Chapter 127: Chapter 127

"Woah! Big brother, you’ve done it! I’m now an upcoming godmother and proud aunt. Big brother, you’ve done well." Arya cheered happily while grinning from ear to ear like she had been doing ever since she stepped into my room.

Less than fifteen minutes after it was revealed to us that I'd gotten pregnant, somehow the whole pack got to know about my pregnancy.

Natalie, Finley, Alpha King Hudson, Luna Queen Lena, Lorelei, Louie, Mrs. Phoebe, Ezra, and Willow are now in the hospital room to congratulate Wyatt and me.

Luckily, the room I was admitted to was several meters wide, or else the room would have become congested due to the number of people in it.

Even though Wyatt’s lips curved slightly, he still didn't stop scoffing in anger, just like he had been doing ever since he received the cock-blocked news—like he had been saying it—twenty minutes ago.

Arya harrumphed and stuck out her lips in mockery of Wyatt. "My godchild is already protective of mom, even before he or she is out. He knew Mom was having it difficult every night, so he decided to do that one thing. Hahaha." Arya burst into a loud laughter, causing everyone to be filled with amusement except Wyatt, who failed to get amused.

Wyatt's dark expression turned darker, and his face turned gloomy.

Arya's chest heaved, her doe eyes moist due to laughter. Suddenly, she clicked her teeth with her tongue and shook her head in exasperation. "I mean, only brother is crazy enough to toss his wife about until sister-in-law is in the hospital." She snorted and glared at Wyatt unhappily.

Upon seeing my state, the whole family was filled with shock, and they kept asking what was wrong with me.

Wyatt immediately white-lied and told them that he had lost control of himself and done too much to me, which was the reason we were here.

The family didn't bother suspecting me considering how I woke up in the evening during the weekend, all thanks to Wyatt.

Natalie wrapped her hand around me joyfully and stroked my hair. She kissed my forehead emotionally, her eyes twinkling with joy. "I’m now a grandmother. I'm finally a grandmother." She cried out, her excited tone having a hint of disbelief, which made me smile.

I understand that Natalie had always been eager and worried about when Wyatt would settle down, and now that I've gotten pregnant with Wyatt and my baby, it has left her filled with disbelief.

Luna Queen Lena sighed enviously. "Natalie, such good luck you have. I wonder what Oswald is doing. When will that boy settle down?" She expressed with a sigh.

Deep in Lena's eyes, I couldn't fail to capture sadness, mixed with many other indecipherable glints that I couldn't decipher. Alpha King Hudson wrapped his hand around Luna Queen Lena as if to comfort her.

A strange feeling began to bug me. Unfortunately, I couldn't make sense of what that feeling was.

Phoebe stared at me and held my hand with a smile on her face. "Maia is really a good fit for Wyatt. I’m also envious of your luck, Natalie. I don't know what Asher, that boy, is doing..."

Natalie's brows cocked, and she interjected cockily. "Of course, my son knows the right pick." She boasted, causing the parents to laugh. I couldn't help but smile. Arya really looks a lot like Natalie.

Lorelei glared at me. Her eyes were dark and filled with envy and hatred. I snorted, not understanding what she was doing in my room in the first place.

Despite everyone saying their congratulations, Lorelei was the only one who kept silent and kept glaring at me like a haunting ghost.

Lorelei could have stayed back like Oswald; her presence isn't needed here.

I rolled my eyes and chose to ignore her. The thought of how frustrated and envious she must have been because she didn't have a husband who paid attention to her brought a taunting laugh to my lips.

Lorelei's face blazed with fury, and she glared at me fiercely.

My eyes slowly began to droop. Although I've only woken up in less than thirty or forty minutes, I find myself still feeling lethargic.

Slowly, amidst the happiness and noise in the room, I fell asleep, feeling secure with the thought that nothing would happen to me. And especially my new pup, whom I can’t wait to meet.

........

I yawned and stretched my body languidly. The room was getting dark. I guess I must have slept for a while.

Feeling the presence of someone who seemed to not be Wyatt, my eyes flew wide open, and I stared at the entrance of the ward.

Leaning on the wall was the ever-handsome Asher. His muscular arms were placed next to his hand, and his eyes lay on me with a glint I couldn’t decipher.

Asher had a blank expression on his face, making one unable to fathom his thoughts.

Asher stared at me with furrowed brows without taking a step away from his position. "Congratulations." He blankly pronounced

My brows knitted at his tone. Somehow, I couldn't help recalling Asher's accusations, and it made me unhappy. I resisted the urge to glare at him and indifferently responded with an "OK."

Asher stared at me with a firm gaze that somehow made me agitated, even though I shouldn’t. “I'm not sorry." He firmly articulated, clearly understanding that I wasn't happy with him because of the words he said to me back then.

My fist clenched at the hurtful words, and I didn't bother to refrain from glaring at him, not wanting anything other than him leaving my room. It's quite amusing how Asher was one of the reasons I came to the power axis pack. And it's quite interesting how we don't seem to see eye to eye now.

"I don’t want to hear you." I snapped at him, indirectly telling him to leave.

Asher stared at me for a few seconds, which felt like forever, making the atmosphere thick with tension. I gulped and looked away, not wanting to stare into his eyes, which seemed to be filled with words.

"I can’t teach you anymore." He proclaimed seriously.

I chuckled and clenched my fist to hide the pain that invaded my heart. Is Asher completely breaking all the familiarities because of the issues?

Then there's no need to hurt myself over someone like him.

As long as I have Wyatt, who loves me, what do the likes of Asher and Oswald matter in my life?

I tried to console myself, but I couldn't help the pain that coursed through my heart.

I pinched my palm to suppress my raging thoughts and raised my chin, trying to be as indifferent as I could. "I don’t need your teaching. I’m capable of learning myself..."

Asher glared at me sharply, and he roared, "You won’t ask anything..."

I smirked nonchalantly. Since Asher has come to his terms, does it matter if I ask or not? "If I need to ask anything, it definitely won’t be from you," I interjected arrogantly.

From the point I was, I saw Asher’s fist clenched. He ran his hands through his hair, and his lips parted...

"This is an order from the alpha; Miss Maia's time in the power axis pack is up. Miss Maia, the alpha ordered that you leave the power axis pack as soon as you receive his order." Before Asher could say a word, the hospital door was pushed open, and a guard walked into the ward and conveyed to me

"What did you just say?"

(Hi, everyone. I'm so sorry for the late update. I'm currently bothered with schoolwork: writing tests, practicals, and upcoming exams—all in this month. I might not post regularly like before but I'll do my best to post regularly. It's just for this month.

thank you for being understanding like always. Love you.)
