Even though Oswald didn’t say much, he was daring Wyatt to send him out. As the alpha, it was against the rules. So it was clear that we couldn’t do anything to him.
As soon as Oswald completed his statement, his lips curved up with cunningness.
“You’re a jerk!” I slammed in fury while wondering how I ended up with such a shameless and persistent mate who doesn’t receive a no for an answer.
Oswald’s lips curved up in a smile. “I don’t mind.”
Wyatt’s bored eyes fell on Oswald enigmatically before he began to stride toward the right part of the room. Due to Oswald’s interference, the mood to gaze around dissipated, and I obediently lay in Wyatt’s arm.
Oswald didn’t stop and continued to follow behind us. He tucked his hand into his pocket. “Baby, you look so beautiful.”
Wyatt paused in his tracks and coldly interjected with fierce possessiveness, his face deadpanned. “Don’t call her that.”
I nodded my head and glared at Oswald unhappily. “You have no right to call me that; only my Wyatt does.”
Oswald shrugged nonchalantly and responded. “Mate? Darling? sweetheart?" Although Wyatt and I had warned Oswald, it was clear that Oswald didn’t have any intention to take a step back.
I glared at Oswald while thinking that I was done with such a shameless person.
Regardless of what we do, he won’t take a step back and will only do things according to his way anyway.
And that's what I’ve learned over the months I have known this shameless person.
Isn’t this person who promised to reject me only to kiss me? Oswald is so shameless. “You’re shameless.” I scowled

Wyatt cut the steak and placed it gently on my plate. He flashed me a smile and said, "Here, baby.”
I nodded and smiled sweetly at Wyatt. “Thank you, hubby.”
Oswald extended his cutlery and placed vegetables into my meal. “Eat more.”
Wyatt picked up the vegetable and returned it to Oswald’s plate. “Don’t seek trouble,” he articulated in a deadpan voice.
Oswald sneered coldly, and he retorted in a seeking-trouble manner. “I don’t mind.”
I rolled my eyes unhappily. I still can’t get over how shameless the person can be. If it were other people, they would have let go of me a long time ago, but this person seemed to be getting more stubborn as each second ticked.
Wyatt’s eyes turned fierce. “Scram.” He fired. It was clear that if Oswald dared to provoke him one more time, he was ready to throw Oswald out of the restaurant regardless of the consequences.
I massaged my forehead and exhaled with tiredness. Can this person ever let Wyatt and I be? Does he expect me to leave Wyatt for him?
That wasn’t possible. It will never happen in this life. “What’s your problem?”
Oswald straightened his back, and his expression turned solemn. “You. I want you.”
Upon hearing Wyatt’s response, I calmly took a glance at Oswald before casually responding, “I don’t...”
“Be careful, mate!” Oswald growled at me fiercely, interjecting my words.
Wyatt's eyes turned fierce, and his hands wrapped around me protectively. “Don’t you dare threaten my wife!”
